Climate – Situated on high altitudes, Nanda Devi National Park has an amazing climate. It is covered in snow for six month while rest of the year the climate is warm and pleasant and most suitable to visit, although it rains heavily in months of July and August and is not recommended to go there.

Different locations of the park like Bhuyandar valley, Gobindghat, Pandukeshwar, Joshimath and Auli are reach with vegetation ranges, birds and animals.

About Joshimath Auli Nanda Devi Biosphere tour package – An Overview

Covering 71,210 ha, both Valley of Flowers (N30 43 60.00 E79 37 60.00) and Nandadevi (N30 25 7.00 E79 50 59.00 ) are surrounded by a large buffer zone of 514,857 that is home of rare wildlife and mountain flowers in this region. How to Reach

Valley of Flowers is a trek of about 17 km (10.5 miles). The nearest major town connected via road Joshimath in Garhwal, and can be reached easily from Haridwar and Dehradun, both about 270 km from Joshimath.

Govindghat is at an hour distance from to Joshimath and is the beginning point of the trek. From Ghangharia is 14 km away from Gobindghat and is the last place where one can stay in the night.

Auli can be reached by a 25 minute cable car ride from Joshimath.

6 Night/7 Day Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi – Rishikesh (255 kms/8hrs)

Our representatives will pick you up at New Delhi airport/station and arrange for your transport from ISBT Kashmere Gate on a luxurious AC Volvo or SUV provided by the company from where you’ll proceed to Rishikesh for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2

Rishikesh – Joshimath (220 kms/7 hrs)

Leave for Joshimath in the morning after local sightseeing in Rishikesh. On the way to Joshimath we will take a stop at Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet and become to holy River Ganga.

Joshimath was established by Adi Shankaracharya as a religious centre and serves as home of Sri Badrinathji during winters. You can visit temples of Nav Durga and Narsingh in this area. Vistors admire Joshimath for its scenic beauty.

Your overnight stay and dinner will be arranged in a hotel.

Day 3

Joshimath – Govindghat – Ghangharia (22 kms/1hrs drive) Ghangaria (14 kms/3-4 hrs trek)

After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat from where trek to Valley of Flowers beings. Govindghat is the meeting point of Alaknanda and Laxman Ganga Rivers. Govindghat is named after a Gurudwara dedicated to Guru Govind Singh. Trek for Govindghat starts after crossing River Alaknanda by bridge from where you walk across Bhyundar valley through the forest. Bhyundar valley is an excellent point of birding and you can spend some time clicking pictures of the surroundings. Trek to Ghangharia takes 4-5 hours from where you will transferred to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Ghangaria - Valley Of Flowers - Ghangria (6kms one side/4-5 hrs)

After breakfast we leave for trek to Valley Of Flowers (3858 m) from Ghangaria. The valley is a beautiful landscape with an impressive surrounding located in midst of the Himalayas and serves as a home of rare wild flowers. The beauty of this location is worth enjoying after which we return to Ghangria for overnight stay.

Day 5

Ghangaria - Govind Ghat – Joshimath  (Ghangaria (14 kms/3-4 hrs trek)) +(22 kms/1hrs drive) Govindghat to Joshimath.

After breakfast trek down to reach Govind Ghat and from here drive to Joshimath. Check in to hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 6

Joshimath - Auli (3-5 hour trek)

After a leisurely breakfast we leave from Joshimath and got for a steep trek to Auli (People not interested in trekking at this point can go to Auli by a 25 min cable car ride.) We’ll be joined by the porters and mules that’ll carry our trekking equipment. In route we will cover villages of Dando and Nog that provide excellent location for birding in the way, this will be followed by one more trek inside the dense forests after which we arrive at Auli which is popular ski resort.

Auli offers beautiful views of Mt. Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, Doonagiri, Bithartoli, Neelkanth, Hathi Parbat, Gori Parbat, Nar Parbat and Kamet. The snow dressed slopes of Auli are covered with evergreen conifers and oak forests. Stay in Auli will be arranged in camp or hotel depending on your itinerary.

Day 7

AulI - Gorson : (3 km/5-6 hour trek)

Trek through huge dense forest and walk on snow till last point Gorson which is located on 3600 meter. Gorson Bugyal provides with an excellent spot for birding and photography. You can enjoy the landscapes and the mountains after which we return to base camp at Auli.

Gorso is just three kilometres from Auli that is spread out as a mixed forest kind of area. Gorso is just 1.5 km away from the last tower of the ropeway. Gorso is a peaceful and scenic location away from any commercial or tourist activity.

Day 6

Auli  – Joshimath – Haridwar (270 km/ 30 min by cable car and 6-8 hours by road)

We leave our camps after breakfast and reach Joshimath via cable car. From here we leave for Haridwar by road where upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

Haridwar – Delhi (230 kms/6hrs)

You are free to visit Haridwar in the afternoon. You can visit the temples and the ghats of this city starting with Mansa Devi temple, Chandi Devi temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple, Bilkeshwar Mahadev, Anandmai Ashram, Vaishno Devi Temple, Doodhadhari Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir etc. You can visit the hotels around Har ki pauri and savor awesome lunch along with sweets and snacks in this area.

We will leave for New Delhi in the evening where upon your arrival next morning you’ll be dropped at airport or railway station and your trip will end.
