History of Jama Masjid Dharamshala
Jama masjid dharamshala was constructed in the year 1719 on 22nd October by Janab Ghulam Rasool, in year 1905 earthquake, there was considerable damage to the mosque, which was however fixed by Masjid Intzamia commitee, then in 1947 partition again the about 80% of the masjid was destroyed, only the inner hall remained, then in 1952 punjab wkf board arranged for reconstruction of mosque, since 1962 the mosque is under waqf board. Then in 1963 first time namaz was offered by 3-4 business men,
in 1995.22.2 dharamshala masjid committee was formed and namaz offering was formally started. On 1.4.1995, imam sahib muhammad kamil jamie came and the work on the deen started in the full district. From 1947 till 1995, Only place where Eid Namaz or Juma namaz was offere was at army masjid yolcamp dharamshala.
