About Dalhousie

Dalhousie is a honeymooner’s paradise & a very beautiful hill station Himachal Pradesh. It is named after the British governor General of the 19th century, Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie is a gateway to the ancient Chamba Hill State, now Chamba District of the Himachal Pradesh. Spectacular snow-covered Dhauladhar Mountains are also visible from this enchanting town. Dalhousie was popular with the British Army personnel in 1860's. The town’s varying altitude shades it with a variety of vegetation that includes stately grooves of pines, deodars, oaks and flowering rhododendron drowns. Rich in colonial architecture, the town preserves range from ancient temples to Gothic styled churches.

Spread over an area of 14 sq km,Dalhousie is built on five hills that offer a gratifying trekking experience to toddlers as well as trekkers.The scenic valley provides impressive scenery of hills resolving in the hustle of mountains and the abundant valleys and elaborate landscapes.With its imperial rivers that whirls and spins  amidst the lush thick woods  of the plains presents delightful scenery of nature.Besides an ethnic picnic spot ,Dalhousie renders fantabulous shopping malls where in all the activities of the town are centered around.A fascinating location at a height of  9000 feet, Dalhousie is hallowed with prominent attractions and its healthy weather with moderate accommodation facilities make it a tourist center of modern times.
