Dhauladhar reserves a special mention for its high altitude glaciar lakes which have mythical backgrounds and are considered extremely sacred by local residents, who make pilgrimage to these lakes during the monsoon and post monsoon season. These lakes are considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva and located in the one mountain range.

The most prominent among them in the Dhauladhar region are the Lam Dal and the Nag Dal. Dal is called to a Lake. Lam Dal is at an elevation of 3900 meters and approachable from Minkiani Pass, Inderhar Pass and Gaj Pass. Local Gaddi shepherd, resident of Bharmour has visit many of these lakes during their migration journey with their flocks to Kangra valley and vice versa.

The seven Main lakes names in Dhailadhar are Lam Dal, Naag Dal, Kali Kund Dal, Chander Koop Dal, Dham Ghodi Dal, Sukh Dal and Naag Chatri Dal.

Lam Dal & Other Lakes Overview

• Lam Dal Lake is the largest and the deepest in the area with a circumference of about 2.5 Kms. These above mention lakes are seven big lakes; hence it is also called the area of the seven lakes.
• Kali Kund, a well shaped lake is about 200 meters below the Lam Dal. It is worshipped by devotees on account of its religious background.
• Chander Koop (Moon lake) 4100 meters is a beautiful lake with ice blocks floating in it so it is also known as Ice Berg lake.
• Nag Chatri Dal (King Cobra Lake} near the lndrahara pass, is related to the Bhagsu Nag waters and is situated on the other side of the Dhauladhar at an elevation of 4200 meters.
• Nag Chatri Dal, and a small glacial lake to the left of Thamsar pass are prominent among these.

Day 1 Reception at Pathankot /Chakki Bank & drive to Dalhousie (80 Kms by Taxi)

(Reception & welcome at Pathankot / Chakki Bank then drive to Dalhousie. After reaching Dalhousie check into hotel and in evening visit local sight seen of Small Hill station Dalhousie.)
             
 

Day 2 Dalhousie – Kalatop - Khajiyar – Bharmour (110 Kms by Taxi)

(After Breakfast at Dalhousie move forward to Kalatop wildlife sanctuary then to Khajiyar. Enjoy the beauty of Mini Switzerland and take lunch. After Lunch move to Bharmour via Chamba. After reaching Bharmour check into hotel. And in evening join the Aarti at Chaurasi temples.)
               
 

Day 3 Bharmour  - Bharmani Mata Temple - Bharmour (6Km Trek for acclimatization Day)

(Early in the morning after breakfast and taking pack lunch, trek to Bharmani Temple. Bharmani temple is situated at the ridge and is 03 km trek from Bharmour. In evening, return back to Bharmour and check into hotel. This day is to get familiar with local environment)
               
 

Day 4 Bharmour - Chatrari – Barie  (50 kms By Taxi)

In the morning after breakfast group will move to small village Chatrari by taxi a lead of 38 km. Chatrari is small and beautiful valley village, Famous for ancient shakti temple. Enjoy the village and visit the famous temple. Then troop will move ahead toward Baire. After reaching at Dunali village troop will leave the main highway and will take the link road to Barie. Spend the left day for acclimatization and overnight stay in camp. 
              
 

Day 5 Barie - Drakund (10 kms trek)

After breakfast trek to Drakund. Drakund is beautiful camp site. After crossing the Barie village then follow the nallah. A climb of up and downs will reach Drakund. After reaching camp site get rest for next day journey. Dinner and overnight stay will be provided in camp. 
              
 

Day 6 Drakund  - Lam Dal (12 kms trek)

Early in the morning after breakfast and taking packed lunch group will move from camp for adventurous trek. A trail of upword climb of 12 km through boulders and along with Nallah will reach a glacial lake know as Lam Dal. The devotees take a dip in this lake during the month of july.The run of 4 -5 Hrs from Kali Dal will reach Lam Dal. After reaching Lake establish the camp and take holy dip in lake. Enjoy the night at Lam Dal.
 
                 

Day 7 Lam Dal - Chander Koop Lake  - Lam Dal (trek of 10 kms)

After spending a night near Lake, today group will visit Chander Koop lake. Chander Koop (Moon lake) 4100 meters is a beautiful lake with ice blocks floating in it so it is also known as Ice Berg lake. Take the breakfast and packed lunch group will trek to Chander koop lake a run of 2 hrs will reach lake . Take lunch and spend 2 hrs at Lake return back to base camp at Lam Dal.
                   
 

Day 8  Lam Dal - Drakund (12 km Trek)

After visiting Two major glacial lakes and some small lakes in the way of Dhauladhar range today group will return back to Drakund through the trail went.

Day 9 Drakund  - Barie - Chamba

After breakfast, return back to Barie village through dense forest. After reaching Barie take the taxi and move to Chamba. After reaching Chamba Check in to Hotel. 
 
 

Day 10 Bharmour - Chamba  - Pathankot (190 Kms by Taxi 

After breakfast the departure of troop will be done from Bharmour. Move to Chamba take here lunch and visit here Laxmi Narayan Temple and Bhuri Singh Muesum. After that move further to Pathankot / Chakki Banks. After reaching Chakki Bank / Pathankot our outdoor team will depart the group here with lots of memories.
