Start the tour from Patna/Bihar (via Flight) OR (By Train) to Chandigarh. 

By Air: There is no any direct Flight from Patna to Chandigarh. So take flight Jet Airways ( 9W-73 IL) at 17:00 from Patna  and arrive Delhi at 18:50. There is one stop in this Flight. After arrival at Delhi check into hotel and overnight stay at Delhi. On Next day take Flight Air India ( AI- 436 U) at 11:00 and reach Chandigarh at 12:00. Our representative will meet you at Chandigarh Airport.

By Train: Start your tour by Train. The is direct train from Patna to Chandigarh. Take Train SHC ASR JANSADHARAN (15531) from Patna Junction at 8:35 and reach at Chandigarh Railway Station on 9:00. After breakfast proceed to Shimla by a Separate car. It is around 115 km and take 3-4 hours to arrive. In between your journey have lunch at Gyani Da Dhabha (Dharmpur) and take some rest there. After arrival visit local sightseeing of Shimla like  Jakhu Temple, Kalibari Temple,  Church,  Mall Road, The Ridge. Rest of the day is for your leisure and in evening check into hotel and overnight stay at hotel

Jakhoo Temple: One of The famous place of Worship At Shimla is Jakhoo Temple. Jakhoo hill is located the famous Jakhoo Temple of Shimla. It is hardly 2 kilometers from the Ridge and is an uphill climb through the beautiful deodar trees. The Jakhoo Temple of Shimla is dedicated to the monkey God, Hanuman. The temple is located at the Height of 2455 meter and situated at highiest peak in Shimla.

Kalibari Temple: The another famous place of worship is Kalibari Temple of Shimla. This is a popular tourist attraction and is situated at a very strategic location. The temple was built in the year 1845 and is dedicated to Goddess Kali who is also known as Shyamala. Shimla derived its name Fom Goddess Shyamala.

After breakfast proceed for visit Kufri which is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 13 km from the state capital Shimla. The name Kufri is derived from the word kufr meaning "lake" in the local language. Kufri has a Himalayan wild life zoo which hosts rare antelopes,  felines and birds including the Himalayan monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. After that came back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

The Himalayan Nature Park : Sprawled across 90 hectares and comprising of a diverse range of western Himalayan flora and fauna, the Himalayan Nature Park (also referred to as the Kufri National Park) is home to a large variety of animals.

Mahasu Peak: This is the highest point in Kufri, so great views are a given-on a clear day you can even see the Badrinath and Kedarnath ranges, but the best way to do it is by undertaking the challenging hike through a thick forest.

Hadimba Devi Temple: Manali has many attractions but the main centre of interest, historically and archeologically, is undoubtedly the Hadimba Temple . This temple dedicated to goddess Hadimba or Hadimba Devi with a finely wrought four - tiered pagoda roof, dating back to 1553, is built around a natural cave, which enshrines the footprints of the goddess Hadimba. Hadimba was the wife of Bhima, one of the five great Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata, and later became the patron goddess of the  Kullu. This four story wooden temple is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar. 

Monastries: Manali also houses three Tibetan monasteries, that have been built recently. There are three recently built Tibetan monasteries at Manali. The Tibetans living around these Monasteries in Manali offer a wide range of Tibetan Handicrafts and Carpets to the visitors to buy. Two of these Monasteries are located in the main down-town of Manali and one Monastery in Aleo. Aleo is located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali.

Solang Valley: Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purpose. Located here is a hut and guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is organized in Solang Valley. Sking and Paragliding are two main activities are organized here. Apart from this many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc.

Rohtang Pass: Rohtang Pass is 51 kms from Manali. Located at a height of 3980 Mtrs, on highway to Keylong/Leh. The Pass offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The Pass is open from mid April to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Just beyond the Pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas river, a holy site for Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also accessible from the Rohtang Pass.

Rose Garden:  The one of the major attraction of Chandigarh is rose Garden. Spread over 30 acres the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is the largest botanical garden in Asia that is dedicated to roses. The garden is named after Zakir Hussain the former President of India. Apart from roses the garden also features several verities of medicinal herbs.

Rock Garden: The Another Attraction of Chandigarh is Rock garden. The name refers to a sculpture garden located near Sukhna Lake. The Rock garden is also known by the name Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder. Nek Chand was a former government official who started cultivating this garden secretly in his spare time. He kept it hidden from the government authorities for 18 years, till 1975. The garden features several interlinked causeways that run along the waterfalls of the Sukhna Lake and is landscaped with pottery and sculptures of dancers, animals and musicians.

Shimla

Christ Church & St. Michael's Cathedral: The famous Christ church & St. Michael's Cathedral of Shimla is a beautiful architectural masterpiece. The construction of this church took a span of 11 years (1846 - 1857) and is considered to be the second oldest church in North India. The church looks absolutely magical during night when lights placed at strategic corners illuminate this beautiful church. It is designed in the typical Elizabethan style and consists of a great collection of books and ancient scriptures.

Mall Road Shimla: The Mall Road is the main street in Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. All colonial structures are located on the Mall Road.  The Mall Road is also famous for its wooden furniture shops that sell exquisite wooden articles, which look like antiques.


Manali: 

Tibetean Monestry Manali: The another famous location is Tibetean monestry. Manali has various colorful monetries. These monasteries serve not only as a place of worship but also as guardians of the rich culture and history of the Tibetan people settled in Kullu and Manali. 

Manu Temple Manali: A famous and significant pilgrimage spot, the Manu Temple is the only temple in India for Lord Manu, the legendary sage who stayed in this area. Manali got its name from lord Manu. Its close connection with the seventh incarnation of the sage is due to mythology that states his saving the Vedas and the seven sages from inundation during the great flood.

