Auli is a "bugyal" which means meadow in the regional language. It is a lonely and beautiful place to enjoying the beauty of hill Auli in winter which is covered by snow and summer is enrich by green landscape. Auli is towards the north of the state and forms a part of the Garhwal mountain range. It is at a distance of 16 km from Joshimath on the Badrinath route. Auli is basically an adventure spot, so there are no signature shopping items and there aren't many shops to head out to and the town almost entirely lacks artisans and craftsmen. But if you must, head out to Joshimath and check out the local markets selling woolen shawls, Tibetan prayer wheels and Kullu caps. Alternatively you can pick up some wooden items and paintings from Dehradun.
