After Tirupati our next stop would be at Rameshwaram the ancient city where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva for his grace and set up the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple. This place has significance in Ramayana as Lord Rama travelled to Lanka to wage a war against the demon king Ravana, from here. This is also the place where Lord Hanuman came back from Lanka to give news about Devi Sita. Therefore, Rameshwaram has many famous temples and holy sites greatly revered by Hindus.

 The trip to Rameshwaram includes visit to Ramanathaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingams. The other temples included in the trip are Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Hanuman Temple, Badrakaliamman Temple, Saatchi Hanuman Temple, Five-Faced Hanuman Temple, Nambu Nayagiamman Temple. We will also take you for the darshan of Lakhshmana Tirtham, Gandhamadan Parvatham, Jada Tirtham and Adam’s Bridge or Rama Sethu the other highly venerated holy sites in the island city.

Madurai which is also known as ‘Athens of the East’ will be the last stop. It is the third largest city of Tamil Nadu and well connected by rail, road and air. The major attraction of this city is Sree Meenakshi Amman Temple which has great religious importance and thousands of pilgrims visit the temple every day. Sri Meenakshi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. The Madurai visit also includes other temples of religious significance like Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple, Koodal Azhagar Temple, Pazhamudhir Solai, Alagarkoil Temple and Shrine, Pazhamudhir Solai, Kalamegaperumal Temple, Arittapatti Shivan Temple.

The tour starts from Tirupati and ends at Madurai.

Package itinerary:

Day 1(Sunday): We receive our guests at Tirupati Railway Station/ Airport  in afternoon and they are transferred to the hotel by standard car/taxi. We help our guest in hassle free check-in at the hotel we have booked for their stay.

Day 2(Monday): After you freshen up, we start with full day temple tour at 6.00 am in the morning.

First visit to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and perform the Special Entry Darshan or Seegra Darshan for which the guests should make online reservation and buy tickets by paying Rs. 300/- in advance. Perform puja and make offerings-take Laddu prasadam/Annaprasadam.

Laddu Prasadam: One person can buy 4 laddus for Rs 100 at a time.

Annaprasadam is free of cost.

Next visit Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple at Tirupati is considered one of the most important temples at Tirupati and it is devoted to Sri Govindaraja Swamy who is the elder brother of Sri Balaji. Our guests can avail the quick darshan by paying Rs 20/-, perform puja and make offerings.

                

Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanoor is devoted to Goddess Padmavathi who is the incarnation of Goddess Lakhshmi and the consort of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. The deity has four hands and is sitting in Padmasana. This temple has three smaller temples in its premises namely Sri Krishnaswamy Temple, Sri Sundara Rajaswamivari Temple and Sri Suryanarayana Swamivari Temple. Visitors have to pay an entry fee of Rs 5/- per person.

Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple, Tirupati is located 3km to the north of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the region. It has a waterfall called Kapila Teertham and pilgrims can take a holy bath here.

Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Tirupati is dedicated to Rama, Laxman, Sita and was built by a Pallava King to mark the visit of Rama, Lakshman, Sita to Tirupati.

 Sri Veda Narayana Swamy Temple is dedicated to the Matsya incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple was built by Raja Krishnadeva Ray and his queen mother Nagamba. This temple also has many sub-temples and there is no entry fee to this temple.

                  

Sri Agastyaswamy Temple, has separate shrines for Rama, Sita, Lakshama and Hanuman and for goddess Parvati and is known for three magnificent entrances.

Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple is devoted to Sri Venugopalaswamy and his consorts Sri Rukmini Ammavaru and Sri Satyabhama Ammavaru. 



Sri  Kalahasti Temple is a must visit as it is one of the five panchabhoota sthalam and represents the element of wind. It is one of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Shiva constructed by the Chola and Vijayanagara kings.

