Destination in the package:

Amritsar: Literally translated Amritsar means ‘Pool of Nectar’. It said to be founded by Sikh Guru Ram Das. It has become a spiritual centre for the Sikh community. It is known by many names like Ramdaspur and Ambarsar. It has a population of around 11 lakh people. It is a centre for handicraft and dry fruits trade.  

Attractions Covered:

Wagah Border: It is about 28 kms from Amritsar. It is a unique experience as one gets to see ‘Retreat Ceremony’ performed by the soldiers. One can also see changing of guards and lowering of flags ritual carried out by the army men.

The Golden Temple: It is also known as Har Mandir Saheb and is the Mecca of Sikh community. The shrine got its name,’ The Golden Temple’ from the fact that it has the upper half made up of copper and plated with gold. It has a unique architecture which combines Hindu and Muslim art forms.

Jalianwallah Bagh: It is a memorial. General Dyer has opened fire on innocent Indians who had gathered to inside on 13^th April 1919. Its walls are in the same condition as that date. It has marks of bullets on it.

Durgiana Mandir: It is devoted to Goddess Durga and is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple. It was constructed in 1908 and is based on the design principles of the Golden Temple. It is known as Silver temple.

Baba Atal Rai Tower: It is the tallest tower in Amritsar. It is octagonal in shape and is 33 metres high. It is dedicated to Guru Hargobind and his youngest son, Baba Atal Rai. It was built around 1778.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum: It is located at the centre of Ram Bagh. It is similar to Lahore’s Shalimar Bagh. The Museum has oil paintings, coins and weapons of ancient times.

Package Itinerary

Day 01

You will be greeted by your tour guide at the airport and he will escort you to your hotel. You can unwind a bit and get ready for your sight seeing in the evening. We begin the tour by visiting the Wagah Border. After seeing the various ceremonies performed by Indian soldiers, we head to a good restaurant for a filling dinner. We stay overnight at Amritsar.

Day 02

After a delicious breakfast, we proceed to see the tour’s highlight,’ The Golden Temple’. After that we head to see Jalianwallah Bagh, Durgiana Mandir and Baba Atal Rai Tower. We also see Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum before calling it a day. We have a sumptuous dinner and stay overnight at Amritsar.

Day 03

We have breakfast and check out of our hotel. We head to the airport where the tour guide bids farewell to the guests.
