Khajuraho Bandhavgarh Tour Package - Package Itinerary

On the day of Arrival at Jabalpur Airport / railway station drive to Khajuraho which is a group of Hindu and Jain temples in Madhya Pradesh. Check in hotel and take some rest. After that you may have lunch in a nearest restaurant. Later you will enjoy contagious views of nearest local tourist attractions of Khajuraho and southern group of temples followed by a light and sound show in the evening. Overnight stay in hotel.

 

After breakfast you will go for full day visit of most exiting places of khajuraho which is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. Here you will visit   Brahma Temple , Vamana Temple , Lakshmana Temple, Chitragupta Temple, Archaeological Museum,  you may have lunch in a good restaurant. Later you will visit for other remaining sightseeing i.e. Kandariya Mahadeva, Jain temples of Khajuraho, Chausath jogini temple, Ghantai temple, Kalinjar fort, Jain Museum. After that come bacckto resort and have dinner. Overnight stay in hotel.

 

Khajuraho:  The Khajuraho group of monuments was built during the rule of the Rajput Chandela dynasty. The building activity started almost immediately after the rise of their power, throughout their kingdom to be later known as Bundelkhand. Most temples were built during the reigns of the Hindu kings Yashovarman and Dhanga. Yashovarman's legacy is best exhibited by The Lakshmana Temple. Vishvanatha temple best highlights King Dhanga's reign. The largest and currently most famous surviving temple is Kandariya Mahadeva built in the reign of King Ganda from 1017-1029 CE. The temple inscriptions suggest many of the currently surviving temples were complete between 970 and 1030 CE, with further temples completed during the following decades

After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Bandhavgarh which is the home to one of the highest number of tigers in India. After reach Bandhavgarh, check in resort and rest of the day free for your leisure. In evening you may go for nearest tribe village tour. At your leisure you may enjoy swimming pool, indoor games and different activities of your resort. Overnight stay at resort in Bandhavgarh.

 

Early morning after have tea/coffee in resort, you will visit for Jungle safari which is start by 6 am. Our gypsy will pick you from resort and take you for Jungle safari. Enjoy beautiful landscape of Bandhavgarh with their amazing wildlife sanctuary. Morning Jungle safari ends 10:30 am, later come back to resort and have breakfast.  At your leisure you may enjoy swimming pool, indoor games and different activities of your resort.

           After post lunch, you will go for evening Jungle Safari which starts by 2:30 pm. After visit all the zonal area of Jungle safari you would be returning at about 5:30 pm. Tea/Coffee Biscuits would be served in the evening. Later take dinner and overnight stay at resort in Bandhavgarh.

 

Bandhavgarh:  This park has a large biodiversity. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of leopards, and various species of deer. Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the first white tiger in this region in 1951. This white tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa. Historically villagers and their cattle have been a threat to the tiger. Rising mining activities around the park are putting the tigers at risk.

Best time to visit Khajuraho and Bandhavgarh

Khajuraho: Khajuraho is a small village in central India. From the village one can see the outcrops of the vindhyan range. The best time to visit khajuraho is during the months of October to march when the average temperature is between 90° and 40° Fahrenheit.

Bandhavgarh: Every year Bandhavgarh National Park is open for visitors from the 15th of October to till 30th of June. As per the climate of Central part of India, the peak season for Bandhavgarh National Park is during winters which is October to March. Most of the tourists visit the park between November and March, mainly because the summer's heat is unbearable. The period between November and February is excellent for visiting Bandhavgarh national park as the rain fall during monsoon rejuvenated all the nature & vegetation. During the time period from March to May most of the vegetation at Bandhavgarh National Park gets dried & Tiger Sighting is relatively easier than it is in winters.

How to Reach Khajuraho

By Air: Khajuraho has its own domestic airport which withstands the operation of flights to and from cities like Varanasi, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal amongst others. Mostly stopover flights are available in this route. The airport is located around 2 km south of Khajuraho. On arriving at the airport, passengers can hire local cabs or taxis to reach to hotel or any other place in Khajuraho.

By Road: Khajuraho is connected by regular bus service with neighbouring places like Jhansi, Satna, Chhatarpur, Mahoba, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Panna, Agra, Allahabad and Varanasi. Both non-AC and AC buses are available in this route.

 By Rail: Though Khajuraho has a station of its own, but very few trains halt here. However, it is directly connected with Delhi by rail. The major railhead is Mahoba, located around 63 km away from Khajuraho. Important trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi, Gwalior, Kolkata, Jabalpur and other major Indian cities halt here. Cabs and autos available outside the station drive passengers to anywhere in Khajuraho.

Places to visit in Khajuraho

Nandi Temple:  Within the popular Viswanath Temple stands a small shrine called the Nandi Temple. It is sdedicated to Nandi Bull, which is considered to be the mount or vahana of the Hindu Lord Shiva. As per Hindu mythology, Nandi also serves as a gatekeeper of Lord Shiva and His wife Goddess Parvati.

Javari Temple: It is a beautiful shrine in Khajuraho, noted for its distinct architecture. This temple, counted amongst the most beautiful shrines of the Eastern Group of Khajuraho Temples, is situated about 200 metres towards the south of the Vamana Temple. It is assumed that since there is no Hindu deity bearing this appellation, this temple might have been named 'Javari' after the one time owner of the land on which it is built.

State Museum of Tribal and Folk Art: It is set in the Chandela Cultural Complex it is an ideal place for history lovers. The museum showcases a vast collection of masterpieces that is symbolic of the rich culture of the region.
There are over 500 tribal antiques, folk paintings, jewellery, masks, terracotta objects, metal craft and bamboo items in this museum. A glance through these artefacts acquaints visitors with customs and traditions of the tribal people as well as the cultural history of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Shantinath Temple: It is a prominent structure in the Eastern Group of Khajuraho Temples. Renowned for its exquisite and beautiful architecture, a number of Digambar Jains visit this shrine every year.

Ayur Arogyam: This is a famous Ayurvedic centre in Khajuraho, was set up by Narayanankutty Nambiar, a native of Kottakkal (popular as the land of Ayurveda in the Indian state of Kerala). He established the centre ‘Ayur Arogyam’ with the aim of offering ‘Healthy Long Living’ to everyone.

Dhubela museum: This museum has eight galleries, each of which is unique and fascinating in its own way. The first two galleries exhibit belongings from the Gupta and Kalchuri dynasties. Here, you can see inscriptions, Sati pillars, copper plates and Shiva Linga. Next is the Jain Gallery that features beautiful artwork like images of Rishabhnath, Gomedh Ambika, Sarvatobhadrika and Chakreshwari.
