Pick up from Kathgodam Railway Station further drive to Kausani in route visit Almora city on arrival check in at hotel and be relaxed. After lunch we have half day to visit Kausani sightseeing in which we explore the famous Rudradhari Falls, caves & Kausani Tea Estate. In the evening return back to your accommodation.

How to reach Kausani

By Road: Kasauni is easily accessible by motorable road. Cities like Delhi, Nainital, and Almora are well connected with Kasauni. National highway number 24 connects Delhi and Rampur, having reached Rampur tourists then can take National highway number 87 which straight goes to Almora. From Almora one can easily reach to Kasauni.

By Rail: At a distance of 142 kilometer from Kasauni, Kathgodam railway station is located. To reach the railway station a four-hour traveling is needed. The railway lines are well connected with many cities in Uttarakhand State. Besides that it is also has a well network with major towns like Kolkata, Delhi and Lucknow. After get down at the station one can hire taxis or can take bus to reach Kasauni.

By Air: Pantnagar is the closest runway of Kasauni. The Pantnagar airport is situated at a distance of 162 kilo meters away from the region. Flights run thrice (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) in a week from Jagson Airlines, located in the capital city Delhi to Kasauni. Uttarakhand state buses are provided from the Pantnagar airport to the hill station or one can also fix a taxi.

 In these months, the maximum temperature is around 10o C; while the minimum temperature drops to 2o C. Kausani also experiences snowfall during the months of December and January.

Summer (March to June)

During this time, the maximum average temperature is around 25o C and minimum temperature revolves around 12 to 15o C.

Kausani receives heavy rainfall in the monsoon season. The maximum rainfall in the area has been recorded at 3048 mm (120 inches), while the minimum rainfall is around 1777 mm. (70 inches).

Baijnath

Baijnath is very famous and ancient temple of Hindu religion. It is located at an altitude of 1126 mts, on the banks of the Gomti River in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. This ancient temple is dedicated to Hindu god shiv.

Pinnath

 Pinnath is known for its temple of the same name which is located at the foot of the Gopalkot Peak and the upper portion of the Kosi Valley. The temple has a small conical structure that is dedicated to Bhairon. On October, a famous fair is celebrated at the village every year. The south of the temple lies a door, and is adorned with figures of rajahs on its walls. Indian arch, which has representations of the five Pandavas on its sides, form the roof of the portico. The adytum contains images of Mahadeva and Devi.

 The Anasakti Ashram is the place where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during the time he wrote the Anasakti Yog and it is also known as the “Gandhi Ashram”. The Ashram houses a museum that contains Mahatma Gandhi’s photographs and his writings.

Sumitranandan Pant Gallery

It is dedicated to the Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant, whose birth place is Kausani. The museum showcases his manuscripts of the poems and draft copies of his literary works. Collections of the museum also include over hundreds of English and Hindi books, displayed in glass shelves, the museum has become an interesting place for literature lovers. Every year, to mark the birth anniversary of the famous poet, a poetry conference is organized in this museum.

About Baijnath temple

Known as Kirangama, its name was changed after the temple was dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Vaidyanath or the "Lord of Physicians".

The Temple is a good example of Nagri style of architecture. The Baijnath temple is orientated due west. It consists of a puri or adytum, 8-feet-square inside and 18-feet outside, surmounted by a spire of the usual conical shape, and of a mandapa or front hall, 20-feet-square inside, covered with a low pyramid shaped roof.

Histoy of Baijnath temple

It is a 12th century temple on the banks of Gomti River. At an elevation of 1126 m. in the Garur valley of Katyur is the complex of Baijnath Temple. Built by the Katyuri kings there are ancient temples of Shiva, Ganesh, Parvati, Chandika, Kuber, Surya and Brahama. The Baijnath Temples dating back to the 12th and 13th century are constructed of stone. The temple complex exhibits the amazing architecture of the age. The main temple that houses the beautiful idol of Parvati is chiseled in black stone. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga.

Baijnath is situated at an elevation of 1125 meters above sea level. Baijnath is 19 kilometers from Kausani towards Bageswar. This ancient temple built in 804 Ad. Baijnath (16 Km) is dedicated to Lord Shiva Vaidyanath ("Lord of Physicians"), its tall Shikhara, carved in stone, stands out in the background of snow-capped peaks of the Dhauldhar range.

The Sobha Singh Art Gallery is situated in Andretta village 7.2 km from Baijnath Temple dedicated to the work of eminent artist Sobha Singh. sobha Singh is a veteran painter from the Sikh community and his masterpiece of Guru Nanak has brought him ample of fame. The art gallery displays some of the finest work of Sobha Singh, which includes portraits of Sohni-Mahinval and Hir-Ranjha. Today, Sobha Singh Art Gallery is an important art centre and holds great value in Punjab's heritage.

Chauntra and Chowgan

Chowgan Colony is a Tibetan refugee settlement in the Himalayan village of Chowgan on the outskirts of the town of Bir, in northern India. The colony is home to several monasteries, a Tibetan handicraft center, a village school, a branch of the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute, medical clinic, shops, cafés, and colourful guest houses. Billing is the launch point at 2400 metres (7874 feet) which is 14 km north of Bir, and the landing area is in the fields at the western edge of the Tibetan Colony in Chowgan.

Kareri Lake

A beautiful, picturesque lake, Kareri seems like a place which has been picked out of a Hollywood movie. Also known as Kumarwah Lake, it is a shallow, fresh water lake south of the Dhauladhar range.
