Bhojpur Temple Tour: En-route, first visit the famous Bhojpur Temple located at 30 km. from Bhopal. Spend 1 hour in the Bhojpur Temple constructed by Raja Bhoj on the banks of Betwa River. You will be surprised to see its great Shivalinga which is 10 feet high and massive stone structure. This temple has no gates. You cannot offer milk / jalabhishek on this shivling, There is another small shivalinga exactly opposite the same, where you can seek blessings. Bhojpur Temple is located on a higher platue, it offers great views of the surrounding areas. When Betwa River is on rise in monsoon, the whole place looks great. Spend one hour at the site and Proceed to the next point - Tropic of Cancer (Kark Rekha Point)
Kark Rekha Point Tour: Tropic of Cancer (Kark Rekha) is an imaginary line passing through the centre of India. En-route to Bhimbetka, on the Road side, you can see the marking of the same. It has a great educational as well as symbolic value to have photo shoot here. Spend 10-15 minutes here and proceed next.
Bhimbetka Rock Shelters (UNESCO Heritage Site) Guided Tour
Next Destination is prehistoric Rock shelters at Bhimbetka, which is located within Ratapani Forest Reserve. You can reach up to the caves through a nice road, which offers great views of the Ratapani Reserve. The Main shelters are located at a higher elevation offering a good view of the surroundings.
Bhimbetka has approx 14-15 rock shelters which were used by prehistoric men, they have made nice wall drawings on the stone walls, and it is worth seeing this place as you can imagine the life of the prehistric men. Guide will explain you in detail about the each drawing, sketch and rock shelters. Spend one hour at the site and proceed to Pachmarhi - our next destination. After Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, proceed to Pachmarhi (The Queen of Hills). Late Evening Return to Hotel, Spend rest of the time at your Leisure and Relax.

Day 03: Proceed to Pachmarhi - Pachmarhi Sightseeing by Gypsy
After Breakfast, Check out and proceed to Pachmarhi via Road in AC Car. Holiday Travel taxi will take 3 to 4 hours to travel this distance as the whole road passes through hills and there are lots of twists and turns on the way and average speed of the vehicle remains between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour only.
We will have break journey at various picturesque points, and Tea breaks in Pipariya. Our driver will give you full photo opportunity en-route to Pachmarhi. Reach Pachmarhi by afternoon, Pachmarhi, the hill station of Madhya Pradesh is also known for the Pachmarhi cantonment.

Pachmarhi Morning Site Seeing Gypsy Tour - with Forest Guide (Pandav Caves, Rajat Prapat, Apsara Vihar, Gupt Mahadev, Bara Mahadev). Enjoy Gypsy safari in Pachmarhi and visit Pandav caves first, followed by trek to Rajat Prapat & Apsara Vihaar.
Pandav caves Site Seeing Tour: This is the first point on your Pachmarhi site seeing tour. Natural Caves dug into the vertical face of the mountain, probably used by Buddhist Monks to meditate; you can walk through the makeshift stairs to the each cave and reach the top of the mountain. It takes just 15-20 minutes to go to the top of the mountain, see each cave and come down. There is a nice green park. Nice Photo Opportunities here
Rajat Prapat (Silver Fall) & Apsara Vihaar (Fairy Pools) Tour
It takes approx 1 hour to cover these two falls as you need to walk/trek at least 3 km. return through dense Satpura National park. Gypsy will take you deep into the national Park and you will descend deep into forest and dropped you at the stairs into valley, you need to navigate these stairs (approx 50-75 stairs), followed by approx 2 km. trek to reach these falls. Silver Fall is visible en-route, It looks like a small streak of silver falling from at least 300feet, further descend into forest takes you to Fairy pool, A nice pond is formed here, where you can have a swim and cool. Spend 1 hour at the pools and return back to your Gypsy.
Gupt Mahadev Tour: Gupt Mahadev is a narrow cave only half feet wide and 30 feet deep, where a natural shivlinga is formed at the end. The final opening of the cave has place for 3-4 persons, however at a time, only one person can go. This cave is guarded by Hanuman Ji at the gate.
