Auli Honeymoon Holiday Travel Package - Package Itinerary

Upon arrival at Dehradun airport or railway station meets with our representative and they will transfer you to hotel. Check into your hotel then get ready to visit some famous places of Dehradun which includes Tiger Falls, Clock Tower, Lacchiwalla. After having a lunch in Flavors restaurant later we visit some more places which are Ram Rai Gurudwara, Tibetan Buddhist Temple then in the evening back to your hotel.

Tiger Fall: it is a beautiful water fall, falling from a height of 50 mts. converging into a small pond which creates an enchanting effect in the scenic surroundings This is a famous picnic spot which is located in the backdrop of dark green woody trees. It can be reached by trekking for 5 km from Chakrata. The trekking route takes the travelers through the dense forests having rhododendron and oak trees. Tiger Falls flows down from a high mountain and collects into a small pond below.

 

Clock Tower:  Clock Tower, located on the Rajpur road, is one of the most prominent attractions of the destination.  Clock Tower is also known as Ghanta Ghar this six-faced tower might have ornamented a prestigious position in the history of this hilly region. It was built before independence by the British. Best time to visit is last week of Jan to first week of March for skiing though weather is highly unpredictable.

Best Time to Visit Auli for Honeymoon

November to February: - Again Auli becomes great place in winters (November to February), Weather is freezing with minimum temperatures below 0 °C. Snowfall is very common and this time is ideal for skiing.

March to June: - summers (March to June) are very pleasant in Auli with moderate climate around 15 °C and ideal for sightseeing. Monsoons (July to October) are rainy - temperature are around 12 °C but should be avoided.

July to November: - This time offers cool and pleasant climate and the right period to spend relaxing moments in the outdoors.

Joshimath to Auli Drive

The road from Joshimath to Clifftop Club (17 km) is a steep climb from about 5000 feet to 10,000 feet above sea level. The steep gradient coupled with ice on the road makes it unfit for vehicles during winters. The road is motorable by sturdy 4-wheel vehicles or by tying chains to the tires to reach Auli Clifftop hotel.

Caution on this Road in winter

However it is advised not to take a chance during winter seasons on this road as this road becomes very slippery and extremely tough to drive on the same.

Reaching Clifftop Club Auli in winters

In winters (from December end till mid March) the motor road from Joshimath to Auli is not operational due to heavy snowfall. Cable car is the only mode of transportation from Joshimath to Auli. The last trip of the cable car to the resort leaves Joshimath at 4:20 pm during winters (one hour late in summers). Tourists must reach Joshimath before the last trip of cable car. Tourists reaching late may have to stay in Joshimath overnight at their own expense. Guests visiting Clifftop Club have to alight at tower number eight of the cable car.

Guests who drive up to Joshimath can also leave their vehicles in the parking area at the Rope way Park at Joshimath and travel to Clifftop Club by ropeway to tower number eight with their luggage. The ropeway is Asia's highest and second largest. The other alternative is to travel by road from Joshimath to Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam's Tourist Reception Center at Auli (14 km). 

From Tower No 8 to Clifftop Club Auli

Tower number eight is a high tower and the elderly may find it difficult to use the stairs and walk down to the resort in snow. Visitors are also kindly advised to be careful with small children while getting down or climbing up the tower. The road to Clifftop Club is a difficult hill track.

Auli Artificial Lake

Auli boasts of the world's highest lake, it is located right next to the Clifftop Club hotel. The government has developed this in view of creating artificial snow on the new ski slopes in the event of low snow fall. The water from this lake is used to feed the snow guns stationed along the ski slopes and thus provide a good skiing surface and extend the ski season.

Famous Treks around Auli - Easy Trekking while Holidaying/Honeymooning

Kuari Pass Trek

Kuari Pass trek is the most famous trek which starts from Auli. Kuari which means “doorway” is a Himalayan high mountain pass on the western rim of the “Nanda Devi Sanctuary” Biosphere Reserve and falls in the Chamoli district. The Kuari Pass Trek found fame in the early 1900’s when Lord Curzon, Eric Shipton and Bill Tilman used the passage in their pioneering explorations of the region.The Kuari Pass trek is also known as The Curzon Trail (named after the former British Viceroy Of India “Lord Curzon”). Winter Kuari Pass trek is also can be undertaken to enjoy the snow trekking.

Auli lies in the way of the Badrinath route. In winter Badrinath temple is closed for 5–6 months. During this period the deity of Lord Badri Vishal is brought and kept in temple at Joshimath.

Auli Hanuman Temple

In Auli there is a small Hanuman temple, legand says when Laxman, younger brother of Lord Rama got injured fighting in Lanka (Sri Lanka).Hanuman flew from Lanka to fetch Sanjeevani Booty and during his way to Sanjivani mountain he took some rest in Auli before continuing his journey.

Indo Tibetan Police Training Centre

There is a training facility of Indo Tibetan Border Police. This force is responsible for guarding Indian borders at high altitude. Vishnu Prayag - It is a holy confluence of river Alaknanda and Dauli Ganga. Accessible from the Joshimath.

Badrinath - One of the four Dhaams. Very important for Hindus and who worships God Vishnu. Its closed in winter.

Tapovan - 'Tapo' meaning meditation, 'van' means forest in Sanskrit. The place is 15 km from Joshimath and has a temple and a natural hot water spring.

You can trek up to Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi Kamet, Mana Parvat, Dunagiri, and Joshimath from Auli.

Trishul Peak: Trishul Peak in the Auli region is the place where tourists gather for skiing. Situated in the Kumaon region, this peak is popular for providing skiing slopes to those who are enthused about the sport. Famous for its skiing slopes and the Nanda Devi National Park, Roopkund lake, popularly known as the ‘Mystery Lake situated on the foot of this peak  

          

Chenab Lake: Chenab Lake is located in the Dang Village, which is the last village of Joshimath. Travellers need to walk through an unpaved path, in order to reach this beautiful lake.

Chattarkund: Chattarkund is situated 1 km away from Gurso Bugyal, close to Auli. Surrounded by a dense forest, the lake holds sweet water.

 Bhavishya Badri: Bhavishya Badri that can be reached by travelling a distance of 3 km by foot from Tapovan is situated in the centre of a dense forest. The place stands at an elevation of 2,744 m and is one of the five badri shrines. Other badri shrines are Badrinath, Yog Dhyan Badri, Adi Badri and Vridha Badri.At the place, tourists can explore the famous lion headed image of Narasimha present in a temple. Lord Vishnu reincarnated as Narasimha in order to save Prahlad who was a great worshipper of the lord.

Gurso Bugyal: It is located 3 kmaway from Auli, at an elevation of 3,056 m above sea level. During spring season, it transforms into a land carpeted by green pastures. The land is surrounded by forest of conifers and oak. By ropeway, tourists can reach Joshimath that is 1.5 km away from its last tower. As accommodation facilities are not available at the site, tourists can visit the place during the day and return back to Auli by night.

Winter Ski Resort: This resort is lined with oak and deodar trees alongside and is an overall package that one looks for in an adventure trip. From January to April, the slopes are usually covered with a 3-metre thick carpet of snow, making it one of the best places for skiing in the country as per international standards.

Auli Artificial Lake: Auli Artificial Lake is one of the world's highest manmade lake. This lake was developed by the government in view of creating artificial snow on the new ski slopes at the time of low snow fall. Water from the lake is used to feed the snow guns stationed along the ski slopes. It assists in providing an apt skiing surface to help extend the ski season