                 

Day 03(Tueday)  Duration – 6 AM – 6PM

Tirupati to Rameswaram(Rail Distance:737Km, Road Distance: 646km)

Travel to Rameswaram by Train

Board Okha-Rameswaram Express (16734) from Tirupaty(TPTY) junction  2nd AC Slipper Class at 6:05 hrs and reach Rameswaram at 19:45 hrs same day.

From the Railway station we take our guests to the Hotel booked for their overnight stay. Dinner is arranged

Day 4 (Wednesday)

Duration – 6 AM – 6PM

In the morning the guests must freshen up and get ready for whole day temple tour.

Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple is one of the Char Dhams, the other three being Jagannath Temple in Puri, Dwarkadheesh Temple in Dwarka, Badrinath Temple in Badrinath (Uttarakhand). The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Ramanathswamy (Shiva).

                

Agniteertham is located 100m away from the main entrance of Ramanathaswamy Temple.It is belived that Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva At this place after demolishing Ravana. The place is flocked by Hindu pilgrims who take a bath at this place for purity of soul and mind.

Badrakaliamman Temple: Dedicated to Goddess Durga this temple is the largest temple dedicated to the divine mother Kali in the whole of South India. The statue of the deity is in gold and pilgrims from different corners of the world throng to the temple to pay obeisance to her divine form. The temple also houses a gold studded tower. This temple exists from the ancient times and has been renovated by different rulers from time to time.

Gandhamdhana Parvatham is located on a hill top and houses the marble image of the footprint of Lord Rama

Kothandaramaswamy Temple It is believed that Ravan’s brother Vibhishana joined Lord Rama to help him in his victory against the demon king. An ancient tree Athi Maram and a tank named after sage Bhringhi are present within the temple premises. The temple is situated close to Nandavanam or Nandambakkam, the place where Lord Rama stayed at rishi Bhringhi’s ashram.

Hanuman Temple: The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Hanuman, who played an important role in Ramayana. In this temple one can feel the divine presence of Hanuman. The temple is visited by any pilgrim who comes to Rameswaram.

 Saatchi Hanuman Temple situated close to RamanathaswamyTemple and Gandhamadana Parvatam. This place draws its significance from the story of Ramayana. It is believed that Hanuman came to this place and met lord Rama after coming back from Lanka with the whereabouts of Sita. In this place Hanuman gave the Chudamadi of Sita to Rama.

                 

Five-Faced Hanuman Temple is one of the highly venerated temples in Rameshwaram, as here it is believed that Lord Hanuman his five faces. These five heads are that of Lord Hanuman, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Narashima, Lord Hayagriva and Lord Garuda

Villondi Tirtham is the place where Lord Rama buried his bow before he shot an arrow on the sea to extract fresh water to quench the thirst of his wife Devi Sita. This is the only place in the sea where fresh water can be found. This place is also popular for the Ekantha Ramar Temple where Lord Rama is believed to have lived fpr some days before he left for his search for Sita.

Shopping at Madurai

After you reach Madurai in the afternoon, we take you to the hotel. In the evening, we leave you to shop at famous markets of Madurai like Thevangu Chetty Choultry, Avanimoola, Puthumandapam and Chithirai. The city has always been famous for handloom silk and cotton saris and readymade garments and the rush of people in these markets is always high. Madurai is dotted with markets owned by co-operative societies and private enterprises who sell high quality handloom silk which is famous all over the world.

Apart from fabrics you can pick up some handcrafted pieces and artifacts which are fine examples of the artistic skill and craftsmanship of the people of south India. Poompuhar Handicrafts Shop, the Madurai Gallery and the Cottage Arts Emporium must be visited for hand-woven silks and cottons, stone carvings, bronze images, wood and bell-metal lamps.

Temple tour in Madurai

Sree Meenakshi Amman Temple, is the most magnificent and grand temple in the entire South India. With its breathtaking architecture and divine atmosphere, pilgrims spends hours in appreciating the splendor and beauty of this temple which has many legends and myths attached to it. Goddess Meenakshi, the incarnation of Parvati is the chief deity of this temple and Lord Shiva is present here as Sundareshwar.

