DAY 01: DELHI


Upon your arrival in Delhi our representatives will pick you and transfer you to the hotel. Later we will visit Qutab Minar India Gate, Rajghat and Shanti Vana the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Later we will visit places around Chandni Chowk and visit Red Fort, Parliament House and President House. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: Delhi/Lucknow/Sravasti


Breakfast at hotel and we will leave from Delhi after checking out and you’ll be transfered to airport to connect flight for Lucknow. On arrival leave for Sravasti, here according to the Mahabharata, the origin of Sravasti lies with the legendary king Shravasta. According to Buddhist tradition, the city was called Savatthi because the sage Savattha lived there.

Savatthi was located on the banks of the river Aciravati (now called the Raptiriver). It was the capital city of the kingdom of Kosala, and its king was called Pasenadi, who was a disciple of Buddha. It is a beautiful city with vast amounts of agriculture and diversity.

Maheth covers an area of about 400 acres, and has been identified with the remains of the city proper. Excavations have exposed the massive gates of the city, ramparts and also the ruins of other structures which testify to the prosperity of ancient Sravasti. The Sobhanath Temple is located here.

PakkiKuti and KacchiKuti were probably Buddhist shrines before they were converted into Brahmanical temples.

DAY 03: Sravasti/ Lumbini


You’ll be checking out from the hotel after Breakfast and leave for Lumbini where on arrival you’ll betransferred to hotel .After lunch we will leave for half day city tour visiting birth place of Lord Buddha. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 04: Lumbini/ Kushinagar


AfterBreakfast you’ll leave for Kushinagar where upon arrival you’ll be transferred to hotel. After lunch you’ll visit Nirvana Temple and RamabharStupa.

Wattthai Temple is a huge temple complex built in the typical Thai Buddhist architectural style.

Nirvana Stupa is a huge brickwork stupa, exposed by Carlyl in 1876, stands at a height of 2.74 mtr. A copper vessel was unearthed at this site.

DAY 05: Kushinagar/ Rajgir


After breakfast you’ll be checking out and leave for Rajgir enroute visit Vaishali. This is a small village surrounded by banana and mango groves where excavations in the area have brought to light an impressive historical past. The epic Ramayana tells the story of the heroic King Vishal who ruled here.

Lord Buddha visited Vaishali frequently and at Kolhua, close by, preached his last sermon. To commemorate the event, Emperor Ashoka, in the third century B.C. erected one of his famous lion pillars here.

From here you’ll leave for Rajgir and will be transferred to hotel for Dinner and overnight.

Day 06 :Rajgir/Bodhgaya
 

After breakfast at hotel we wil leave for visit Nalanda University and Gridhkut mountain.

Nalanda university today stands in ruins but historical sources indicate that the University had a long and illustrious life which lasted almost continually for 800 years from the fifth to the twelfth century CE. It was a completely residential university with over 2,000 teachers and 10,000 students.

Later we will go to Gridhkut mountains to visit the place where Lord Buddha carried out many dialogues with his disciples after he achieved enlightenment. It is the place where Lord Buddha started his second helm of commandment and preached many inspiring teachings and sermons to his disciples.

Return to hotel for lunch at hotel and check out to leave for Bodhgaya. On arrival transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 07: Bodghgaya sightseeing
 

Breakfast at hotel and then you’ll leave for Bodh Gaya sightseeing which is the most holy place on Earth for the followers of the Buddhist faith all over the world. Situated by the bank of river Neranjana the place was then known as Uruwela. King Ashoka was the first to build a temple here.

Later we will visit The Bodhi tree that stands at the western side of the MahabodhiStupa in Bodhgaya the large and historic Bodhi Tree under which Shakyamuni Buddha, then known as Gautama, attained enlightenment some 2540 years ago.

The Mahabodhi Temple stands east to the Bodhi Tree. Its architectural effect is superb. its basement is 48 square feet and it rises in the form of a slender Pyramid, till it reaches its neck, which is cylindrical in shape.

Vajrasana, the seat of stability. The Buddha supposed to have say in meditation gazing east, under the Bodhi tree, where the Vajrasana, the stone platform is kept.

The ancient railings which surround the temple are of first cintury BC and are very interesting monuments of the country.

After sightseeing you’ll return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 08: Bodhgaya/ Varanasi
 

Breakfast at hotel. Morning leave for Varanasi Lunch will be provided en route. Sarnath is an historical place for followers of Buddhism. Sarnath is situated 13Kms to north-east of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. It is the place where Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon to his five disciples named Kaundinya, Bashpa, Bhadrika, Mahanaman and Ashvajit after he attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya.

