14N/15D Trip itinerary for Gracious Gujrat Package

Day 1 – Ahmedabad – Little Rann of Kutch

Our representatives will pick you up from railway station/airport and transfer you to the pickup point. We’ll drive for little Rann of Kutch from here. Upon reaching you’ll be transferred to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

From here we will go on a jeep safari and visit the Wild Ass Sanctuary. This region is rich in biodiversity and you can spot animals like Wild-Ass, Desert Fox, Blue Bull, Blackbuck, Wolf, Jackal along with different snakes & some migratory birds.

Day 02 - Little Rann of Kutch – Bhuj

Today we will drive for Bhuj after checking out from the hotel. Upon reaching you’ll be transferred in the hotel. Later we will go for sightseeing and shopping.

Bhuj is famous for its handicrafts works that comes from many artesian villages in this region. Khavda is a very popular local sweet.

Swaminarayan Temple: A magnificent architectural masterpiece, this temple is managed by the Swaminarayan cult. This temple is built from marble and is an architectural beauty.

Pragmahal Palace.:This palace has a gothic style of architecture, it once belonged to the rulers of Kutch region. Here you can visit the handicraft museum at AainaMahal that has various arts and crafts from different parts of Kutch on display.

Hamirsar Lake: This is a beautiful lake located in the heart of the city.

Bhujiyo Hill: This fort was made by the rulers of Kutchh region made to protect the city. This place is a heaven for photography lovers and it offers panoramic view of the city.

Chhatardi: This place has the cenotaphs of rulers along with a beautiful garden and a lake nearby.

Day 03 -Bhuj – HodkaVillage(105km / 2.5hrs)

Today we will check out from the hotel and leave for Hodkavillage, here we will be checking in at Sham-e-sharad resort. This resort has mud houses and family tents where one can stay enjoy and experience the local Kutch culture and lifestyle along with folk dance by the locals along with bonfire and dinner in the night. 

Day 04 Hodka – Banni&Pachcham–Hodka(200km / 4hrs)

Banni and Pachcham regions are located at the edge of the Rann from where the border of Pakistan starts. We will make a visit tolocal villages likeDhordo, Bhirandiyara, Ludiya and Khavda, India Bridge along withKaloDungar and Dattatray Temple.

Later we will return to Hodka for overnight and dinner.

Places to visit around Hodka

Dhordo Village is set on the edge of the Rann from where Indo - Pak border starts. It is renowned for its White desert, bird watching and craft villages.

Bhirandiyarais a small village in Kutchh region that consists of 20 houses belonging to artisan families.

Ludia village is famous for the craftswomen who make beautiful embroidery work and traditional crafts. The male artisans here make decorative furniture.

Khavda is a small village in Bhuj where each year millions flamingos migrate to breed. Visitors can enjoy the safari here on camel back. The town is famous for excellent pottery  and leather works.

KaloDungar is the highest point in Kutch from where you can get a beautiful panoramic view of the rann. This place is also a beautiful sunset point.

Day 5 - Hodka - Mandvi (200km/4hrs)

Today we check out from the resort and drive for Mandvi andBanni Region. We will visit a famous fossil site and Than Monastery in the route along with Jura &Nirona Villages. In the evening we will arrive in Mandvi and check in to the resort/hotel for overnight and dinner.

Trip details

Kutch fossil park: This is a magnificent place where many fossils collected from entire Rann have been collected and kept for display.

Than Monastery is a beautiful temple complex in a corner of Kutch region on the foot of Dinodhar Hill and is dedicated to Dhoramnathwhois said to have performed rigorous penance here for 12 long years.

Jura village is famous for the craftsmen who are popularly known to make beautiful bells.

Nirona village is famous for seven generation old Rogan art that came to India from Persia. This art is done on bridal clothing and to make beautiful borders and floral patterns on Ghagras, odhni and other celebratory dresses.

Day 6 - – Mandvi sightseeing

We will be visiting 72 Jain Temple Complex and then proceed to the shipping yard at Mandvi Port. From here we will spend rest of the day at the beach. You can also go for natural spa and herbal treatment at the resort.

The MandviTeerth is a Jain pilgrimage centre here. An idol of the 16th Tirthankar of Jain, BhagwanShantinath, in the Padmasana posture is worshipped as the main deity here.

Day 7 –Mandvi – Jamnagar

We will check out from the hotel early morning and leave for Jamnagar, here we will check in to the hotel and then visit Lakhota Lake &Lakhota Museum followed by Bala Hanuman Temple that is famous for its nonstop Ramdhun since 1956 and is even mentioned in Guinness Book of World Records.

Later in the evening you’ll be free for shopping, Overnight and dinner in hotel.