Bara Mahadev Gufa Tour: Bara Mahadev is a big natural cave located at walking distance from the Gupt Mahadev. This cave has natural shivling where droplets are falling on the shivlinga. The cave is so big that at least 100 persons can sit and do pooja. Cave at entry and exit. A cool and pure stream of water flows from the cave.
Next to Bara Mahadev is a pool, where you can beat the water 5 times to have your wish come true. In the natureal water pond, between Mahadev and parvati Cave, there is a pure water pool fed by water from Bare Mahadev, Here pilgrims do the ritual of beating the water surface 3 or 5 times with stick. Visit to Bare Mahadev Cave removes all evils and recommended to cure kal sarp Yoga and Pitri doshas. Opposite to the Bara madev gufa is Parvati Gufa.

Pachmarhi Afternoon Site Seeing Gypsy Tour - with Forest Guide (Bee Falls, Reechgarh, Dhoopgarh)
Bee Falls Tour: One of the popular waterfalls in and around Pachmarhi. Bee Falls are approachable via a steep downhill walk. There are tea stalls around Bee falls serving soft drinks, noodles and some snacks. The trek below the hill is worth rewarding with a spectacular view as well as bath in the bee Falls. Water is pure and fresh. A Bath is a must.
Natural Fish Spa at Bee Falls: After Bath you trek up, there are pools on the top near to viewing point, where you can dip your feet in water and see the magic of natural feet Spa, and hundreds of small fish suck away the dead skin of feet and provide health benefits. So while the bath in the Bee Falls below provides you refreshing shower (100 feet drop water), Pools at the top provide refreshing Feet Spa.
You need to leave the Bee Falls by 4:30 to reach Dhoopgarh in time, as gates close by 5 PM ( half an hour before sunset)
Reechgarh Tour: After Reechgarh, proceed to Reechgarh, which are set of caves en-route to Sunrise / Sunset point where Bears used to take shelter earlier. It is a natural wonderful amphitheater approached through a cave like shelter.
Dhoopgarh Site Seeing Tour: No Trekking Involved, No Stairs, Full end to end Gypsy Tour. After Bee Falls, you are taken to Dhoopgarh site; Located at 11 km. away from pachmarhi, Doopgarh is one of the prime attractions for all visitors to pachmarhi. Kindly ensure that Dhoopgarh is a part of itinerary, otherwise you will be left out of the eternal beauty. Dhoop garh is highest point of MP at 4600 feet and motorable drive is very steep.
Dhoopgarh: It offers incredible sunset and sunrise views on both sides, In addition from Dhoopgarh you see incredible overlapping Satpura Ranges and view extends till tawa Dam. You can have a sunrise view in the morning and proceed to see other site seeing and return back in the evening at approx 3 Pm to have the sunset view. Most of the Tourists come to Dhoopgarh to see the sunset view and for incredible photography.
Day 04: Pachmarhi Local Site Seeing
Handi Khoh Tour: No Trekking Involved, No Stairs, Full end to end Gypsy Tour
Handi Khoh: Lies in route to Chauragarh, Morning visit to Handi Khoh (Deep Valley), named after colonel Handa, who did suicide from here. It is a 300 deep precipice and steep ravine, also offers great views. There is horse riding offered at Handi Khoh.
Pryadarshini Point: Also known as Foreyth point, lies after Handi Khoh, you need to walk at least 200 meters from the main road, offers incredible views of valley as well as Chauragarh Temple top. In 1964, this point was renamed after Indira gandhi - the PM of India.
Green Valley Point: This is a view point once you return from bare Madaeve cave to the hotel; you can see this point from the vehicle and is a great photo opportunity. The deep valley filled with trees always remains green, hence the name green valley.
Jata Shankar Cave temple tour: No Trekking Involved, Approx 500 Stairs in the last, Till Stairs - Gypsy Tour
Jatashankar: It is a Lord Shiva Cave temple near Pachmarhi town centre. No Trek required, Walk only a few steps (about 500 meters walk) to access the temple. Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple is also visited alongwith. Legend says that Shiva escaped through a tunnel from Tilak Sindur and finally reached remote cave - Jata Shankar. While running through the cave he lost his hair. Jata Shankar is famous destination for tourists & shiv bhakts, many pilgrims come here during Maha Shivratri festivity in February. Dramatic scenery around the cave is often used in Indian movies. There are numerous small shops selling herbs and medicines. Near the cave, also there are two small ponds fed by springs - one is fed by cold spring, another one - by hot spring. Here originates Jambu Dwip stream.
