Gallu Devi Temple: Galu Devi temple located above Dharamkot is the highest point in Mcleodganj which can be approached by the vehicle itself.Galu Devi Temple is devoted to the Lord Shiva. But if you are visiting the Galu devi temple on foot you need to decide one of the road going from main square. One is for persons on foot and other one for vehicles. One on the left is very steep but very short. You need to follow this. Whole of the Trek is surrounded by the cedar trees blocking the sun and offering you cool atmosphere.
Triund: Triund is a small hill station in the Kangra district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The Triund Hill Station is a part of Dharamkot. Triund is at the foot of the Dhauladhar ranges and is at a height of 2,828 m. A trek to Triund is short and simple. It can be done from either McLeodganj or Dharamkot, which is 2km ahead of McLeodganj. The first half of the trek is a gradually inclined walk with the last 2km from Snowline Café which involves a vertical climb all the way till Triund. The evening sky from Triund is a sight in itself and is a good excuse for camping here at night. The trek from Mcleodganj to Triund is a sharp one of over 1100 meters and it is absolutely worth it because of the refreshing walks amongst the Rhododendron and Oak forest.

Trek to Snowline cafe from Triund Click here to know more about Triund
At sharp 9:30AM, we start trek to SnowLine cafe ( The Last cafe on the route) at about 3 hours trek away. the Trek to Snowline cafe is smooth and easy, but yiu need to be careful as we pass through heavy boulders and narrow trail. Reach Snowline cafe by 12:00 PM. Get Surprised to see the supply of food items at this remote cafe and meet the owner who camps here for 6 months just to help trekkers. We have little snack break in Snow line cafe.
Proceed to Ilaka Gote from Snowline cafe
After resting at Snow line cafe, we move to ILaka Gote at 3000 meters. From Snowline Cafe, it is actually half an hour descent towards Ilaka Gote, At Ilaka Gote, you witness temporary shephard huts and lots of Goat droppings. In fact it is one of the stop overs for all Gaddis-Shephards who cross Indrahar pass.
Once you are at Ilaka Gote, you have first Glimpe of Mighty Indrahar Pass and Ilaka Glaciar. Till Now the trail was quite easy. Now onwards the trek will be really demanding and you will gain altitude rapidly.
Proceed to Lahesh Cave from Ilaka Gote
Trek from Ilaka Gote towards Lahesh cave is really tiring and tough. It will remind you of stark chellanges ahead, with Indrahar pass clearly visible as a great high wall in front of you, and lahesh Cave situated at only 25% of the hight of this great wall. Trek to Lahesh cave will really sap you of all your energies, You need to be extra careful to each lahesh Cave, But take it easy, one step at a time. It takes around 2 hours from Ilaka to reach Lahesh.
Reaching Lahesh cave & About lahesh cave
Finally we reach lahesh Cave, It is a Mountain Boulder settled on small rocks. It makes a shelter of about 5 meters in lengh and 6 meters deep. lahesh Cave is enough to house 10 trekkers comfortably. In front of the Lahesh cave, there is a Icy stream of water ( 12 months available) to suppy water for cooking and an adjacent rock outside the cave to relax and having meals.
We will provide you evening snacks outside the lahesh cave. Enjoy the great views while having your evening snacks, By the time it is dusk and we need to go inside the cave to make arrangements for dinner and sleep.
Our team will arrange for the Raw Dry Husk for making the beddings, Also they will make arrangements for the firewood to make you warm, also arrange for preparing the delicious dinner.
All you have to do is to Relax and enjoy our five star hospitality.
We make camp at Lahesh Cave for Night Stay ( Imagine Staying in a Mountain Cave in 3500 meters). In the Night we can offer you required Protein plus drinks to revitalize your energy.
Now, Off to Beds at sharp 10:00 AM as tomorrow morning we need to leave early to Indrahar pass.
Lahesh Cave: Lahesh is on the other side of the Glacier. We crossed the Glacier at the mountain foot and started the steep climb through the white rocks towards Lahesh cave. After a tiring and exhaustive trek we reached Lahesh at about 3:30 PM. A slight rain had started by now and the temperature dropped drastically. I began to shiver and quickly took out my jacket and woolen cap. The view was spine chilling.
Day 03: Lahesh Cave – Chatta Parao (4350 m) Trek/10 km
-
Next day we start early morning at approx 4 AM towards Indrahar pass, as it is strongly advised to reach Indrahar by 9:30 AM. The trail is tough and you need to be very careful while navigating the trail to Indrahar Pass.
-
Enroute Indrahar Pass, You may encounter Shephards ( Gaddis) coming down from Indrahar pass with hundreds ( some times Thousands) of Goats, As the passage is narrow, you are suggested to give-way to this huge train of traffic, otherwise you risk slippary or fall.
-
You need to be patient as some times , it will take one hour for complete herd to pass. Once the herd has crossed, you will be required to trek more cautiously as trail becomes more slippary due to melted snow due to goat hooves and droppings.
-
Just before the Indrahar pass, about 500 meters before, the trail becomes too steep and tough, You need to be very careful here. Rest part our team will ensure, as they will help you on each step.
-
Caution :- You need to take regular breaks enroute Indrahar Pass, so as not to exhaust all you energies, As remember Reaching Indrahar is not the key, but to reacj Next Camp is the Key to safety, Even after you reach Indrahar top, Chellange still remains to reach the Chahta parao, which is still far far away.

This could be, noodles/potatoes, curry, salad, rice anddhal, vegetables, chapatis or bread, teaor coffee/fruitjuices. Sometimes whencrossing high passes or drier regions a packed lunch will be provided which mayconsist of some of thefollowing: bread and jam sandwiches, chapatis, boiledeggs, oranges or apples, chocolate, cartons of juice. Arriving in tocamp –usually there will be tea/coffee and biscuits are available.

It is amazing that our cooks, with quite basic equipment they manage to produce verygood pizzas, fried chips, spaghetti, pasta . On the majority of treks most of the food is carried in from the roadhead, and depending on the area, this may be supplemented by the trek cookpurchasing additional vegetables in villages.
-
It should be understoodthat on long strenuous treks some of the food items would not last the wholedistance, such as eggs, and fresh vegetables like cabbage or cauliflower. Ourchefs are well versed in producing a variety of menus and will almostalways beable to accommodate specific requests. The most common of course is chips, chips and more chips.
-
Meat occasionally is taken on trek ‘on the hoof', and occasionally chickens/Lambs might be purchased on route.Although trekking companies provide ‘snacks' such as boiled sweets or chocolatebars we highly recommend that trekkers bring their own little supply of‘goodies'. Responsible Adventures also provide a variety of ‘goodies' such aschocolate bars, nuts and raisins, fruit bars or perhaps a variety of ‘treats'such as cheesecake mixes, fruits.
-
The trek cooks and helpers are trained to prepare the food hygienically. Special diets Vegetarians can be catered for quite easily. Other special diets can be accommodated withplenty of advance notice.
