Gollu Devta or Chitai Temple 

Gollu Temple is dedicated to Gollu Devta, an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav. Situated 8 km. from Almora the deity of this sacred temple is reputed to make every wish comes true, provided the worshipper ask for it with a clear conscience. All he asks for in propitiation is a bell, as was evident from the thousands of bells strung across the temple premises. Anyone can even seek Gollu Devta"s divine intervention by writing to him. Stacks of letter are pinned all over the temple along with bells. The stunning view of the Himalayas can also be seen from the Chitai.

 Kasar Devi Temple is situated at a distance of 7km from Almora. This sacred temple is also mentioned in Skanda Purana and it is also said that Swami Vivekananda meditated here in the year 1890. Patal Bhubaneshwari cave

Patal Bhubaneshwari is a very ancient cave, which is about 37 km from Chaukori.  For many tourists, remains one of their most memorable experiences in the district. The myth behind this cave cum sanctuary is that, the Pandavas with their wife Draupadi stayed for a while here while on their final journey to salvation in the Himalayas. There is an unprecedented rush of relief and peace, and the cave itself has a whole water body located inside it. The cave itself is not a single cavity, but a series of caves within caves, made completely out of limestone, and by the safekeeping of the authorities is very well preserved, and electrically illuminated. The cave becomes a spiritual spot for many who comes seeking peace and fulfillment in Chaukori.

Arjuneshwar Shiva Temple

The temple is situated on a hill at a height of about 6000 feet, and needless to say, you need to be wearing your most comfortable pair of shoes to complete the trek to this temple. This temple was constructed by one of the Pandava brothers, who were known throughout India for his impeccable archery, Arjuna. The temples in all of Chaukori, are a live symbol of the dedication that great men placed in the leading deities of the area, chiefly Lord Shiva.

Kapileshwar Mahadev

Kapileshwar Mahdev remains a very pure and religiously relevant spot for devotees of Lord Shiva. Sage Kapil constructed this temple, which is just above Tekari and Takaura villages. Every day, prayers are offered and hymns are sung in strict accordance to the doctrines dictated by the texts and devotees are open to offer their respects at the shrine as well. The Northeast path opens up to the Dharchaula Pithorgarh route, for those interested in exploring the district beyond Chaukori

Nagmandir, Berinag

Veni Nag Devta Temple is a famous nag (snake) temple located in Berinag which is located 12 kilometers from Chaukori.  There are numerous snakes here. Berinag, about 10 km from Chaukori, houses this temple dedicated to Sheshnag. The Sheshnag Temple is said to have been constructed py the Pants (the Hindu Brahmins of Maharashtra. The temple, constructed in the 14th century, sees devotes who worship the lesser known Hindu deities.

Ghunsera Devi Temple

These idols in the temple complex were established by the Khol Kings of Kartikeya Pura. The actual live specimens of such an era are extremely valuable, and unique to such rare parts of the country. History students can rejoice, for this really dated temple, houses some anciently carved shrines, with a few dating back to the Gupta Age. The stone idols were a predominant part of the culture in the hilly regions of Uttaranchal that promotes idol worship.

Nakuleshwar Temple

The Nakuleshwar Temple, unlike many Uttaranchali temples, does not take after the popular Kumaoni style of architecture, with the elaborately carved wooden gates and such. This temple takes extensively from the Khajuro carvings that focus on the voluptuousness of the physical form and aesthetics, and of recording the body in action, immortalizing them in stone. The really imposing figures of Hindu mythology worshipped extensively in the region are in the form of 38 statuettes here.

Mostamanu

Mostamanu is around 6 km by bus and 2 km on foot from Pithoragarh. This temple is dedicated to Mosta God and is known for a big fair, which is conducted annually between August and September.

Mahakali Temple of Gangolihat is an ancient temple which is also known as Haat Kalika Mandir. A holy place, the temple is believed to have been chosen by Sankaracharya for establishing the Mahakali Shakti Peeth. There is also a Chamunda Temple just 2 km away from the Mahakali Temple of Gangolihat.

Rudradhari Falls

Rudradhari Falls and Caves are located on Kausani Almora Road about 12.0 km. distance from Kausani. A Rudradhari waterfall is a natural location.

Baijnath

Pinnath

Pinnath is known for its temple of the same name which is located at the foot of the Gopalkot Peak and the upper portion of the Kosi Valley. The temple has a small conical structure that is dedicated to Bhairon. On October, a famous fair is celebrated at the village every year. The south of the temple lies a door, and is adorned with figures of rajahs on its walls. Indian arch, which has representations of the five Pandavas on its sides, form the roof of the portico. The adytum contains images of Mahadeva and Devi.

Anasakti Ashram

 The Anasakti Ashram is the place where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during the time he wrote the Anasakti Yog and it is also known as the “Gandhi Ashram”. The Ashram houses a museum that contains Mahatma Gandhi’s photographs and his writings.

Sumitranandan Pant Gallery

It is dedicated to the Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant, whose birth place is Kausani. The museum showcases his manuscripts of the poems and draft copies of his literary works. Collections of the museum also include over hundreds of English and Hindi books, displayed in glass shelves, the museum has become an interesting place for literature lovers. Every year, to mark the birth anniversary of the famous poet, a poetry conference is organized in this museum
