Radha Soami Satsang Beas together with its international affiliates (RSSB) is a philosophical organization based on the spiritual teachings of all religions and dedicated to a process of inner development under the guidance of a spiritual teacher. 

Beas is a  town named after river Beas near where the main centre is located near Amritsar. There are a number of other contemporary movements that use the name ‘Radha Soami’ but Radha Soami Satsang Beas is not associated with any of them.

RSSB was established in India in 1891 and gradually began spreading to other countries. Today RSSB holds meetings in more than 90 countries worldwide. It is a non-profit organization with no affiliation to any political or commercial organizations.

Dera Baba Jaimal Singh, or simply the ‘Dera’ as it is generally known, is a mini-township with 7,000 residents in Beas. Since the Dera is the home of the spiritual leader of the organization, large crowds visit on specially designated weekends to hear his discourses. These crowds average between 200,000 to 500,000 people depending on the season. The administration has become highly skilled in managing and providing facilities for large numbers of people on a short-term basis.

Dera’s engineering department has constructed one of the largest covered structures in Asia, designed and fabricated on site using a lightweight space-frame technology. The roof provides a covered area where up to 500,000 people can be seated, and which can easily be expanded as the need arises. A computerized digital audio system was specially designed for the venue to provide the best possible sound for such a challenging environment.

To feed the visitors three meals a day, The Free langar (a place where food is served free of charge) is offered. The free langar complex covers over 48 acres and operates around the clock. Capable of feeding up to 300,000 people per meal, 50,000 in a single sitting, it has a mostly volunteer staff who prepare and serve simple but nourishing food suitable to local tastes. 

The colony is visited by people from around the world and all walks of life. To provide temporary accommodations for everyone, a variety of facilities are offered, all free of charge. There are a number of guest hostels with individual rooms and attached baths, hostels with dormitory-style rooms, and other large buildings to house visitors.

The Dera seeks to be as self-sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible. Every year thousands of trees are planted. Many lawns and parks beautify the colony and provide space for visitors and residents to rest and relax. More than 1,250 acres of land are cultivated for growing vegetables and fruits that are used in the langar and by Dera residents. Organic farming methods are being adapted to local conditions. The Dera has its own water supply, water treatment plant and solid waste treatment facility. It has its own electrical sub-station and large electrical generator back-up facility to supply emergency power to the whole community. The Pathseekers School is a recent project for the children of Dera residents and the staffs of the Dera and Beas Hospitals.

About Devi Talab Mandir

Devi Talab Mandir is located in Jalandhar district of Punjab India.Devi Talab Mandir is at a distance of 84 Kms from Amritsar . It is a most famous temple in Jalandhar.Devi Talab Mandir is the most prominent place/structure of modern Jalandhar City. It is one of the most ancient Shaktipeeth in Punjab area , magnificent , vast and active temple of Jalandhar and along side area, with pyramidal shikhara of grabha griha covered with plates of gold and main shrine surrounded by sacred water pond(200 yrs. old). It is basically complex of various temples.But Main one, located in the centre enclosed by pond is the Temple of Mother Goddess Durga ( Maa Sherain Wali).

About Ram Tirth, Amritsar

The place has its history linked to the period of Ramayana, that is believed to be the home of Maharishi Balmiki and it is also famous as Ram Tirth in the city of Amritsar. This place is located at a distance of 11 km from Amritsar. The glorious past of this place is that it is the birth place Luv and Kush, sons of Lord Rama and Devi Sita.

The place is considered to be sacred since it has been during the ancient time house of saint Balmiki. The known scripts of Ramayana have been believed to be written on the ashram located here. The remains of the hut of Saint Balmiki can still be located at this place in Ram Tirth.

Devi Sita after delivering Luv and Kush stayed at this place for a long period of time. There is a well that was plowed by Hanuman so that Devi Sita can bathe can still be seen at this place and hence it gives that the confirmation that Devi Sita stayed at this place.

The devotees of Lord Rama and Devi Sita still worship this place to pray their entreaties to the deities. This place is easy to reach since it is located at an easily accessible location.

Durgiana Mandir, Amritsar

The temple that looks very similar to the Golden Temple in its architectural looks is the Durgiana Temple in Amritsar that is dedicated to Goddess Durga. This temple was built in the 16th century and the other name given to the temple is the Lakhsmi Narayan Temple.

The temple was inaugurated by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya who was a known name in the Indian Politics. The temple also has a holy water tank, numerous arenas and dome located in the center and each of the interior in the temple has a unique story linked to its existence.

The figures of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Narayana and Lord Ganesha are also worshiped in the temple. The figures in the temple are very eye-catching since they are very pious and look even more vibrant in the divine environment of the temple.