Day 8 –Jamnagar – Narara Island – Dwarka

We will check out from the hotel and proceed for Dwarka, in route we will take a short stop at Narana marine national park that is India’s only Marine national park.

The marine national park exceeds from Narara and Pirotan Island out of which Pirotan was closed to save the aquatic life from tourists. This place is made from coral reefs and is popular for coral walks.

From here we will move to Dwarka and check in to the hotel. From here we will visit Dwarkadheesh temple and GomtiGhat. Later we will visit Bet Dwarka followed by a walk around miscellaneous temples near the beach. The day will end after attending aarti at Dwarkadhish temple.

Places to visit in Dwarka

Dwarkadhish temple - The temple is more than 5000 years old and is considered as one of the Char dhams. It is situated on bank of Gomtighat and is visited by millions of pilgrims to seek blessings in the temple.

Rukshamanee Temple - it is believed that journey to Dwarka is incomplete without darshan at this temple. Her temple is away from main temple because a curse from Rishi Durvasa.

Dwarka Lighthouse - Dwarka Lighthouse is located at Rupen Creek. This lighthouse was constructed in 1886. This tower was rebuilt in 1960 that is around 43 metres high.

NageshwaraJyotirlinga Temple-  This temple is also known as the Nagnath temple and is situated in the outskirts of Dwarka. It's one of the 12 Jyotirlingas mentioned in the Shiva Purana.

Bet Dwarka -BeytDwarka is an island located around 30 km from Dwarka.The main temple is over 500 years old. The island is enclosed by a few temples, white sand beach and coral reefs. 

Gomati SangamGhat – There are many ghats on the river Gomati but the most important one is the one where the river meets the ocean is known as the Gomati Sangam.

Gita Mandir – This temple was built in 1970 by the industrialist family of Birla. The temple is built using marble and protects the values and teachings of 'Bhagavad Gita'.

Day 09 -Dwarka – Porbandar–Somnath

We will check out from the hotel early morning and leave for Porbandar that is also known as the birthplace of Mahatama Gandhi. Here we will visit Kirtimandir where Gandhi ji spent his childhood. This place is converted into a museum showcasing important and rare items the belonged to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

From here we will leave for Somnath where you’ll be transferred to the hotel upon reaching. Later we will visit SomnathJyotirlinga Temple that is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. After darshan we will attend aarti and sound/light show in the temple premises.

Other places to visit in Somnath

Parshuram Temple. This temple is dedicated to Sage Parshuram, he conducted his long penance wishing to be relieved from the curse of Kshatriya killings by BhagwanSomnath.

TreeveniSangam: This ghat is located at the point where the holy rivers Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati meet the ocean. This place is considered holy and people come here to take bath.

The Gitamandir and Laxminarayanmandir: Both of these temples are located in the campus of Dehotsarg. The architecture of the temple is beautiful and the pillars are covered with sholkas from Geetasar.

Day 10 - Somnath – Diu

We will leave early morning and travel to Diu. Diu is a beach town and part of Daman and Diu union territory of India.

Upon reaching you’ll be checking in the hotel for stay and rest of the time will be free for the beach activity. Water sport activities like Para Sailing, Wind Surfing, Speed boat, Jet Skiing etc are conducted on Nagoa Beach and Ghoghla beach. Scuba Diving facility is available here that you can request to the hotel manager and he’ll arrange it for you.

In the evening we will enjoy the cruise ride in the ocean along with dinner. Later we will proceed to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11 – Diu Sightseeing

Today we will go for sightseeing in Diu, this place has massive cathedrals, pristine beaches and forts that was built during Portuguese era. The day will be spend visiting these places and later we will return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Diu Jail It was built during the Portuguese era and it looks divine amazing the nightesp under the full moon.

St. Paul’s church: This church is dedicated to Lady of Immaculate Conception. Built in 17th century this is one of the most beautifully designed Portuguese churches in the country.

St. Fransis of Assisi Church: This church is made in style of French Architecture.

Jalandhar Beach : It’s a very quiet, and isolated beach, suitable for swimming and sun-bathing.

 Sea Shell Museum: This is the only museum in Asia with around 1500 type of sea shells on display.

INS Khukri Memorial: This is dedicated to the INS Khukri that sank during war of 1971 after falling being hit by 3 torpedoes.

Day 12- Diu – Sasangir

Today we will proceed to Sasangir also known as home of Asiatic Lions. Upon reaching we will check in to hotel and proceed to Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya. Later we will be visting crocodile breeding farm and then to Gir Information centrewher you’ll be showed a documentary on lions.