                 

Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple,is situated on hill called Thiruparankundram and is carved out of mountain rocks. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and his consort Deivayanai. The temple is one of the six most important places of worship of Lord Murugan.

 Koodal Azhagar Temple is dedicated to the city of Madurai and its chief deity is Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is believed to reside here and the city happens to be one of the 108 divyadesams. The richly carved walls, the ornate interiors are eye-catching. Lord Vishnu resides here in three forms in the three levels of the temple. 

Pazhamudhir Solai is located in the midst of thick forest which is rich in herbs and fruits. The deity of this temple is lord Murugan and he presides here with his wives Villai and Deiviyani. It is also one the six abodes of lord Murugan.

                 

Alagarkoil Temple and Shrine is located in the Alagar hill and Lord Vishnu is the deity of this temple. It is said that Yudhishthir and Arjuna had visted it and Saint Ramanujam’s chief disciple had gained his eye-sight by worshipping in this temple. There also exists 2,000 year old Sudarshan-chakra in this temple.

Arittapatti Shivan Temple is an example of one of the earliest rock-cut temples of the Pandayan Age. It is called Idaichchi Mandapam by the people of the region and the Shiva Linga is carved out of the rock.

Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanoor is devoted to Goddess Padmavathi who is the incarnation of Goddess Lakhshmi and the consort of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. The deity has four hands and is sitting in Padmasana. This temple has three smaller temples in its premises namely Sri Krishnaswamy Temple, Sri Sundara Rajaswamivari Temple and Sri Suryanarayana Swamivari Temple. Visitors have to pay an entry fee of Rs 5/- per person.

Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple, Tirupati is located 3km to the north of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the region. It has a waterfall called Kapila Teertham and pilgrims can take a holy bath here.

Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Tirupati is dedicated to Rama, Laxman, Sita and was built by a Pallava King to mark the visit of Rama, Lakshman, Sita to Tirupati.

 Sri Veda Narayana Swamy Temple is dedicated to the Matsya incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple was built by Raja Krishnadeva Ray and his queen mother Nagamba. This temple also has many sub-temples and there is no entry fee to this temple.

                  

Sri Agastyaswamy Temple, has separate shrines for Rama, Sita, Lakshama and Hanuman and for goddess Parvati and is known for three magnificent entrances.

Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple is devoted to Sri Venugopalaswamy and his consorts Sri Rukmini Ammavaru and Sri Satyabhama Ammavaru. 



Sri  Kalahasti Temple is a must visit as it is one of the five panchabhoota sthalam and represents the element of wind. It is one of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Shiva constructed by the Chola and Vijayanagara kings.

Board Okha-Rameswaram Express (16734) from Tirupaty(TPTY) junction  2nd AC Slipper Class at 6:05 hrs and reach Rameswaram at 19:45 hrs same day.

From the Railway station we take our guests to the Hotel booked for their overnight stay. Dinner is arranged

Day 4 (Wednesday)

Duration – 6 AM – 6PM

In the morning the guests must freshen up and get ready for whole day temple tour.

Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple is one of the Char Dhams, the other three being Jagannath Temple in Puri, Dwarkadheesh Temple in Dwarka, Badrinath Temple in Badrinath (Uttarakhand). The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Ramanathswamy (Shiva).

                

Agniteertham is located 100m away from the main entrance of Ramanathaswamy Temple.It is belived that Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva At this place after demolishing Ravana. The place is flocked by Hindu pilgrims who take a bath at this place for purity of soul and mind.

Badrakaliamman Temple: Dedicated to Goddess Durga this temple is the largest temple dedicated to the divine mother Kali in the whole of South India. The statue of the deity is in gold and pilgrims from different corners of the world throng to the temple to pay obeisance to her divine form. The temple also houses a gold studded tower. This temple exists from the ancient times and has been renovated by different rulers from time to time.

