Tribal in India and their lifestyle

Indian tribal people play a key part in constructing the cultural heritage of India. They occupy a major part in the history of India as they are considered as the true habitants of India. The tribal people are scattered in different parts of India and they form a considerable number of the population of India. The same term "Adivasi" is used in Sri Lanka to refer to the native Vedda people. The word is also used in the same sense in Nepal as is another word "Janajati", although the political context differed historically under the Shah and the Rana dynasty of Nepal. These Indian tribal groups of people have been notified to occupy more than one State. More than half of the Indian tribal population is concentrated in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand and Gujarat, whereas in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Puducherry and Chandigarh no community has been notified as a specific tribal group.

Types of Tribes

There are several significant types of tribes in history, each is very different and it is helpful to understand both the similarities and unique features of these types of tribes which is mention below.

Foraging Tribes: Foraging Tribes is a combination of smaller kin or non-kin communities linked by a common culture that usually act as one.  Who practice hunting and gathering and share a common culture. These tribes were often female-centric, and their gods were fertility goddesses and earth goddesses who provided bounty of food

Nomadic Tribes:  Horticultural Tribes:  Nomadic Tribes hunted and gathered, but also pillaged in order to survive and prosper. Nomadic Tribes were usually dominated by males and often practiced plural marriages

Agrarian Tribes (communities): An agrarian system is the dynamic set of economic and technological factors that affect agricultural practices. It is premised on the idea that different systems have developed depending on the natural and social conditions specific to a particular region. They have been the most common form of socio-economic organization for most of recorded human history.

Industrial Tribes: Industrial Tribes were built around career which connected them, for economic opportunities in the cities and suburbs.  The more capital you could get invested, the better your tribe fared (at least for a while) versus other tribes. Your tribes probably included a community fundraiser club, donors to the post office Christmas food drive, PTA or home school co-op (or both), church committees, car pool group, racquetball partners, biking team, local theatre, the kids’ choir, lunch with your friends, Cubs or Yankees fans, and the list goes on and on and on.
