We will welcome you on your arrival from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkat or Chennai to Dharamshala at Gaggal Airport. Enroute your flight to Kangra -Dharamshala, enjoy the scenic beauty of Shivalik Hills and Dhauladhar snow capped mountains, the grand spectacle of Dhauladhar begins unfolding after 15-20 minutes into your flight. After reach Kangra airport by the afternoon and drive to Dharamshala. Check in to the hotel. Rest of the day is for your leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel with delicious dinner.

 

After breakfast it’s time to visit famous sightseeing like Dalal Lama Temple, Bagsunnag temple, Mcleodgnj, Tibetan monastery, Dal Lake & in the evening visit Naddi village. Tsuglagkhang: Tsuglagkhang is the abode of His Holiness Dalai Lama. This complex houses Namgyal Monastery where thousands of pilgrims offer prayers. The most unique feature of this monastery is its diversity of practice. It also houses 3 meter high bronze statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Valokitesvara and Padmasambhava. Situated next to the Tsuglagkhang Temple, the Kalachakra Temple is open to the public. The Dalai Lama uses this temple as his base for public teaching.

 

St. John's Church: St. John's Church is one of the major attractions, which is a testimony of the bygone British Era. Constructed in 1852, this historic church built in Gothic style is famous for its tapering high windows and a bell in the compound.

 

Bhagsu nag Temple and Waterfall: The view of unsullied water gushing out of the waterfall and the mist emanating from the fall about 20 feet is indeed a delightful experience. It is a marvelous location to live with nature enjoying the Himalayan serene nature and rejuvenating soft but cool breeze.

 

Dal Lake:  Situated at a height of 1775m above sea-level, it is about 2 km away from Mcleodganj. Nestling amidst lush green forests of deodar trees, the Dal Lake is famous for its scenic beauty and pilgrimage center. The area around Dal Lake is a natural paradise. Come back to the hotel in late evening. You can do shopping at McLeodganj Market or buy some Tibetan souvenirs at the Tibetan Handicrafts Market.

Palampur is a fascinating spot in the Kangra Valley also known as "Tea Capital of North India", surrounded on all sides by tea gardens and pine forests. The place enjoys a healthy climate and the pine scented air is said to have curative properties. The scenery presents a sublime and beautiful contrast- the plain presents a picture of rural loveliness and repose, while the hills are majestic. Behind this town stands high ranges of Dhauladhar Mountains, whose tops remain covered for most part of the year. The best thing about Palampur is that it always feels like home town whenever you visit here. The whole atmosphere is so pleasant that tourists enjoy it without knowing it. Palampur offers fine Tea Gardens where you can lay down and relax for hours.

Tourism in Palampur is a different experience as Palampur is different from all the Tourist Places of Himachal. There are also some pleasant walks around the town. A short walk from here takes one to the awe inspiring Bundla chasm which falls over a 100mts. to the Bundla stream.

The stream is a thin streak running over stony ground far below the cliff. During the monsoon seasons, it swells and rages - madly over the entire width of the chasm taking stones and boulders along with it and makes loud roaring noise like thunder.

Mcleodganj Buddha Temple

The town of McLeod Ganj in Upper Dharamsala is known worldwide as His Holiness the Dalai Lama Buddha Temple resides here and is also known as Little Lhasa of Tibet. The main temple is where His Holiness the Dalai Lama gives teachings several times a year. His Holiness’ residence is located near the main temple and the headquarters of the Tibetan Government in Exile is located just below McLeod Ganj.

The Tibetans settled in Dharamshala in 1960, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama had to flee Tibet in 1959 and the Prime Minister of India allowed Him and some of His followers to settle in McLeod Ganj, a colonial British summer picnic spot is the most sacred monument in McLeod Ganj. The temple houses larger than life statues of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avaloktwshwara. The temple also houses one of the largest collections of sacred Tibetan texts. It is 10 minutes walk from the guess house. You can meditate or you can take a serene morning or evening walk around the temple.

Tibetan Museum: Located near the Main Temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Tsuglag Khang). Tibet Museum exhibit Tibetan history and ongoing movement through huge collection of photographs and documentaries.

Naddi View Point: Naddi is a small village in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The Village is very scenic and is just 3 or 4 kilometers away from Mcleod Ganj, the headquarters of the Tibetan government in Exile. There are several points like Sunset point, Eco point and View Point. The sunset point really does offer beautiful sunset views. From the View point one can see the whole of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges.

Nechung Monastery: Nechung Dorje Drayang Ling Monastery has an important place in Tibetan history as the seat of the State Oracle of Tibet. Nechung monastery in Tibet lies just below Drepung monastery, four miles west of Lhasa, the country's capital. Nechung originally came to Tibet with a descendant of the Indian sage Dharmapala.

By Bus: Dharamshala is well-connected to Delhi and other parts of North India via a network of state operated buses as well as private tour operators. The journey is almost 520 kilometers from Delhi. Most buses stop at the main bus terminal in Lower Dharamshala, but there are also some public Haryana Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses that go all the way to the main square of McLeod Ganj. An overnight journey from Delhi takes about 13 hours. You can book HRTC tickets online.

By Air: The nearest airport is at Gaggal, about 13 kilometers away from Dharamshala. Gaggal airport connects Dharamshala to Delhi via Air India and Spice Jet flights. Tourists from other parts of India would find it easier to take a flight till Chandigarh and book a taxi for their onward journey to Dharamshala, which is about 275 kilometers away.