Gandhamdhana Parvatham is located on a hill top and houses the marble image of the footprint of Lord Rama

Kothandaramaswamy Temple It is believed that Ravan’s brother Vibhishana joined Lord Rama to help him in his victory against the demon king. An ancient tree Athi Maram and a tank named after sage Bhringhi are present within the temple premises. The temple is situated close to Nandavanam or Nandambakkam, the place where Lord Rama stayed at rishi Bhringhi’s ashram.

Hanuman Temple: The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Hanuman, who played an important role in Ramayana. In this temple one can feel the divine presence of Hanuman. The temple is visited by any pilgrim who comes to Rameswaram.

 Saatchi Hanuman Temple situated close to RamanathaswamyTemple and Gandhamadana Parvatam. This place draws its significance from the story of Ramayana. It is believed that Hanuman came to this place and met lord Rama after coming back from Lanka with the whereabouts of Sita. In this place Hanuman gave the Chudamadi of Sita to Rama.

                 

Five-Faced Hanuman Temple is one of the highly venerated temples in Rameshwaram, as here it is believed that Lord Hanuman his five faces. These five heads are that of Lord Hanuman, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Narashima, Lord Hayagriva and Lord Garuda

Villondi Tirtham is the place where Lord Rama buried his bow before he shot an arrow on the sea to extract fresh water to quench the thirst of his wife Devi Sita. This is the only place in the sea where fresh water can be found. This place is also popular for the Ekantha Ramar Temple where Lord Rama is believed to have lived fpr some days before he left for his search for Sita.

Departure from Rameswaram at 11.00 AM and arrival at Madurai between 3.00-3.30 PM

After you reach Madurai in the afternoon, we take you to the hotel. In the evening, we leave you to shop at famous markets of Madurai like Thevangu Chetty Choultry, Avanimoola, Puthumandapam and Chithirai. The city has always been famous for handloom silk and cotton saris and readymade garments and the rush of people in these markets is always high. Madurai is dotted with markets owned by co-operative societies and private enterprises who sell high quality handloom silk which is famous all over the world.

Apart from fabrics you can pick up some handcrafted pieces and artifacts which are fine examples of the artistic skill and craftsmanship of the people of south India. Poompuhar Handicrafts Shop, the Madurai Gallery and the Cottage Arts Emporium must be visited for hand-woven silks and cottons, stone carvings, bronze images, wood and bell-metal lamps.

Temple tour in Madurai

Sree Meenakshi Amman Temple, is the most magnificent and grand temple in the entire South India. With its breathtaking architecture and divine atmosphere, pilgrims spends hours in appreciating the splendor and beauty of this temple which has many legends and myths attached to it. Goddess Meenakshi, the incarnation of Parvati is the chief deity of this temple and Lord Shiva is present here as Sundareshwar.

                 

Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple,is situated on hill called Thiruparankundram and is carved out of mountain rocks. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and his consort Deivayanai. The temple is one of the six most important places of worship of Lord Murugan.

 Koodal Azhagar Temple is dedicated to the city of Madurai and its chief deity is Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is believed to reside here and the city happens to be one of the 108 divyadesams. The richly carved walls, the ornate interiors are eye-catching. Lord Vishnu resides here in three forms in the three levels of the temple. 

Pazhamudhir Solai is located in the midst of thick forest which is rich in herbs and fruits. The deity of this temple is lord Murugan and he presides here with his wives Villai and Deiviyani. It is also one the six abodes of lord Murugan.

                 

Alagarkoil Temple and Shrine is located in the Alagar hill and Lord Vishnu is the deity of this temple. It is said that Yudhishthir and Arjuna had visted it and Saint Ramanujam’s chief disciple had gained his eye-sight by worshipping in this temple. There also exists 2,000 year old Sudarshan-chakra in this temple.

Arittapatti Shivan Temple is an example of one of the earliest rock-cut temples of the Pandayan Age. It is called Idaichchi Mandapam by the people of the region and the Shiva Linga is carved out of the rock.

On the final day we leave you for shopping and exploring the city till the time of depature in the afternoon.
