Ideal time to visit: Best time to visit these places are either between March to April or in post monsoon season of September to November as the temperature is pleasantly cool and the sky is usually clear.

The trip covers Gangtok (27.3300° N, 88.6200° E), Kalimpong(27.0600° N, 88.4700° E) and Darjeeling (27.0500° N, 88.2667° E). Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim located at a height of 5500 ft while Darjeeling(6710 ft) and Kalimpong (4101 ft) are located in West Bengal. Bangali, English and Nepali are the main languages spoken in Darjeeling and Kalimpong while the main languages spoken in Gangtok are English, Hindi, Bhutia, Tibetan and Lepcha.

Day 1: Bagdpgara - Kalimpong (70km/2.5h)

Our representatives will pick you up from Bagdogra Airport / NJP and will take you to Kalimpong . The road to Kalimpong is mystic and serene as it passes through the dense forests of Mahananda Sanctuary where you can spot wild elephants and herd of deers while passing. Enroute we will take a stop Sevok from where you can see the breathtaking views of Tista River flowing between the mountains. From here the river will accompany us and the road will take a path of sharp turns as closer we move to our destination.

Upon reaching we Check in at Hotel.

After rest we leave for local sightseeing.

We will visit Zang dhok palri phodang monastery that is the largest Monastery in Kalimpong. This monastery was established in 1976 by his holiness Dalai Lama. From here we will driver to Durpin dara view point that is close to the monastery and is situated at a height of 4500ft. You can enjoy beautiful panoramic view of Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan peakswith panoramic view of the valley. Rest of the day will be free for marketing and excursion on your own. You can go shopping at Kalimpong bazaar from where you can buy traditional handicraft items like woolen garments, wooden masks and Tibetan paintings.Overnight and dinner in Hotel

Day 2: Kalimpong – Gangtok (90km/3h)

You’ll check out from the hotel in the morning and drive for Gangtok. En route you’ll take a stop at Delo view point. This view point is at 5500ft and is the highest point of Kalimpong. This point has a very picturesque view of the snow filled mountains and the Tista River Valley. From here we will continue driving for Gangtok. On our way back you’ll be visiting the historical house of Dr. J A Graham, one of the earliest Scottish Missionaries, who established an orphanage and a farm house here. These buildings and the chapel is a wonderful example of old European architecture. From here we will drive for Gangtok and check in to the hotel. You’ll also be enjoying White Water Rafting at Tista River on the way to Gangtok.Rest of the day will be free for excursion and shopping on your own.

Day 3: Gangtok Sightseeing

We will leave from the hotel early morning and go for local sightseeing around Gangtok town. We will visit Government institute of cottage industry where beautiful carpets and hand carved tables and furnitures are made exhibited for sale. Later we will Visit orchid house that has some rare orchids and ornamental plants. The sikkim research institute of tibetology has world's largest collection of books and rare manuscripts on Mahayana Buddhism along with many religious works of art and rare Thangkas (paintings). The 108 prayer wheels built by late Trulsi Rimpoche is just beside the institute known as Dodurl chorten. This is one of the most important and biggest stupas in Sikkim.

The Rumtek dharma chakra center: This place is 24 km away from Gangtok and is the seat of His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa Rinpoche, head of the Karmapa sub sect of Kargyudpa order of Tibetan Buddhism.

Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies: This place is just adjacent to the Monastery and is a great place to research about Buddhism and the sects.

Jawaharlal Nehru botanical garden: This botanical garden has an amazing collection of well-tended tropical and temperate plants and is filled with greenery and picturesque surrounding.

Shanti view point: This point provides scenic and panoramic view of the Gangtok valley

Day 4 – Gangtok to Tsongo Lake(38km/1h)

Today we will leave from the hotel in the morning and drive for Tsono lake. This lake is at an altitude of 12000ft at Indo- Tibet border. The day will be given for the couples to enjoy snow and Yak ride at the scenic lake.

From here we will drive to Babamandir at an height of 13000ft It was built in memory of a soldier in the 23rd Punjab Regiment.

Day 5 – Gangtok to Darjeeling (96km/2h)

In the morning we will check out from the hotel and drive for Darjeeling. The river valleys of of River Rangit and River Tista will accompany us throughout the route that looks mesmerizing. We will take a stop at Melli and watch the confluence of both the rivers along with the panoramic view of the valley.

From here we drive for Darjeeling where upon reaching you’ll be transferred to the hotel. The day will be free for leisure and shopping. Overnight and dinner in the hotel.

Day 6 – Darjeeling Sightseeing

Today we will leave from the hotel and proceed for local sightseeing. Today we will be visiting places like

Tiger hill: Located at a height of 8442ft this peak gives amazing views of of Sunrise over the snow covered Himalayan peak of Kanchenjunga. The summit at Tiger Hill gives a beautiful panoramic view of the surroundings.

Ghoom monastery – Ghoom is one of the oldest monasteries in Darjeeling.

Batasia loop – This place has a beautiful garden and War Memorial. The surrounding location provides nice views with the backdrop of snow covered mountains.

Padmaja naidu zoological park –Here you can see a rare collection of high altitude Himalayan species like Snow leopard, clouded Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Red Panda and many rare mammal and birds in the natural surroundings.

Himalayan mountaineering institute – A famous institute for trekkers and mountaineers in India here you can see a collection of some amazing trekking gears.

We will proceed for a toy train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom that goes between amazing surroundings, valleys and peaks. Ghoom is the highest rail station in India and the entire journey takes 1.5 hours.

Day 7 – Darjeeling – Bagdogara/NJP (68km/2h to Bagdogra airport and 70km/1h to NJP station)

Today you’ll be checking out from the hotel in the morning and we will drop you at the Bagdogara airport or NJP station for your further journey. Your trip will end here.

These places are famous for the rich Tibetan cuisine like Mo mo and Thukpa along with Chinese and continental items also being served on the menu. The Darjeeling tea is a very popular and exotic item here.

Fairs and Festivals

Darjeeling Carnival: This is a ten day colorful event that brings the entire community of Darjeeling together giving tourists an idea of diverse culture of this place.

Loshar Festival: Loshar is celebrated as the new year of the Tibetans that falls in the month of February. The celebration goes on for a week and is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Tibetan youth who perform the traditional Yak Dance on the dressed in multi colored clothes. This festival is celebrated in both Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

Gangtok is famous for its musical concerts and fests showcasing its music and rock culture of Sikkim.
