The pilgrimage of the four most revered Hindu destinations of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath is known as the Chardham Yatra.Badrinath is considered the holiest of the four important shrines. The town is at an altitude of 3,133 m. above sea level, situated on the left bank of river Alaknanda and exactly between the two mountains Nara and Narayan. The shrine is dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver and falls in the religious itinerary of every devout Hindu.Gangotri, the source of the river Ganges and seat of the goddess Ganga. The river is called Bhagirathi at the source and acquires the name Ganga from Devprayag onwards where it meets the Alaknanda. The origin of the holy river is at Gaumukh, which is an 18 km trek from Gangotri.Kedarnath hosts one of the holiest hindu temples and is a ever most popular destination for hindu pilgrims and tourists from all over the world in a scenic spot at the origin of the river Mandakani, the shrine of Kedarnath is most venerated amongst the hindu pilgrimes.Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the goddess Yamuna, is one of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. The temple of Yamunotri falls on the left bank and was originally constructed by Maharaj Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal.

Chardham Yatra  Package Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Delhi- Transfer to Haridwar:

After arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, get transported to Haridwar by road.  Once you reach, check-in at your hotel. Here, you will get a briefing about the Yatra. In the evening, attend the mesmerizing evening Aarti on the banks of the holy river Ganga. This is a major attraction amidst  the tourists. Have dinner and retire to your rooms early.

Day 2: Haridwar - Masoorie (90 kms) :

Have your breakfast and proceed to Masoorie. After long journey we reach Masoorie,Check in masoorie Hotel.Afer some rest  you will visit Mussorie, a popular hill station where you are going to cover Kempty fall, Lakahamandal- a village known for its temple ruins and an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is a protected site under Archeological of Survey of India. At evening back to Hotel .overnight stay at Masoorie Hotel.

Day 3: Masoorie - Barkot – Syanachatti- Jankichatti - Yamunotri (65 kms and 10 kms around Trek and drive 15kms) :

In the morning after breakfast, begin your 65 kms long road journey for Jankichatti, a hot spring where you can cook rice. From here your 5 kms trek to Yamunotri, the first destination of the Char Dham Yatra, starts. This place is the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the Goddess Yamuna. Have Darshan at perform Pooja at the main temple. Take a dip in the hot water of Jamunabai Kund's and later, also offer prayer at Divya Shila.Overnight stay at Yamunotri Hotels..

Day 4: Yamunotri - Gangotri (225 kms) :

Have your breakfast and continue towards Gangotri. Evening arrival.Check in Hotel. Time is free for leisure. Dinner and overnight in Gangotri.

Day 5:  Gangotri - Uttarkashi (200 Kms) :

After relishing a hearty breakfast, continue towards Gangotri, the second  destination of the Chardham Yatra. On arrival, Have Darshan and perform Pooja at the 18th century temple of Goddess Ganga. Later, you are also going to visit Rishikund and a temple dedicated to Sage Parashar.  Then also explore Uttarkashi- a beautiful town, home to a number of temples, the prime ones being the Vishwanath Temple.Overnight stay at Uttarkashi Hotel.

Day 6: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi 200 kms) :

Post- breakfast, leave for Guptkashi. After Varanasi, Guptakashi holds a lot of importance for the followers of Hindu religion. On the way, you are going to halt at Rudraprayag. This is one of the Panch Prayag (5 meeting points), the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Next in line is Ardnareshwar Mahadev Temple, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Night stay at Guptkashi.

Day 7: Guptkashi- Kedarnath (32kms drive and 14kms Trek):

After having your breakfast, you are going to begin your journey to Kedarnath, the third destination of Char Dham Yatra. On the way, you are going to visit Gaurikund. Once you reach Kedarnath, in the evening, visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi (samadhi of Adi Guru Shankaracharya) and the nearby lake.   Overnight in Kedarnath.

Day 8: Kedarnath - Guptkashi :

Have your breakfast and board a helicopter from Phata for the main Kedarnath temple. On arrival, you are going to have Darshan and perform Pooja at the main temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is an ancient temple commissioned by Adi Guru Shankaracahrya, built alongside the temple that built by Pandavas of Maharbharta.  Return to Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Guptkashi- Badrinath (220 kms):

After having breakfast, you are going to hit the road to go to Badrinath, the fourth and the last destination of Chardham Yatra, via Chopta- a beautiful hamlet. After evening arrival have Darshan and perform Pooja at the main Badrinath temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Other visits are going to be Narad Kund, Brahma Kapal and Sheshnetra. Overnight in Badrinath.

Day 10: Badrinath –Joshimath- Auli - Joshmath (90kms) :

Post- breakfast, you will visit the Mana Village, the last Indian village before Tibet that is inhabited by Indo-Mongolian tribe.  Here visit Vyas Gufa where Ved Vyas wrote the Mahabharata. Next is Bhim Pul, a natural bridge across river Saraswati. Last in line are Joshimath, Sankaracharya Math and Narsima Temple. Continue for Auli where you can enjoy a cable car ride.Back to joshimath. Overnight in joshimath.

Day 11: Joshimath- Haridwar (271 kms) :

On day 11, after having your breakfast, you are going to begin your journey towards Haridwar. on the way, you are going to visit all the prayags: Nand Prayag (the confluence of rivers Nandakini and Alaknanda),  Karn Prayag (the meeting point of rivers Pindari and Alaknanda) and Dev Prayag (the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda).  Overnight in Haridwar.

Day 12: - Haridwar-Delhi-Departure  

Post breakfast, return back to Delhi for your onward journey.