Day 13- Sasangir - Junagadh– Rajkot

We will check out from the hotel and leave for open Jeep Safari in the Gir National Park. If you are lucky you’ll catch a pack of Lions in the forest. Along with Lions there are many other animals in this region such as Sambar, spotted deer, nilgai, the world's only four-horned antelope is only found in Gir, along with Jackal, striped hyena, jungle cat, rusty-spotted cat, langur, porcupine, black-naped Indian are also found here.

From here we will proceed to Junagadh, here we will visit Uperkot Fort, Ashok Rock Edict, MahabatMakabara and Junagadh Museum and then proceed to Rajkot for overnight stay and dinner in a hotel.

Places to visit in Junagadh

Junagadh Museum – formerly known as Darbar HallIt was used to be a palace of the Nawab of Junagadh which was later converted into a museum. You can see historical artifacts such as palanquins, arms, pictures and textile gallery and the Kacheri. You can also see the throne, weapons, costumes, armours, tapestries and chandeliers, silver articles, gowns, cushions and carpets that was used be the Nawabs here.

Uparkot fort – It is a must visit place in Junagadh. This fort is believed to be built in 319 BC by the Chandragupta Maurya and has been extended many times since then. It provides superb views of the city in the east and to Girnar Hill. There is a mosque and Buddhist Caves in premises of this fort.

The Sakkarbaug Zoo: This zoo was established in 1863 and is one of the oldest Zoos of India. This zoo is spread over about 198 Hectares of in the foothills of Girnar and it is home to more than 850wild animals of 71 species.

About NarsinhaMehto No Choro: Here you can seea small temple of Gopinath. Idols of ShriDamodarRaiji and Narsinh Mehta are placed here. A beautiful lake called Nansinha Mehta lake is located nearby.

SwaminarayanAkshardhamMandir: It’s a beautiful temple built by the Swaminaryan Cult.

Wellington Dam: This place provides green ambiance along with a nice panoramic view of the city. There are many birds here that you can see.

JainDerasar: This consist of five peaks on the mount Girnar with sixteen beautifully carved and sculptured marble shrines that forms one of the most beautifully situated group of Jain temples in India. These temples are a true blend of art, religion and devotion.

Ashok shilalekh: This huge rock has inscriptions in Ashoka's 14 rock in Brahmi script. On the same rock, you can also find inscriptions in Sanskrit by the Saka ruler of Malwa, which were later added.

Day 14 - Rajkot – Gandhinagar– Ahmedabad

We will check out from our hotel in Rajkot and visit Kaba Gandhi No Delo that is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. Jain Derasar and Swaminarayan temples are famous places to visit in Rajkot.

We will continue driving and reach Gandhinagar, here we will visit Akshardham Temple AdalajStepwell and then proceed to Ahmedabad where we will be staying overnight in the hotel and visit Kankaria Lake in the night.

Dwarka Lighthouse - Dwarka Lighthouse is located at Rupen Creek. This lighthouse was constructed in 1886. This tower was rebuilt in 1960 that is around 43 metres high.

NageshwaraJyotirlinga Temple-  This temple is also known as the Nagnath temple and is situated in the outskirts of Dwarka. It's one of the 12 Jyotirlingas mentioned in the Shiva Purana.

Bet Dwarka -BeytDwarka is an island located around 30 km from Dwarka.The main temple is over 500 years old. The island is enclosed by a few temples, white sand beach and coral reefs. 

Gomati SangamGhat – There are many ghats on the river Gomati but the most important one is the one where the river meets the ocean is known as the Gomati Sangam.

Gita Mandir – This temple was built in 1970 by the industrialist family of Birla. The temple is built using marble and protects the values and teachings of 'Bhagavad Gita'.

Day 09 -Dwarka – Porbandar–Somnath

We will check out from the hotel early morning and leave for Porbandar that is also known as the birthplace of Mahatama Gandhi. Here we will visit Kirtimandir where Gandhi ji spent his childhood. This place is converted into a museum showcasing important and rare items the belonged to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

From here we will leave for Somnath where you’ll be transferred to the hotel upon reaching. Later we will visit SomnathJyotirlinga Temple that is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. After darshan we will attend aarti and sound/light show in the temple premises.

Other places to visit in Somnath

Parshuram Temple. This temple is dedicated to Sage Parshuram, he conducted his long penance wishing to be relieved from the curse of Kshatriya killings by BhagwanSomnath.

TreeveniSangam: This ghat is located at the point where the holy rivers Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati meet the ocean. This place is considered holy and people come here to take bath.

The Gitamandir and Laxminarayanmandir: Both of these temples are located in the campus of Dehotsarg. The architecture of the temple is beautiful and the pillars are covered with sholkas from Geetasar.

