How to Reach Chindi

By Road:From New Delhi take NH-1 reach Chandigarh, which is 204 km from Chindi. Then take route to Shimla. From Shimla take the highway 13 cross Dhalli, Suni, Kalangar and reach Chindi

Today after breakfast visit Karsog Valley, Parashar Lake, Shikari Devi Temple, Kamaksha Devi Temple. After cover all sightseeing return to hotel and overnight stay in Chindi.

Karsog Valley - Karsog Valley is well known for its green carpet of meadows, ancient temples, excellent weather and the pollution-free environment. It is a subdivision of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh and noted attractions here include Mamleshwar Mahadev temple, Mahunag Temple and Kamaksha Devi Temple.


Shikari Devi Temple - This temple in Himachal Pradesh is dedicated to Shikari Devi in the form of a stone idol. Tourists access this shrine via trekking from Chindi town. It is one of the main attractions of the Karsog Valley and also accessible from Janjheli. According to ancient legends, hunters from this valley were believed to have worshipped Shikari Mata as their principal deity but they never covered the roof of the shrine. The stone idol sits in the same way until now.


Kamaksha Devi Temple - This is a shakthi peeth dedicated to Goddess Parvati and it is believed to be the site where the tongue of Goddess Durga fell. Thousands of Hindu devotees throng this place during Shivaratri.


Prashar Lake - From Chindi you can also drive to Prashar Lake that is 40 km away from Mandi. It is believed that this was the place where sage Prashar meditated. There is a pagoda style temple on the banks of this lake built in the 14th century by Raja Ban Sen.

After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Manali via Mandi. Mandi is 90 km from Chindi and visit Pangna Lake,  Rewalsar lake later proceed to Manali and upon arrival check into hotel and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast visit some local sightseeing of Manali like Hadimba Devi temple, Rahalla Falls, Monastries , Gompa, Vashisht Temple, Manu temple. In Between your visit have lunch at casa Bella Vista and some rest there. After that came back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

 

Hadimba Devi Temple: Manali has many attractions but the main centre of interest, historically and archeologically, is undoubtedly the Hadimba Temple . This temple dedicated to goddess Hadimba or Hadimba Devi with a finely wrought four - tiered pagoda roof, dating back to 1553, is built around a natural cave, which enshrines the footprints of the goddess Hadimba. Hadimba was the wife of Bhima, one of the five great Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata, and later became the patron goddess of the Kullu. This four story wooden temple is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar.

 

Monasteries: Manali also houses three Tibetan monasteries, that have been built recently. There are three recently built Tibetan monasteries at Manali. The Tibetans living around these Monasteries in Manali offer a wide range of Tibetan Handicrafts and Carpets to the visitors to buy. Two of these Monasteries are located in the main down-town of Manali and one Monastery in Aleo. Aleo is located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali.

After breakfast visit Solang Valley and Rohtang Pass. Solang and Rohtang Pass are the Major attractions of Manali. In Between your visit have lunch at Casa Bella Restaurant, Rest of the day is for your leisure. After that came back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

 

Solang Valley: Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purpose. Located here is a hut and guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is organized in Solang Valley. Skiing and Paragliding are two main activities are organized here. Apart from this many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc.

 

Rohtang Pass: Rohtang Pass is 51 kms from Manali. Located at a height of 3980 Mtrs, on highway to Keylong/Leh. The Pass offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti.The Pass is open from mid April to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Just beyond the Pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas river, a holy site for Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also accessible from the Rohtang Pass. 

After breakfast check out from Hotel and proceed to Delhi. It is around 545 Km and take 11-12 hours to complete Journey. The journey is too long so we will break Journey at Ambala, have lunch and some rest Ambala and then proceed to Delhi. Our representative will drop you at Delhi Airport/Railway Station.

Dhankar Monastery: This Monastery is situated on a cliff between Kaza and Tabo. An amazing view of the Spiti river can be seen from here. This Monastery has a statue of 'Vairocharan' displaying four statues of Buddha seated in the 4 directions, along with ancient paintings, murals and texts. A true insight into Buddhist religion and culture can be procured by a visit to this Monastery.

Dhankar lake: At a distance of 5 km from the Dhankar monastery that sits dangerously on a cliff, lies the Dhankar lake on the other side of the mountain. It takes about an hour to reach the lake after following a well marked trail from the monastery. If you spend enough time at the lake, you can see the sky change colors and reflect on the crystal-like lake.

Pin valley National Park: The another Famous place in Spiti valley is Pin valley National Park. Pin Valley National Park is home for more than 20 species of animals and birds, including the endangered Snow leopard. Pin River flows through the base of the valley. The park is also popular with trekkers who come to see the natural beauty and the wildlife of the park.

Nichar: People come here to embrace mother nature because of its rich green and thick forest and the softness in its weather conditions but be cautious as you proceed to the higher and colder region which is a natural habitat of black and red bears.

Ribba: Ribba also known as 'rirang' gets its name by adding ri, which means chilgoza, which is one of the greatest specialty of Kinnaur and rang, which means mountain peak. The area is famous for its grape orchards and grape distilled alcohols and the innumerable trees with edible pines.

Lippa: Lippa having Taiti stream flowing by and the green grass which is considered nourishing for cattle and horses, is a favorite spot of Buddhists because of the three temples of Galdang ChhoikarDunguir and Kangyur and an old monastery dedicated to local deity Tangtashu.

Baspa River: The Baspa River is a fast flowing river that passes though the hills of Sangla. The surroundings of Baspa River provide an opportunity to view timely rainbows and brown trout. It is also an angler’s paradise for being home to a vast variety of fishes. Crossing this river is also quite an attraction amongst the visitors as this process involves ride in a basket along the way. Its surrounding areas also stand appropriate for campers and trekkers.

Kumaru Fort: The Kamru Fort is situated at an altitude of 2600 m above the sea level . It is located in the picturesque location of the Sangla Valley and is entered through a series of gates. At the main gate of this fort is a large image of Lord Buddha that welcomes you. There is also a wooden balcony at the top of this fort along with an idol of Kamakhya Devi installed in its third floor.This idol of Kamakhya Devi is said to have been brought from Guwahati. There is also a Badrinath Temple situated within the premises of this Kamru Fort. There is also a popular fair held in the place to honour the main deity of the temple. During this fair, the idol of the temple is taken to Gangotri, which is the origin of River Ganges.

Buddhist Monastery: This monastery lies near the Reckong Peo in Brelengi due to which it is also known as Brelengi Gompa. This monastery displays modern Buddhist edifice. It was constructed by the Mahabodhi Society in 1992 for facilitating the Dalai Lama to perform the Kalachakra ceremony. Near to this monastery is a 10 m statue of standing Buddha, visible from a considerable distance.

Sangla Meadow: The Sangla Meadows also known as Sangla Kanda is another natural sightseeing attraction in Sangla. This place is completely covered in greenery and surrounded by snow capped mountain ranges of the Himalayas. This place will also provide a view of the local huts of Himachal along with the customs and lifestyle of its local people.
