Get down to the bank of the snow fed river Beas while in Manali and enjoy its crustal clear chilled waters, Get the photos clicked on huge boulders lying in the river bed. If you want to swim, it is strongly recommended to use Life Jackets and company of local Guides. Or just relax by sitting on the river bank, or simply enjoy the great food at river side restaurants, Enjoy variety of food starting from HP cultural food to Italian, Israeli foods, have a drink, Chilled beer and forget all..

Spend 30 minutes-one hour at river bank and proceed next

Hidimba Devi Temple - 2 km from Mall Road ( City centre)

Next we visit Hidimba Devi temple, A 500 year old hindu temple Built in 1533 A.D. with a superbly crafted four tiered pagoda roof, it is famous for its exquisitely carved doorway dedicated to goddess Hidimba constructed using wood, A must visit and beautiful place..It is an ancient temple with tall trees around it.Enjoy photos with angora rabits, ride on the yak,Also enjoy the small "Jungle walk" just behind the temple

Tibetan Monasteries

Located at walking distance from Mall road, Manali is known for its shiny gompas or Buddhist monasteries. It is maintained by donations from the local community and by sale of hand-woven carpets in the temple workshop.

Van Vihar National Park

Next Visit Van Vihar, Near to Hidimba temple, beas river, in front of the Tibet market on Mall road, Van Vihar is a famous place to hang out where tourists can enjoy boating in the small pond as well as enjoy wildlife.

Manu Temple -(2 km) :

This is dedicated to the sage Manu situated at old Manali.

Vashishti Baths - (3 km) :

Well known for its hot springs. There are old temples dedicated to the sage Vashisth and to Lord Rama.Around 3km from Manali, across the Beas river is Vashist, a small village with natural sulphur springs. Modern bathhouses, with Turkish-style showers, have the hot water piped into them for the convenience of the visitors who come here to benefit from the medicinal properties. Vaishisht, also boasts a pair of old stone temples, opposite each other above the main square. Dedicated to the local patron saint Vashista, the smaller of the two opens on to a partially covered courtyard, and is adorned with elaborate woodcarvings. Those lining the interior of the shrine, blackened by years of oil-lamp and incense smoke, are particularly fine. The temple tanks are underground hot-water/sulfur springs.

At a distance of 3km northwest of Manali is Old Manali, famous for its orchards and old guesthouses. Calm and serene surroundings coupled with the sound of Beas river is a very peaceful experience. There is ruined fort here by the name of Manaligarh. There is also the Manu Maharishi Temple, dedicated to sage Manu.

The nearest airport to manali is  (IATA code KUU) is at Bhuntar town, situated on NH21 about 50 km (31 mi) south of Manali and 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Kullu town. The airport is also known as Kullu-Manali airport and has more than a kilometre long runway. Indian Airlines and some private airlines have regular flights to the airport.

Chandigarh airport is the nearest large airport.