Jatashankar cave: It is hidden in deep forest and there are loose rocks perched in ravine, there are dripstone formations inside the cave, at the ceiling there is a formation which resembles a group of snakes - it is considered to represent hair of Shiva but also - a hundred headed divine snake Sheshnag. Cave contains numerous stalagmites - revered as lingams. There are some 108 such natural lingams here.
Day 05: Proceed to Bandhavgarh National Park
After early Breakfast, proceed to Bandhavgarh which is approx 200 km. away. Reach Bandhavgarh National park then check-in Resort at Bandhavgarh & Rest of the Evening at leisure.
Dinner will be served in Resort as per your choice.
Bandhavgarh: It is spread over an area of 448 sq km. and has vast stretches of grasslands spread over 32 hills. It boasts of the one of highest density of tigers in the world, besides healthy population of Cheetal, Sambhar and Barking Deer. Bandhavgarh Fort scattered with remnants of the past forms the heart of the park and offers breathtaking views of the forest all around it.
Day 06: Bandhavgarh Jungle Safari Trips (Morning & Evening)
Your will get awake with an early morning wake call at 4:30 AM Time to leave for the Gypsy Safari by 5:30 AM with a target to reach the gates by 6:00 AM. You will be served with a cup of tea before departure for your first jungle safari to the Bandhavgarh national park. The morning safari has a unique charm and ensures goof sittings of animals as well as fresh jungle life flora and fauna. Breakfast will be served at 9:00 AM in the Jungle Camp, followed by another round of tour till 11:00 AM. After morning safari return to the resort for rest and Lunch.
After lunch we will again depart on Afternoon Gypsy Safari to Bandhavgarh National Park for wildlife viewing. Afternoon safari starts from the gate at 03:00 PM and continues till sunset. Afternoon safari has a distinct charm as most of the animals come to water holes for water, Afternoon safari can make up if you lost ant chances in morning safari. During both safaris’ Forest Guide cum spotter also joins from the entry gate. Return to the resort by late evening.
In the evening, Wildlife Documentary show on Bandhavgarh and its Tigers as well as flora, Fauna and also discussion on sustainable tourism in Bandhavgarh. Spend time in the library.

By Flight: Bhopal airport is the nearest airport near Pachmarhi. It is about 144 km. from Bhopal airport to Pachmarhi. Number of flights flies directly between Bhopal to Pachmarhi. It takes 1 hour to reach by flight. You can conveniently book prepaid cabs from the airport to reach your destination in Pachmarhi.
By Train: Sobhapur is the nearest railway station. It is about 32 km. from Bhopal airport. One can board train from Bhopal to Pachmarhi, a journey of about 4 hours.
By Bus: Many of government and private buses travel between Bhopal and Pachmarhi. Bhopal to Pachmarhi travel time is Approx 4.0 hours. This route has many different types of buses operating. E. g. Famous sightseeing of Pachmarhi
Irene Pool
Irene is a bathing pool, which was discovered by Irene Bose, wife of Justice Vivian Bose. On the upstream there is a cave from which the stream goes underground and then descends in the form waterfall.
Priyadarshini Point
Originally this point was called Forsyth Point; however, after the point was visited by Indira Gandhi in 1964, it was named as the Priyadarshini Point. It is a popular vantage point as it is believed that this is the point from where Pachmarhi was discovered. In 1857, Captain Forsyth, who was a Bengal Lancer, first saw the beautiful saucer-shaped scenic spot from this point. After this, Pachmarhi was developed as a sanatorium and hill resort.
Dutchess Waterfall
The Dutchess Waterfall is also known as Jalwataran holds a unique distinction of being one of the most challenging and adventurous waterfalls to reach to. Located amidst dense foliage of trees, there is no paved way to reach the scenic waterfall and one has to walk down a steep descent of 4 km to reach here. Although the trek could be arduous and tiring, the fruit of this hard work is worth the effort. The water from this waterfall plunges into three different cascades and visitors can take a refreshing shower in the waterfall. There is doctor fish in the pool formed here, so don’t be alarmed if you find these miracle fish nibbling away the dead skin from your feet.
