Why Tourist must visit Jorpokhri
Jorpokhri is a small rarely visited hamlet near Darjeeling. The place lies on the road connecting Darjeeling with Mirik at a distance of about 16 km from Darjeeling. The lake is one of the very few places where you might get a glimpse of Himalayan Salamander, a highly endangered species of reptile.
Jorpokhri is also famous for Himalayan Salamander which is only found in Jorpokhri Wildlife Sanctuary here you can get different types of endangered reptiles.

Day 01: Arrived at Bagdogra airport or railway station and proceed to Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary (12km/20 min)
Arrive at Bagdogra airport or railway station and you will proceed towards Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary which is a tiny place on a hilltop and located in Darjeeling district. Upon arrival check in to Sanctuary resort and you may have lunch at same resort. After lunch you will be taken towards Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary for visit see such famous high-altitude animals like Himalayan Salamander, locally known as Gora. Day 02: Full Day excursion of Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast start your day by visiting famous Lake of Jorepokhri, The main features of Jorpokhri is its twin lakes after which the places has been named Jor means two and pokhri stands for a lake. In Lakes you might be able to see the rare Himalayan Salamanders that are small Lizards like amphibian. After enjoy at lake side you will return back to hotel/Resort and you may have rest of the day free at your leisure. By the evening you can see sunset from your hotel side. Day 03: Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary to Kalipokhari (94km/2 Hours)
After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed towards Kalipokhari which is a small pleasant village where you can find trekking activity. Upon arrival check in to well arrange camp and rest of the day free at your leisure. By the evening they will provide trekking tips and knowledge, then you will visit for walk, after that you will come back to camp and overnight stay with dinner and enjoy night campfire at Kalipokhari camp

Day 04: Kalpokhari – Sandakphu - Kalpokhari (1.3 km/10 min)
After post breakfast start your tour from 07:00 am and trek towards Sandakphu which is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border. Trek from Bikhebhanjang to Sandakphu is a steep climb of 4 Kms and takes more than an hour to cover this trek. It takes 3 – 4 hours to reach Sandakphu hills from Kalpokhari. Sandakphu 3636 meter is 58 Kms from Darjeeling and commands one of the most spectacular views. After reach sit for a while and enjoy panoramic view of beautiful hill and admire beauty of world famous hill top Kanchenjunga. Enjoy your packed lunch at cool environment and then you may have time to spend your day at Beautiful Sandakphu hill. At approx 03 o clock you will return back to Camp by trekking. By the evening you will reached at your camp and overnight stay with dinner at Kalpokhari camp.

Jore Pokhri Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Darjeeling District, West Bengal. It is the habitat of some high-altitude animals like Himalayan Salamander. About Sandakphu
Sandakphu or Sandakfu or Sandakpur is the highest peak in the district of Ilam, Nepal and West Bengal, India. It is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border. The peak is located at the edge of the Singalila National Park and has a small village on the summit with a few hostels. Sandakphu epitomizes the wild elemental grandeur of the snows. Bagdogra, the gateway to the colours of North East states of India, is located approximately few kilometers away from the commercial hub of Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri in North Bengal of the Indian state West Bengal. Your drive from Bagdogra to Darjeeling starts heading towards Matigara keeping onto the National Highway 31 and Khaprail Road. Steer your wheels onto the Hill Cart Road and head towards Pankhabari followed by Kurseong. Keep onto the Hill Cart Road that connects to the Tenzing Norgay Road and thereafter en route Ghoom merge onto the Jayal Road to connect the Gandhi Road in Darjeeling.

Jorpokhri is small and beautiful hill station around 7200 feet above sea level in north of West Bengal. This is one the best places to get a majestic view of the entire Mt. Kanchenjunga Hill.
The only lodging option here is an exotic wooden bungalow with 2 double bed rooms and 2 double suites. There is a lobby on the first floor of the bungalow with a single balcony; from here you can get a glimpse of the gorgeous Mt. Kanchenjunga.
A few new rooms in the annex building are now available and offer a view of the mountains. The cottage is landscaped with gardens and lawns. Food is served only in the dining room and it is essentially Indian cuisine. There are 18 rooms out of which 6 are attic rooms with wonderful views of the mountains. All rooms are well furnished with TV, 24 hours hot water.
Attic rooms have full wood paneling. There is also an in-house restaurant serving standard Indian and Chinese cuisine at reasonable prices.
