Chhatbir Zoo- Also known as the Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park, Chhatbir zoo, the distinguished zoological garden is located at a distance of 7 kms from Sun Park Resort. The zoo sprawls across an expanse of 202 acres against a stunning green backdrop..The zoo has more than 900 animals belonging to about 90 species. The animals reside in large moats, surrounded by greenery and present an island like ambience. The main attraction of Zoo is the Lion Safari arranged by the Zoo Authorities.
Rose Garden-Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is the largest Rose garden in Asia spread over an area of more than 27 acres of land with about 1600 varieties & more than 17000 plants of rose. Some medicinal plants such as bel, behra, camphor and yellow gulmohar are found here.
Sukhna Lake- Sukhna Lake is a beautiful manmade lake at a distance of 12 kms from Sun Park Resort,situated in the foothills of Shivalik Mountains Range near Chandigarh with a 3 Kms stretch. This lake was the Venue for Asian Rowing Championships and has the longest channel for rowing & yachting events in Asia.Sukhna Lake is a sanctuary for many exotic migratory birds like Storks, Cranes & Siberian Ducks etc. The Lake is fringed by a golf course to the south, and the famous Rock Garden to its west.
Rock Garden-Chandigarh has the distinction of having a unique world acclaimed Rock Garden situated at a distance of 14 km from Sun Park Resort . Chandigarh Rock Garden is an epitome of creativity and innovation. The garden has been created with surrealist arrangement of rocks, boulders, broken chinaware, discarded fluorescent tubes, broken and cast away glass bangles, building waste, coal and clay-all juxtaposed to create a dream folk world of palaces, soldiers, monkeys, village life, women and temples. Rock Garden is molded in the form of an open-air exhibition hall.
Pinjore Gardens- At a distance of 18 kms from Sun Park Resort on Chandigarh-Shimla NH22 is the famous Pinjore Gardens also Knows or Yadvindra Gardens spread over an area of 100 acres. The garden has been laid in seven terraces with the main gate of the garden opening into the highest first terrace which has a palace called “Shish Mahal” built in Rajasthani–Mughal style & the adjoining second romantic palace is called "Hawa Mahal". The second terrace with arched doorways has the "Rang Mahal”. The third terrace has cypress trees and flowerbeds leading to dense groves of fruit trees. The next terrace has the "Jal Mahal" with a square fountain bed and a platform to relax. There is a channel in the middle with fountains located inside. The gardens have cool, shady walks and flagged pathways which run to the outer reaches of the creeper-covered walls. The end structure of the doorway has recently been made into a disc-like open-air theatre.
