Tara Devi Temple: 10 minutes drive from Vardaan Home Stay. You can also walk up the hill - will take approx 1 hr. Situated on hilltop and offers panoramic view of the valley, Shimla city and himalyan mountain ranges
Sankat Mochan Temple: 10 minutes drive from Vardaan Home Stay.This temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located near Tara Devi station. It is easily accessible from the highway and has parking facilities also. The temple has vast open spaces and is an ideal place to relax and meditate.
Jakhu Temple: Situated at the highest point in Shimla. Key attraction is world's tallest statue dedicated to Lord Hanuman at 108 feet at the highest altitude of over 8100 feet.
Kalibari Temple: Kalibari Temple is dedicated to Maa Kali, located near the Mall Road about half a kilometer from Scandal Point. This temple is famous with Bengali tourists.
Markets / shopping destinations (20 minutes drive from Vardaan * )
Mall Road: Nerve center of Shimla. You will find latest branded stores and old buildings constructed when Shimla was the summer capital of British India. Most of the shops don’t allow much bargaining. You will though find good eating joints - among the most famous are chaat shops, Krishna bakers, Guptaji’s and Trishul Bakers.
Lakkar Bazaar: Exclusive market for wooden objects. You can bargain a lot in this market as initial price quoted to you is fairly high.
Lower Bazaar: This is located just below Mall road. Apparels, home care and daily needs market. The lower area is known as Ram bazaar and extends till the bus stand.
*Kindly note that vehicular traffic is not allowed in Shimla markets and you need to walk your way up or use lift just ahead of old bus stand.