Rajendra Giri Sun Set Point
Trekkers, nature lovers, photographers and adventure seekers will find a trip to the Rajendra Giri Sunset point and its neighborhood highly satisfactory. Rajendra Giri Sun Set Point is easily accessible from all parts of Pachmarhi by local modes of transport. The site was named after Dr Rajendra Prasad, as he was a frequent visitor to Pachmarhi. The Rajendra Giri Sunset point is the ideal place to enjoy a great view of nature sunset. Satpura National Park
This park is home to tiger, leopard, sambhar, chital, bhedki, nilgai and four-horned antelope. Tourists can also spot chinkara, bison, wild boar, wild dog, bear, black buck and flying squirrel in this park. Besides rich diversity of fauna, flora like sal, teak, tendu, mahua, bel, bamboo and medicinal plants can also be seen in the park. This National Park is located in the Satpura ranges of the district of Hoshangabad of Madhya Pradesh. Village Tala

Three Cave Point
One of the most fascinating place in Bandhavgarh National Park is the three cave point that can be easily visible from the Ganesh Hillock road. Mahaman Pond

The Mahaman Pond is being located near the Bandhavgarh Fort which is being surrounded by bamboo clumps where large varieties of herding of wild creatures can be found.
The Shesh Shaya
The Shesh Shaya is a marvelous 11 meter long & 65 ft horizontally laid statue of Lord Vishnu in the laying position with umbrella of “Shesh Nag” along with the “Shivling” and the “Lord Brahma” are situated here. The statue is believed to be the asset of 10th century. It is placed on the main entrance of the footpath, way towards the Bandhavgarh Fort. The origin of the river “Charan Ganga” inflows from the foot of “Lord Vishnu” and so the name is being derived from.
Rajbahera
The Rajbahera brings the Bandhaini Hillock view along with the glances of sorks, vultures and herds of chital, samber and wild pigs is definitely an additional attraction of Bandhavgarh. It is a marshy meadow which can be viewed from the Bandhaini Hillock and is the origin of the river Dammer.
Kethika
This place is also known as the Pendanus Point where a lump of an aromatic plant called Kewra can be found amidst the supercilious jammu and arjun trees. It is undoubtedly a real floral treasure of Bandhavgarh Reserve.
Cheshpur Water Fall
The Cheshpur Water fall is a natural water fall in River Johila, situated at a distance of 50 km from Bandhavgarh. It is an ideal location for the tourists to enjoy picnic here.
Jwalamukhi Temple
About 11 km away from Bandhavgarh, this temple is also 10th century founding. It is the temple of the goddess Jwalamukhi situated in the bank of river “Charan Ganga”.
Thing to do in Bandhav garh national park
Open Jeep Safari: Jeep Safaris operate in two shifts, one in early morning at the time of sunrise for duration of 4 hours and then starts again at 2-3pm and goes till the sunset. Each jeep can take up to 6 travelers other than a driver and one naturalist. Visitors typically prefer Tala region to spot tigers. Afternoon shift is typically closed on Wednesdays.
Elephant Safari: Available only in the morning shift, these elephant safaris are on first come first serve basis and charge around Rs. 500 per head to take one to a spot where one can see a tiger in its most natural form. 4 passengers are typically allowed on an elephant and there is a mahout and a naturalist on this trip too.
Trek to Bandhavgarh Fort: A one hour trek is required to reach here from Tala zone and visitors must take a guide to visit this place. There are also a few temples here. The trek is totally worth it to this 800 m high fort as it gives a breathtaking view of the surroundings. There is also a giant 35 feet sleeping statue of Vishnu here. This statue is believed to be dating around 10th century A.D. and Vishnu is shown reclining on the bed made by coils of the Seven Hooded Serpent, called Shesh Naag. The statue is locally known as Shesh Shaiya. There are numerous caves in this fort area and some of them have inscribed paintings and scripts written in Brahmi.

Kandariya Mahadev Temple
Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is largest among western group of temples. It was built by Chandela King Vidydhar. The temple derives its name from Kandara meaning cave in English and Mahadev another name for Lord Shiva. Its shikhara(spire) rises about 30m (100 feet) above the platform which it shares with the older Devi Jagadambi temple depicting Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Mahadev in Himalayas and is surrounded by 84 Urushringaras, the smaller spires erected against the Shikhara.
