Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar (Approx 140.0 km. / 5- 6 hrs)

Har Ki Pauri
This is one of the most popular places in Haridwar, which was built by King Vikramaditya. It is believed that Vikramaditya ordered for this ghat to be constructed in the memory of his brother Bharthari. The most famed spot here is the Brahmakund, which is thronged by devotees from all over the country. Another major attraction of Har Ki Pauri is the evening Aarti that is organized each evening with great zeal. It is in fact one of those events in Haridwar that one should not miss out on. It is placed on the confluence of River Pushpawati and River Hemganga and is also the last human habitation center during the trek. The village lies in the Bhyundar valley. Day 4: Ghangaria - Hemkund Sahib - Ghangaria
Today after light post breakfast, trek to Hemkund Sahib Starts. Hemkund Sahib is a highly revered pilgrimage center among Sikhs, associated with the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. It is believed that he meditated here for several years.
On your way to Gurudwara, you come across attractive views of magnificent Himalayas, cascading waterfalls and lush forests. Referred as Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, Hemkund Sahib is the highest gurudwara of Sikh community that is settled at an altitude up to 4329 meters above the sea level. It is a star shaped gurudwara made up of white marble. Offer sincere prayers at the gurudwara and get the blessings of almighty. Thereafter, return to Ghangaria.

Day 5: Ghangaria - Valley of flowers – Ghangaria
After breakfast 4 km trek to Valley Of Flowers (3858 mt) from Ghangaria. The valley is an enchanting sight with an impressive array of rare wildflowers like brahma kamal, fane Kamal with range of small multicolored flowers makes it a delight for travelers. The snow clad peaks including Nilgiri Parbat (6474 m) stand in bold relief against the skyline. The valley is 10 km. long, 2 km. wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. Day 6: Ghangaria - Govindghat - Rudraprayag
In the morning after having light breakfast we start on the 13 km trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat. Treat your eyes to the wonderful views. As you reach Govindghat, drive to Rudraprayag. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. The remaining day is at leisure. Take rest or explore the place on your own.

Day 8: Haridwar- Delhi (Approx 140.0 km. / 5- 6 hrs)
Today after breakfast we have half day to visit in local sightseeing and temples tour of Haridwar. It includes Pavan Dham, Vishnu Ghat, Bharat Mata Mandir, Parad Shivling. Later in the day, drive to Delhi. Get to the railway station or the airport for onward journey.
Pavan Dham: One of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Haridwar which is famous for its unique temple architecture and craftsmanship. The temple was built in 1970 by Swami Vedantan and ji Maharaj and the temple is also famous for the elaborately adorned idols. The unique and well crafted mirror and glass work is a marvel to behold.
Parad Shivling: This Mercury Shivling is located in Harihar Ashram in Kankhal. The waigth of shivling is about 150 kg. There is also "Rudraksha tree" nearby.
Bharat Mata Mandir: This temple belongs to Mother India. It was inaugurated by Indira Gandhi on 15 May 1983 near river Ganges. The temple has eight stories (180 feet/55 m). Every floor depicts a period in the Indian history, from the time of Ramayan until India's freedom.
Vishnu Ghat: One of the sacred and the most visited Ghats in Haridwar; Vishnu Ghat is named after the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu. It is considered a sacred place as Lord Vishnu took bath at this spot and the water is said to relive all sins.

Chandi Devi Temple
Chandi Devi Temple is perched on Neel Parvat and Built by King Suchat Singh. To reach the temple one has to trek 3.0 kms from Chandi ghat or have to take the cable car. According to legends, it is the same place where Goddess Chandi killed Chanda-Munda, an army chief of the Demon Kings Sumbha and Nishumba. It is also believed that the main deity in the temple was established by the great saint Adi Shankarcharaya in the 8th century.
Maya devi temple
Haridwar was previously known as Mayapuri in reverence to this deity. The temple is a Siddh Peetha which is the places of worship where desires get fulfilled. It is one of three such Peethas located in Haridwar, the other two being Chandi Devi Temple and Mansa Devi Temple.

