Karnaprayag is one of the five confluences of Alaknanda River where it meets with Pindar River coming from Kumaon region.Karnaprayag is a popular destination of Uttarakhand because it connects Garhwal region with Kumaon by NH58. Alaknanda River of Garhwal region and Pindar River coming from Kumaon region meets at thes sanctified confluence of Karnaprayag. Karnprayag is a city and municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Karnprayag is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Pindari River.

It is a beautiful town to visit in Uttarakhand and is blessed with rich flora and fauna. It is regarded as one of the five places of the convergence of river Alaknanda (the other four are Vishnuprayag, Devprayag, Nandprayag, and Rudraprayag). For the Hindus, It is amid the sacred places of worship since ancient times and is believed to be the place where Karna of the Mahabharata have worshipped the Sun God. Some of the ancient temples in the town are devoted to Karna.