Day 10 - Somnath – Diu

We will leave early morning and travel to Diu. Diu is a beach town and part of Daman and Diu union territory of India.

Upon reaching you’ll be checking in the hotel for stay and rest of the time will be free for the beach activity. Water sport activities like Para Sailing, Wind Surfing, Speed boat, Jet Skiing etc are conducted on Nagoa Beach and Ghoghla beach. Scuba Diving facility is available here that you can request to the hotel manager and he’ll arrange it for you.

In the evening we will enjoy the cruise ride in the ocean along with dinner. Later we will proceed to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11 – Diu Sightseeing

Today we will go for sightseeing in Diu, this place has massive cathedrals, pristine beaches and forts that was built during Portuguese era. The day will be spend visiting these places and later we will return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Places to visit in Diu

Diu Jail It was built during the Portuguese era and it looks divine amazing the nightesp under the full moon.

St. Paul’s church: This church is dedicated to Lady of Immaculate Conception. Built in 17th century this is one of the most beautifully designed Portuguese churches in the country.

St. Fransis of Assisi Church: This church is made in style of French Architecture.

Jalandhar Beach : It’s a very quiet, and isolated beach, suitable for swimming and sun-bathing.

 Sea Shell Museum: This is the only museum in Asia with around 1500 type of sea shells on display.

INS Khukri Memorial: This is dedicated to the INS Khukri that sank during war of 1971 after falling being hit by 3 torpedoes.

Day 12- Diu – Sasangir

Today we will proceed to Sasangir also known as home of Asiatic Lions. Upon reaching we will check in to hotel and proceed to Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya. Later we will be visting crocodile breeding farm and then to Gir Information centrewher you’ll be showed a documentary on lions.

Day 13- Sasangir - Junagadh– Rajkot

We will check out from the hotel and leave for open Jeep Safari in the Gir National Park. If you are lucky you’ll catch a pack of Lions in the forest. Along with Lions there are many other animals in this region such as Sambar, spotted deer, nilgai, the world's only four-horned antelope is only found in Gir, along with Jackal, striped hyena, jungle cat, rusty-spotted cat, langur, porcupine, black-naped Indian are also found here.

From here we will proceed to Junagadh, here we will visit Uperkot Fort, Ashok Rock Edict, MahabatMakabara and Junagadh Museum and then proceed to Rajkot for overnight stay and dinner in a hotel.

Places to visit in Junagadh

Junagadh Museum – formerly known as Darbar HallIt was used to be a palace of the Nawab of Junagadh which was later converted into a museum. You can see historical artifacts such as palanquins, arms, pictures and textile gallery and the Kacheri. You can also see the throne, weapons, costumes, armours, tapestries and chandeliers, silver articles, gowns, cushions and carpets that was used be the Nawabs here.

Uparkot fort – It is a must visit place in Junagadh. This fort is believed to be built in 319 BC by the Chandragupta Maurya and has been extended many times since then. It provides superb views of the city in the east and to Girnar Hill. There is a mosque and Buddhist Caves in premises of this fort.

The Sakkarbaug Zoo: This zoo was established in 1863 and is one of the oldest Zoos of India. This zoo is spread over about 198 Hectares of in the foothills of Girnar and it is home to more than 850wild animals of 71 species.

About NarsinhaMehto No Choro: Here you can seea small temple of Gopinath. Idols of ShriDamodarRaiji and Narsinh Mehta are placed here. A beautiful lake called Nansinha Mehta lake is located nearby.

SwaminarayanAkshardhamMandir: It’s a beautiful temple built by the Swaminaryan Cult.

Wellington Dam: This place provides green ambiance along with a nice panoramic view of the city. There are many birds here that you can see.

JainDerasar: This consist of five peaks on the mount Girnar with sixteen beautifully carved and sculptured marble shrines that forms one of the most beautifully situated group of Jain temples in India. These temples are a true blend of art, religion and devotion.

Ashok shilalekh: This huge rock has inscriptions in Ashoka's 14 rock in Brahmi script. On the same rock, you can also find inscriptions in Sanskrit by the Saka ruler of Malwa, which were later added.

Day 14 - Rajkot – Gandhinagar– Ahmedabad

We will check out from our hotel in Rajkot and visit Kaba Gandhi No Delo that is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. Jain Derasar and Swaminarayan temples are famous places to visit in Rajkot.

We will continue driving and reach Gandhinagar, here we will visit Akshardham Temple AdalajStepwell and then proceed to Ahmedabad where we will be staying overnight in the hotel and visit Kankaria Lake in the night.

You’ll check out from the hotel and our representatives will drop you to railway station/airport and the trip will conclude.