On arrival you’ll be transferred to hotel for Dinner and overnight.


 

Day 09: Varanasi/Delhi
 

Early morning you’ll be taken for a boat ride on river Ganges then return to hotel for breakfast. Then you’ll be visiting Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon.

Here you’ll be visiting places like

ChaukhandiStupa, situated 13 kilometers away from Varanasi, is said to be built originally as a terraced temple in 4th to 6th century during the Gupta period. The ChaukhandiStupa is a brick structure crowned with an octagonal tower. According to the famous Chinese traveller Hiuen-Tsang, this was the tallest stupa at that time in the region.

Lord Buddha delivered the first discourse of his Dhamma and the famous eight-fold path at a deerparkinSarnath. This place is marked by the Dhameka or DhamekhaStupa, which is a solid, cylindrical, brick structure. It is 43.6 m high and 28 m in diameter.

Sarnath Archaeological Museum just across the road. The ASI museum at Sarnath is an on site museum and houses a number of artifacts

The MulagandhakutiVihara temple, built by the Sri Lankan Mahabodhi Society, is one of the many Buddhist temples in Sarnath and probably the most famous.

Bodhivriksha(the Bodhi Tree). The Bodhi tree the most sacred tree for Buddhists as Lord Buddha attained enlightenment sitting under this tree only.

Prominent among other notable Buddhist temples in Sarnath are the Nichigai Suzan Horinji Temple, theThai temple and the Migadawun Myanmar Temple.

Breakfast at hotel and then you’ll leave for Bodh Gaya sightseeing which is the most holy place on Earth for the followers of the Buddhist faith all over the world. Situated by the bank of river Neranjana the place was then known as Uruwela. King Ashoka was the first to build a temple here.

Later we will visit The Bodhi tree that stands at the western side of the MahabodhiStupa in Bodhgaya the large and historic Bodhi Tree under which Shakyamuni Buddha, then known as Gautama, attained enlightenment some 2540 years ago.

The Mahabodhi Temple stands east to the Bodhi Tree. Its architectural effect is superb. its basement is 48 square feet and it rises in the form of a slender Pyramid, till it reaches its neck, which is cylindrical in shape.

Vajrasana, the seat of stability. The Buddha supposed to have say in meditation gazing east, under the Bodhi tree, where the Vajrasana, the stone platform is kept.

The ancient railings which surround the temple are of first cintury BC and are very interesting monuments of the country.

After sightseeing you’ll return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 08: Bodhgaya/ Varanasi
 

Breakfast at hotel. Morning leave for Varanasi Lunch will be provided en route. Sarnath is an historical place for followers of Buddhism. Sarnath is situated 13Kms to north-east of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. It is the place where Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon to his five disciples named Kaundinya, Bashpa, Bhadrika, Mahanaman and Ashvajit after he attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya.

On arrival you’ll be transferred to hotel for Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 09: Varanasi/Delhi
 

Early morning you’ll be taken for a boat ride on river Ganges then return to hotel for breakfast. Then you’ll be visiting Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon.

Here you’ll be visiting places like

ChaukhandiStupa, situated 13 kilometers away from Varanasi, is said to be built originally as a terraced temple in 4th to 6th century during the Gupta period. The ChaukhandiStupa is a brick structure crowned with an octagonal tower. According to the famous Chinese traveller Hiuen-Tsang, this was the tallest stupa at that time in the region.

Lord Buddha delivered the first discourse of his Dhamma and the famous eight-fold path at a deerparkinSarnath. This place is marked by the Dhameka or DhamekhaStupa, which is a solid, cylindrical, brick structure. It is 43.6 m high and 28 m in diameter.

Sarnath Archaeological Museum just across the road. The ASI museum at Sarnath is an on site museum and houses a number of artifacts

The MulagandhakutiVihara temple, built by the Sri Lankan Mahabodhi Society, is one of the many Buddhist temples in Sarnath and probably the most famous.

Bodhivriksha(the Bodhi Tree). The Bodhi tree the most sacred tree for Buddhists as Lord Buddha attained enlightenment sitting under this tree only.

Prominent among other notable Buddhist temples in Sarnath are the Nichigai Suzan Horinji TempletheThai temple and the Migadawun Myanmar Temple.
