After breakfast, proceed for sight-seeing of beautiful and spectacular beaches, Vagator, Anjuna, Calangute and Fort Aguada (famous for Churches), Margao, Colva, Mormugao, Donapaula Bay and Miramar. Fort Auguda
Fort Aguda at Candolium is located approximately 60km from The Leela Goa. Built in early part of seventeenth centaury it’s the well preserved marvel of Portuguese history. It served as water reservoir and stop over for the trading ships. Open all days of the week between 9.30am to 6pm it offers spectacular view of Arabian Sea and the coast line of Goa.It is advisable to wear a comfortable footwear and take umbrellas during monsoons.
Baga Beach is a popular beach and tourist destination in North Goa. Baga is located at the north end of the contiguous beach stretch that starts from Sinquerim, Candolim, leads to Calangute and then to Baga.Dolphins can be located at around 1–2 km from the shorelineThe beach contains rows of shacks and fishing boats, and at high tide the beach is narrow.The beach is named after the Baga Creek, which empties into the Arabian Sea at the north end of the beach.Baga Beach is also famous for parasailing, water sports (banana ride) and dolphin cruises.
St. Alex Church - Calangute Goa
The present massive Church of Calangute is the third one built in the village. The first chapel was built of palm leaves (olas), along the sea-shore, in actual Poriett, in 1576. It was filial to the church of Nagoa. The church was erected, with a cemetery, in 1595 by the Franciscans at the expenses of the Ganvkars (village people) in the same place where there was previously the chapel, this is, in Poriett, where there is still a cross, vestige of the church-cemetery. (It is interesting to note that a procession was taken on holy Friday from the actual church to the cross of Poriett till around 1940, remembering the old church site. today the feast of the holy cross is celebrate in the same place) it was only a simple structure covered with palm leaves. It was set on fire. Soon it was demolished for being too small.
Candolim Beach
The Candolim Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the heavenly city of Goa and is located in Old Goa region. The Candolim Beach begins at Fort Aguada and merges with the Calangute Beach towards the end, and is thus one of the longest beaches in the state. The beach like all other Goan beaches is very calm and peaceful. The sand, the sea, and the scrub covered dunes at the back of the beach makes for a picture postcard setting and is popular among foreigners and locals equally.
Shantadurga Temple
Shri Shantadurga Temple is a large temple complex 33 km (21 mi) from Panaji at the foothill of Kavalem village in Ponda Taluka, Goa, India. A small laterite mud shrine was built and the deity was installed here. The mud-shrine was converted into a beautiful temple whose foundation stone was laid in 1730 and the temple was completed in 1738 and renovated in 1966.The temple is dedicated to Shantadurga, the goddess who mediates between Vishnu and Shiva. The deity is also called 'Santeri' colloquially. Local legends tell of a battle between Shiva and Vishnu The battle was so fierce that the god Brahma prayed to Goddess Parvati to intervene, which she did in the form of Shantadurga. Shantadurga placed Vishnu on her right hand and Shiva on her left hand and settled the fight.
Cavelossim Beach
Cavelossim village, a straggling strip of jewellery and souvenir shops with a strange proliferation of dentists, is a place of large, down-at-heel hotels and apartment complexes, strung along the main road. It’s here that browsers shop for sandals and sarongs, and the two-week brigade settle in to their plain back-from-the-beach abodes. For all that, though, the beach remains long, wide and beautiful, dotted with water-sports vendors and beach shacks, and a nice place for a paddle.

Carnival in Goa
The word 'carnival' is said to be derived from the Latin 'Carne', meaning meat, and 'Vale', which translates to 'good-bye'. Some also link the word to 'Carnislevamen' or 'the pleasures of meat', focusing on the enjoyment of meat during the festivities, before the abstinence that follows during Lent. Poa Carnical :Another hypothesis suggests that the word came from 'Carrus Navalis', the horse-drawn, boat-shaped carriage that was paraded during the Roman festival Saturnalia, in honor of Saturn. It carried men and women in fancy dresses, wearing masks, and singing obscene songs. It is possible that the present-day concept of a carnival emerged from this parade.