Hidimba MandirHidimbi Devi Temple, also known variously as the Hadimba Temple, is located in Man?li, a hill station in the State of Him?chal Pradesh in north India. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, wife of Bhima, a figure in the Indian epic Mah?bh?rata. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest at the foot of the Him?layas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground which was worshiped as an image of the deity. The structure was built in 1553.

Vashisht Temple: Vashisht, a small village 3 kms from Manali located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali towards Rohtang pass is worth a visit, which is renowned for its Hot Water Springs and Temple. The village is also the site of some old temples, dedicated to the great sage Vashisht, and to Lord Rama. The Himachal Tourism sulphur baths are just beyond these shrines. Natural Hot Sulphur Water Springs with two separate bathing tanks for Gents and Ladies, which are always full of tourists. Turkish Style Showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby Spring is provided for bathing.

Jagatsukh Temple: The one time capital of Kullu. Here are old temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and to Sandhya Gayatri. The Arjun caves are just ahead.

Rahalla Falls:  It is 51 km from Manali. Located at a height of 3980 m, the Pass once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti.The Pass is open from June to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Museum and Art Gallery: The massive art Gallery is located in sector 10 and is one of the most interesting places in Chandigarh. The museum contains antiquities from the Indus valley civilization to different paintings and coins from the ancient and historical times. The gallery also contains the dinosaur fossils which were excavated in the region.

Chattbir Zoo: Also known as the Mahendra Chaudhry Zoological Park, the zoo houses a huge number of exotic and wild animals, birds and reptiles. The thing to watch out for at this zoo is the famous lion safari.

Temperature of Shimla

WINTERS
Shimla enjoys heavy snowfall in December and January, making it a perfect destination for snow lovers and winter sport enthusiasts from across the world. Though winter begins in November.

SUMMERS
The average maximum stands at low-twenties, while the minimum drops below 15 degrees. Shimla remains hot and humid with June being the hottest month of the year when the city occasionally witnesses more than 28°Celsius of temperature.

MONSOONS
July to September witnesses a high level of precipitation with July and August receiving more than 300 mm of rain. The average maximum of the season hovers around 20 degrees while the minimum fluctuates between 12° to 14° Celsius.

Temperature in Kufri 

Summer season in Kufri: Summers in the region starts in April and lasts till June. The season is very pleasing with temperate climate, with mercury levels in the range of 12°C to 19°C. Summer is ideal for all tourist activities. Hence for tourists it is the best time to visit Kurfi.

Monsoon season in Kufri: Monsoons are from July to September and are followed by scanty showers with temperature drooping down to about 10°C.

Winter season in Kufri: Winter start from October and lasts till March. The place becomes very cold during this season with chilly days and an average minimum touching below subzero levels. Snow fall is very regular during winters. It is not at all the best time to visit Kufri.

Rohtang weather

Rohtang Pass in Manali is 51 km from there and is the most attractive destination due to the snow covered hills all around the pass. It is at an  altitude of 4111 metres  on the Manali – Keylong highway. The pass is opened for the tourists in the month of June. Tourists can enjoy snow biking, paragliding, trekking on snow and also horse riding there. The scenic beauty of Rohtang Pass and the surrounding valleys has no words to express as it’s a great experience to watch the snow clad hills and mountains. To enjoy playing on snow and not being get wet, can hire warm clothing available there. Tourists can enjoy having fast food items in the stalls on the roadside of the Pass. Traditional dresses on rental basis are available there for photography. Yak ride is also available there.

Solang Valley Temperature

Summer in the region starts in the month of March and lasts till June. It is the best time to visit Manali if you want to enjoy paragliding, rafting and mountain sports in Solang Valley. Temperature ranges from 10°C to 25°C and the weather remains pleasurable during the day and cold during the night.b Rohtang Pass is not accessible in winters and it opens from the month of May to October. June is best time to visit Rohtang Pass as the weather is just next to perfect.

Nearest Railway Station to Shimla

The nearest railway station to Shimla is Kalka. It is situated at a distance of 96 km from Shimla and from this place it takes average 6 hours to reach Shimla. Many tunnels are on this Shimla and Kalka route with the longest being 1.2 km. The scenic beauty is simply beyond any explanation. As far as the frequency of trains is concerned, it is pretty good and on an average around 4 trains ply on this route. Before leaving for Shimla, do explore Kalka also.


Best Time to Visit Shimla

May - August

Shimla has amazing weather and tourists can go to Shimla anytime of the year. The summers in Shimla are extremely pleasant with the average temperature around 20 degrees. The peak tourist season in Shimla is from March to June, as this is the time that the snow has melted and the weather is enjoyable for those who have been trying to escape the harsh summers of the plains. After June, the monsoon season starts, which makes it slightly inconvenient to travel around the town. Post September, the weather starts becoming colder and it starts snowing occasionally by the mid of December till the end of February. This is the perfect place to go for trekking, paragliding and other adventure sports.


How to Reach Shimla

By Air: Shimla can be easily reached by air. The place has its own airport at a place called Jubbarhatti, which is located at a distance of 23 kilometers from the main city center. Flights from New Delhi, Chandigarh and Kullu operate on a daily basis. 

By Train: Shimla is connected by a narrow gauge line with Kalka (96 km) which in turn is connected with the major cities in India. The toy train journey from Kalka to Shimla is enchanting with 107 tunnels and lofty arched bridges. The duration of the journey is around six hrs. The frequency of trains that ply from Kalka to Shimla is pretty good, with atleast 4 trains plying to and fro from Shimla.

By Road: Shimla is connected to major cities in North India by several bus services including Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses as well as private operators. From Delhi, you can take an overnight air conditioned luxury bus from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Buses leave in the morning or later at night. Local bus services is frequent in Shimla City from 7 am to 9 pm and buses are available to all the places in the city.
