By Air: The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which lies approximately 54.0 kilometers away, and offers daily connectivity with New Delhi.

Kempty Falls

Located on the way between Dehradun -Mussoorie roads, Kempty Falls is a beautiful location to take a dip in the water falling from an altitude of 40 feet. Gun Hill

This scared ghat used for bath for most of pilgrims. The main daily event of the attraction is the evening Aarti of Goddess Ganga also commonly called as "Maha Aarti". Triveni Ghat, a confluence of three holy significant Rivers the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswathy, is a most revered sacred bathing spot in Rishikesh and is situated on the banks of Ganges River. The Ghat is considered to be the cremation ground of Lord Krishna.

Places to visit in Chamba

Lakshmi Narayan Temple

The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is the oldest and largest temple in Chamba, and built in the shape of a Shikhara. It houses six of the most stunning idols of Lord Vishnu and Shiva. The central Vishnu idol is carved out of marble and a sight to behold. The shrine, constructed in the 10th century, is devoted to the Vaishnavite sect. The main attraction of the temple includes the wooden chattries, which are built with regard to dynamic climatic conditions. The other highlights of the shrine are shikara, a sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) along with an ‘antarala’ and a ‘mantapa’.

Church of Scotland

The Church of Scotland, built in 1903, is a quiet sanctuary for those in quest of lands that speak of antiquity. One of the highlights of the church is lancer arch windows, which provide light and ventilation. The missionary church was also engaged in social activities like preaching, education and medical work. A Protestant Church, it speaks of strong Scottish artistic sensibilities in its arched windows and deep cravings. With absolutely no alterations since its erection, except a boundary wall, the Church, also known as St. Andrews Church is extraordinarily well preserved.

Chamera Lake & Dam

Even during monsoon, the flooding of river Beas causes the Chamera to look like a miniature but majestic version of the Arabian Sea. Manimahesh Lake

 The name Manimahesh signifies that of a jewel of lord Shiva. It is also known as Dal Lake also the nature beauty enhances the purity of the lake. It is situated in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. It is at the height of 4080mThe place is best suitable for trek lovers as it includes 13 km of walking distance. Most of the year, it remains closed due to the snow.

Chaugan

Chaugan, located in the centre of the township, is a hub of all social and cultural activities. Meaning four sided; the arena is enveloped in the midst of administrative buildings and a shopping centre. Laid during the British era in 1980, Chaugan has a terraced green grass surface which is 800 m long and 80 m wide. Chamba is your type of shopping destination if you are into local handicrafts and everything organic. Central Chaugan is where you can find all sorts of stone and metal artifacts, which make lovely souvenirs, and the famous Chamba and Kangra paintings.

Rang Mahal (Himachal Emporium)

The Himachal Emporium, housed in Raja Umed Singh's Rang Mahal in Surara Mohalla, is the haven of all things handmade and famous for Handicraft lovers. The emporium timings ate 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.For handicraft connoisseurs; Exquisite shawls and handkerchiefs woven on wooden looms are a treasure to get back home. The Bhuri Singh Museum

The Bhuri Singh Museum houses a huge number of paintings, manuscripts, antiquities and artifacts and is a must visit. Being protected by the Mughal invasions due to its strategic location, Chamba was a prosperous capital of the Maru Rajput clan. The place is also famous for its miniature Pahari style paintings which became a staple of the region.

Akhand Chandi Palace

One of the most beautiful features of the palace is that it has distinguishably green roof as the other houses in Chamba along with a conical roof to shed the snow. The palace has beautifully designed windows, which are painted in white. Until 1957, the palace was with the royal family and in 1958; it was handed over to Himachal Government, which opened a college and district library in the palace.

Chamunda Devi Temple

The Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the most frequented worship centre in the region, dedicated to Chamunda Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga who killed demons like Chanda and Munda, according to Hindu mythology. The shrine was built by Raja Umed Singh in 1762. From the temple, beautiful views of the Chamba valley and widespread Himalayan range are available. Located atop the Shah Madar hills, opposite to the township, the temple can be accessed by 378 steps.
