Must See Places:

Golden Gate Bridge: Built in 1937, it was the world’s tallest bridge. It was also the longest one. The breath taking view against which it has been built makes it more touristic. Its orange colour and artistic towers make the bridge unique and worth visiting.

Fisherman's Wharf: If you are a non vegetarian, you must try Dungeness crab in this food haven. This place is also famous for entertainment in the form of magicians, clowns, fire eaters and other unique things. Live music, dance and comedy shows also can be seen at night.

Alcatraz Island: It has been known for the war and prison there. But one can also see a famous bird sanctuary, a lighthouse, some green beautiful parks and some sea fun in cruises. It has a famous rock which can be viewed from all parts of the land.

                              

Cable Cars: These cars were first started in 1873. Thereon they have been refurbished but they are still kept functional for tourists. A lot of them end up at touristic places like the Fisherman’s Wharf and others.

Golden Gate Park: More than 1000 acres of land is covered under this park and is visited by millions of visitors each year. It has lakes, garden area, and playground, walking trails and many other places within one big area. It hosts many events as well.

Twin Peaks: It is at 922 feet and follows Mt. Davidson in height. It gives a picture perfect view of mountains, wildlife as well as plants. It gives a complete view of Bay area and also has a park adjacent to it.

Asian Art Museum: Just as the name suggests, it includes artistic work belonging to 40 cultures in Asia. It has more than 17000 unique art pieces and some of them are 6000 years old. It has everything from sculptures to paintings and the entry is usually free on first Sundays of the month and charges nominal fees otherwise.

Napa Valley: It is wine country with beautiful roads leading up to it. It is a day trip from San Francisco. Here you can see some vineyards, hear about the history of wines, watch some wine being prepared and of course get to taste some unique varieties.

                               

Golden Gate National Recreation Area: It is 80000 acres of land being preserved in the Bay area for protecting its flora and fauna. It has Muir Woods Monument, Alcatraz and Presidio of San Francisco which are worth seeing.