Boiled in a large open pan, the milk is continuously warmed with all the dry fruits and is served in an earthen pot (kulad) that gives another dimension to the taste of that milk. Summers (June to October starting):

Winters (November to May):

How to reach Hemkund sahib ji
By Air: Helicopter service between Govindghat and Ghangaria available it takes about 5 minutes to reach. The take-off point for Hemkund Sahib is the town of Govindghat, about 275 kilometers from Rishikesh. The 13 kilometer trek is along the well -maintained path to the village of Ghangaria (also called Govinddham).This path can be covered either by walk or a pony ride. A 1,100 meter (3600 ft.) climb on a 6 km hard surface of stone path leads to Hemkund.
By Train: Take the train for Haridwar and then travel by bus to Govindghat via Rishikesh. From here, one starts a trek along Ghangaria village. This 13 km path can either be covered through walking or through a pony ride. Thereafter, another 6 km stoned path (3600 feet) makes Hemkund accessible. Recently, helicopter service between Govindghat and Ghangaria has also been started that takes about 5 minutes.
By railway: Hemkund Sahib does not have a train station, and the nearest station is Rishikesh, at a distance of 139 kms from Hemkund Sahib.
Tourists can drive from Delhi to Govindghat, a distance of about 500 kilometer, taking around 18 hours to cover. Then, a well-kept path to the village of Ghangaria needs to be covered, either by a pony ride or through walking (13 km). Cross another 6 km of stoned pathway to arrive at the Hemkund Gurudwara from here.

Present Gurudwara at Hemkund Sahib
Design and construction of the present gurudwara was started in the mid-1960s, after Major General Harkirat Singh, Engineer-in-Chief, Indian Army visited the gurudwara. Major General Harkirat Singh selected Architect Siali to head the design and construction effort. Thereafter, Architect Siali luddu made annual trips to Hemkunt Sahib and organized and supervised the very complex construction process.
From year 2011, there has been a live telecast of kirtan from the gurudwara sahib on MH1 Channel every morning from 10 AM to 1 PM. At all major prayags there are Hindu temples precisely in the V of the confluence, and it is generally possible to walk down to these temples and watch the water up close.
Season of valley of flowers
May: The Valley of flowers becomes accessible in the last week of May when snow starts melting. In the month of May you will see a lot of snow but very less number of flowers. Advantage in visiting in May is that there will be no to less rain as the rainy season starts in the last week of June.
June: This month is flooded by a lot of pilgrims for Shri Hemkund Shahib, resulting in high cost of Food, Stay and transport facility. Also the availability of rooms gets affected. But, still certain specific flowers can be seen in this month. Also you can enjoy watching huge and beautiful glaciers, waterfalls in the valley of flowers. The biggest benefit in visiting in this month is that there will be very less to no rain. (Rain triggers landslide in this area and your plan may be affected). Rainy season starts only in June end or in first week of July.
July and August: As snow starts melting in May and new plants starts germinating and grow up till now. You will see a lot of flowers blooming till mid July. There are almost 650 verities of flowers in total that can be seen in Valley of Flowers. The Best time to see maximum number of flowers is mid July to Mid August.
September: The September is the autumn season of Valley of Flowers. This is the last month for visiting valley of flower. The plants start drying up and put their seeds on the earth for the next season. Slowly at the end of the month and in the Next Month snow starts falling and the valley becomes inaccessible. The Last official trip to Valley of Flowers is generally taken in the last week of September.

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport to Valley of Flowers but the roads are only connected up to Govind Ghat from where you have to commence trek of 16kms to reach Valley of Flowers. Govindghat is situated at a distance of 292 km. from Jolly Grant Airport. Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights. Govindghat is well connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport. Taxis are available from Jolly Grant Airport to Govindghat.
By Rail: The nearest railway station to Valley of flowers is Rishikesh but the roads are only connected upto Govind Ghat from where you have to commence trek of 16 km. to reach Valley of Flowers. Rishikesh railway station is situated 273 km. before Govindghat on NH58. Rishikesh is well connected by railway networks with major destinations of India. Trains to Rishikesh are frequent. Govindghat is well connected by motorable roads with Rishikesh. Taxis and buses are available from Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Joshimath and many other destinations to Govindghat.
By Road: Valley of Flowers is connected up to Govind Ghat with motoralble roads and from here you have to commence trek of 16kms to reach Valley of Flowers. Alu ke Gutke: Alu ke gutke is a typical Kumaon snacks and is enjoyed by all. The most exciting thing of this dish is the way of serving. Red fried chilies, coriander leaves and some time with tomatoes garnish it also. It is very spicy.
Mandua ki Roti: It is a Chappati made of Mandua Flour, which is a local cereal and very high in fiber which makes it very nutritious.
Singori: Singori is another testy sweet which is a specialty of Kumaon and is prepared from Khoya (Condensed Milk) and coconut. A special feature of this sweet is that is requires a leaf named ‘Molu” which is found in the hills of Uttrakhand.
Singal: It is a high calorie sweet. It’s specially is that it is only prepared during festivals. It is local sweet snack. Banana is also used in this dish.
