Monastries: Manali also houses three Tibetan monasteries, that have been built recently. There are three recently built Tibetan monasteries at Manali. Just beyond the Pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. Ettmaddullah: Ettmad-ud daulah, one of the most beautiful of Mughal tombs, stands across the river Yamuna from the Taj Mahal, nearly one and a half kilometers up-stream. Belonging to the age of Jahangir, it contains cenotaphs of Mirza Ghiyas and Asmat Begum, parents of the powerful Mughal Empress Nurjahan queen of Jahangir, an exceptional beauty and an astute administrator. Mirza Ghiyas had left Persian in sheer penury in search of better prospects at the Mughal court. He benefited much from the influence of his daughter who he had once abandoned in the desert. Akbar offered him a good rank and privileges. Jahangir made him his prime minister with the title Itmad-ud-daulah (Pillar of the State).

Sikendra: The Mughal Emperor Akbar, known as Akbar the Great, ruled an empire that stretched across North India from 1556 to 1605. His reign is considered the pinnacle of Mughal rule in India Akbar's tomb is located in the serene ambience of Sikandra 3 km away from Agra. Akbar began building it during his lifetime and his son, the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, completed it. Some of its design features are similar to the design of the Taj Mahal built later in Agra.


Shimla:

Christ Church & St. Michael's Cathedral: The famous Christ church & St. Michael's Cathedral of Shimla is a beautiful architectural masterpiece. The construction of this church took a span of 11 years (1846 - 1857) and is considered to be the second oldest church in North India. The church looks absolutely magical during night when lights placed at strategic corners illuminate this beautiful church. It is designed in the typical Elizabethan style and consists of a great collection of books and ancient scriptures.

Mall Road Shimla: The Mall Road is the main street in Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. All colonial structures are located on the Mall Road.  The Mall Road is also famous for its wooden furniture shops that sell exquisite wooden articles, which look like antiques.


Manali:

Tibetean Monestry: The another famous location is Tibetean monestry. Manali has various colorful monastries. These monasteries serve not only as a place of worship but also as guardians of the rich culture and history of the Tibetan people settled in Kullu and Manali. 

Manu Temple: A famous and significant pilgrimage spot, the Manu Temple is the only temple in India for Lord Manu, the legendary sage who stayed in this area. Manali got its name from lord Manu. Its close connection with the seventh incarnation of the sage is due to mythology that states his saving the Vedas and the seven sages from inundation during the great flood.

Vashisht Temple: Vashisht, a small village 3 kms from Manali located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali towards Rohtang pass is worth a visit, which is renowned for its Hot Water Springs and Temple. The village is also the site of some old temples, dedicated to the great sage Vashisht, and to Lord Rama. The Himachal Tourism sulphur baths are just beyond these shrines. Natural Hot Sulphur Water Springs with two separate bathing tanks for Gents and Ladies, which are always full of tourists. Turkish Style Showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby Spring is provided for bathing.

Jagatsukh Temple: The one time capital of Kullu. Here are old temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and to Sandhya Gayatri. The Arjun caves are just ahead.

Rahalla Falls:  It is 51 km from Manali. Located at a height of 3980 m, the Pass once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti.The Pass is open from June to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Just beyond the Pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas river, a holy site for Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also accessible from the Rohtang Pass.
