Raas: A curry, which is prepared with a combination of various Daals and is usually eaten during the winter season, with steamed rice and Bhang ki Chutney. Bhatt ki Churkani: This is a prominent part of festivals and celebrations in Nainital and is made of rice paste and plain flour. This dish usually acts as a dry accompaniment to curry-dishes.

Baal Mithai: This chocolate like fudge is actually prepared by roasting khoya till it turns a muddy brown, and is then coated with white sugar balls. The best place to try out this one is Bada Bazaar, where this sweet is still prepared at old shops.