Devi Jagdambi Temple
Believed to be older then Kandariya Mahadev temple, it is built on the same platform as Kandariya Mahadev .Devi Jagdambi temple was dedicated to Lord Vishnu originally. But now it enshrines the image of Goddess Parvati in Sanctum painted in black to give appearance of Jagdambi (Kali). At the entrance, there is sculpture of a warrior fighting bare handed with a Lion, the symbol of Chandela Dynasty.
Chitragupta Temple
Dedicated to Lord Surya, Chitragupta Temple has 5 ft image of Lord Surya driving a chariot of seven horses. Facing eastwards towards the rising sun, it is the place where most of the dance performances take place during the famous Annual Khajuraho dance festival. There is a Chopra Tank; a deep three-storied stepped well that was built by the Chandelas which is around 200 yards from the temple Chitragupta.
Lakshmana Temple
Built by King Yasovarman, Lakshmana temple is the second largest, and the most beautiful and is considered to be one of the oldest of all Khajuraho temples. Main temple is built on a high platform surrounded by 4 subsidiary shrines which are intact. It is the only Panchayatan temple which is fully intact. Temple entry has an elegant Makara Torana. The lintel over entrance has a figure of trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva with Goddess Lakshmi.
Matangeshwar Temple
Located outside the premises of Western group of temples, it is the only temple where pooja and other religious ceremonies are performed. The temple has 8 feet long shiva lingam.
Chausath Yogini
The only granite temple in the Khajuraho, the very first temple in Khajuraho, Chausath Yogini Temple is dedicated to the 64 yoginis the temple had 67 shrines (out of those around 35 survive). These shrines were considered to be the many manifestation of the goddess Shakti. Regarded to be a 9th millennium monument; this temple is in a dilapidated situation.
Varaha temple
Located in front of Lakshmana temple, it is one of the oldest and smallest temple. Temple has an statue of Standing Varaha (Boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu) which measures 2.6 meters long and 1.7 meter high and is made of sandstone. The temple structure rests on 14 pillars that support pyramidal roof and a Kalash on top.
Parsavnath Temple (Eastern Group Temple)
Parsavnath temple is the largest Jain temple in India built in the honor of Adinath, the first Jain tirthankar. The temple houses an idol of Parsavnath. One of the surprising characteristic of this Khajuraho temple is that it does not have erotic sculptures as are ubiquitous in other temples in Khajuraho. There are many non erotic sculptures of Surasundaris depicting many postures which visitors watch spellbound.
Ghantai Temple (Eastern Group Temple)
Ghantai temple is a Jain temple has played a significant role in the development of Jainism in India. The Ghantai temple is locally so called due to chain-and-bell (ghanta) motifs, carved on its pillars. This temple was of the same design as the Parsvanath temple, grandeur in conception and almost twice as large in dimensions. The carvings etched on the main beam, on top of the door include the sixteen auspicious signs seen in a dream by Lord Mahavira's mother and has a multi-armed Jain goddess hovering on a winged Garuda.
Adinath Temple (Eastern Group Temple)
Located to the north of the Parsvanath temple, Adinath temple is dedicated to Jain saint Adinath. The temple is constructed in the form of 'sapta-ratha' .The walls are adorned with beautifully carved figures including that of Yakshis and court dancer Nilanjana, a famous dancer in the court of Lord Adinath. Other famous temples of Eastern group include, Brahma Temple, Vamana Temple, Hanuman Temple and Javari Temple.
Light and Sound Show
There is a Sound and Light show organized by Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Board every evening, History of Great Chandela Kings and of Khajuraho temples is narrated in the baritone of Bollywood Amitabh Bhachchan. Entry ticket Rs. 120/- for Indians and Rs. 300/- for foreigners. Two shows are held daily, provided it isn’t raining, there’s a minimum of ten people for the show. The first show, in English, is at 7.30 PM; the second show, in Hindi, is at 8.30 PM. There is an entry charges of $US 5 for the western group of temples for foreigners and INR 10 for Indians.
