Day 1: Arrive at Shimla
Arrive at Chandigarh airport and head to one of Himachal’s best hill station. You can get here by taking a cab, a bus, a train or catch a flight to this stunning hill station near Chandigarh. It’s a 4-hour drive to Shimla and will give you some of the best sceneries you have ever seen.
Welcome to one of the best Hill stations in India. Take some rest at the accommodation after checking in. Start of this Shimla trip with a visit to Christ Church. It is one of Shimla’s prominent landmarks situated on The Ridge. It is built in the Neo-gothic style and remains an enduring legacy of the British Raj attracting many tourists. Right next to the church is a library built in 1910 by James Ransome. This building is a great example of the typical Elizabethan style and has a great collection of books and scriptures.
The Ridge is one of Shimla’s most famous attractions. It is a large open space in the heart of Shimla famous for the celebrations and events that are often organized here. The Ridge offers stunning views of the Himalayan ranges snow-clad and beautiful all year round.

Day 2: Full Day Sightseeing in Shimla
Start your day off with an early breakfast before your Shimla sightseeing. Head to Annandale to treat your senses to ethereal beauty. The breathtaking view from the top makes the challenging walk up the hill worth your while. It’s picturesque and gives you a stunning view of Shimla city. The playground has always been the center of fun and entertainment. While you are here, you can visit the Army Heritage Museum. The museum has some fantastic collection dedicated to the soldiers of the Indian Army. Be sure to check the timings before you get there.
A trip to Shimla without visiting the Kali Bari temple is incomplete if you are religiously inclined. One of Shimla’s oldest temples dedicated to Goddess Kale is said to bring happiness and prosperity to all that offer their prayers here. The location of the temple is very convenient as it is close to The Mall.
The Mall is the heart of Shimla’s shopping scene. Shopping in Mall road is one of the top things to do in Shimla during your Package tour. It is famous for the wooden articles and furniture. The Mall road has a lot of shopping options for local handicrafts, jewelry and other such goods. Indian Institute of Advanced Studies: The Indian Institute of Advanced Study is housed in the famous Viceregal Lodge situated on top of the Observatory Hill. Viceregal Lodge is also called Rashtrapati Niwas. The building was constructed between 1880 and 1888 during British reign. The year 1965 saw the establishment of Indian Institute of Advanced Study here by Dr. Radhakrishnan
Jakhu Hanumna Temple: This temple of Lord Hanuman, the most faithful aide to Lord Rama is located in the thick forests of Jakhu hills. The devotees need to cover a steep hill trek of around 2 kms to reach the temple which is 2.5 km from the Ridge and offers beautiful views of the Shivalik Mountains and the nearby town of Sanjauli. It is the highest peak in Shimla and gives shelter to countless playful monkeys which can be found waiting to be fed by visitors
Shimla church: Christ Church Shimla is the second oldest church in North India, after St John's Church in Meerut. It was consecrated on 10th January 1857 by Bishop Wilson of Calcutta. Built in Neo-Gothic style of architecture other impressive features of the Church include paintings that portray scenes from Jesus Christ’s life. As it is located at the most prominent road of Shimla, The Ridge, it has become an important landmark in the city.
After that you may stop for lunch at any nearest restaurant, later you will taken towards Chadwick Waterfalls & State Museum
State Museum: The State Museum Shimla is housed in an old Victorian mansion carefully altered to adapt it to the museum. There are many colonial structures and heritage sites in Shimla that are of great historical importance. The museum also has a doll gallery which has several bride and groom dolls among many others which are admired by all visitors. Some archeological artifacts are also found here which include stone images from the 8th century.
Chadwick Waterfalls: Chadwick Falls is located at about 7 kilometers from Shimla, just beyond the summer hill. The waterfalls cascades down in to a deep gorge, from a height of 67 meters. Chadwick Falls is best seen just after the monsoon. September would be the best time to see and enjoy the Chadwick waterfalls.
By the evening you will be free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Shimla town, the Ridge. After that you will return back to hotel and overnight stay with dinner at Shimla Cottages/ Resorts.

Day 3: Day Excursion to Tattapani
Start your day off early with breakfast and head to Tattapani situated 2 hours away by road. It is a destination for water sports and river rafting in the cold water of River Sutlej is exciting and fun. The landscape around is out of this world. Head to the Hot Water Springs for a dip in the most sought after hot springs in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known for its curative values the hot spring dip on the banks of the river Sutlej is a mind-blowing experience and must not be missed.

Day 4: Day Excursion to Narkanda
After an early breakfast head to Narkanda from Shimla. The two-hour drive is scenic and laid with apple orchards all the way. Start off your excursion with a trek to Hathu peak. The trek is a one-way hike of 7 km to the peak worth every step. This calm and peaceful place is famous for its apple orchards and green paddy fields surrounded by dense pine forest and a view of the snow-clad mountains. The view from the top is breathtakingly beautiful and is nothing short of paradise.
In the right season, Narkanda is perfect for skiing and winter sports boasting of one amongst the safest and oldest skiing destinations in Himachal Pradesh. Unwind at the Tannu Jubbar Lake while sipping on some hot beverage before heading out to shop for Himachali shawls, Patoo blankets, Pullans and more traditional Himachali items.
After a beautiful day spent at Narkanda, drive back to Shimla while enjoying some peace and quiet. Head to accommodation for rest.
Day 5: Full Day at Leisure

By Flight: The nearest airport to Shimla is situated at Jubbarhatti, 22 kms from Shimla has regular flights from Delhi but due to bad weather conditions, flights may be irregular. Alternatively better option is to reach Chandigarh Airport at a distance of 120 Kms away from Chandigarh, you can board Holiday Travel Taxi to reach Shimla in approx 2.5-3 hours.
By Toy Train from Kalka: From Kalka, the Narrow-Gauge Kalka-Shimla Unesco - Heritage Toy Train connects to Shimla. The total distance covered is 96 kms from Kalka to Shimla with 107 Tunnels & 864 Bridges. The Shimla toy train starts Journey at 656 meters (2,152 ft) above sea level in Kalka and reaches Shimla at an altitude of 2,076 meters.
The route offers a panoramic feast of the picturesque Himalayas from the Shivalik foot hills at Kalka to several important points such as Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat, Taradevi, Barog, Salogra, summer hill and Shimla. The Railway has 919 curves, the sharpest being 48 degrees. The journey takes about five-and-a-half hours to reach Shimla.
By Train: Indian Railways connects up-to Kalka (about 100kms from Shimla) by broad-gauge line. The Kalka station is connected to most major cities in India, including Delhi and Calcutta.
