In Ladakhi folklore, paradise is to be found in this world itself in the mythical northern region of 'Shambha-La' . We have tried to recreate this popular myth in our beautiful resort located in a grove of poplar trees just a mile from the heart of Leh town. Its peaceful and tranquil settings give new meaning to the words 'sound of silence'. The hotel is run hands-on by the owners Mr. & Mrs. Narboo who also live on the premises. His late father, Sonam Narboo was awarded the Padmashree for distinguished services to the nation, He constructed the Leh Airport in 1948, when Pakistan was trying to occupy the region at the time of partition of the country. Leh - Srinagar highway was also his contribution to the country, among many other achievements.

About Ladakh:

Ladakh, the land of many passes, snow clad mountains and deserts is among the highest of the world's inhabited plateaus. It lies at altitudes ranging from about 2,750 meters at Kargil to 7,672 meters at Saser Kangri in the Karakoram. Leh Valley itself lies at 3,500 meters (11,500 feet). The summer temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, while in winter they may drop to -40°C in some high altitude areas.

Leh is well connected to New Delhi by Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Air India and a number of newer airlines all of whom operate daily flights round the year. Flight is of one-hour duration and as these flights tend to be heavily booked reservations should be made well in advance especially for the peak summer month of May, June, July August & September. Air India also operates to Leh from Srinagar & Jammu. Booking well in advance will also ensure availability of very attractive discounted fares.

By Road:

Between May to November one can travel by motorcar from Manali to Leh which is a two-day journey or from Srinagar to Leh which also takes the same time but is a much better road.

Tso Moriri Lake – Lake Surrounded By Snow Mountains!

Tso Moriri Lake, also known as Mountain Lake or Lake Moriri, is the lake on the highest altitude in India. This lake is located in Rupshu Valley, in between the three districts i.e. Ladakh in north, Zanskar in west and Tibet in east. The lake water source is none other than the snow peaks in Changthang plateau. Lake is fed by two main streams, one from north direction and other from south direction. Lake is 19 kms long and 7 kms wide which has no drainage system. The Lake water is crystal clear deep blue in color but salty in taste. Lake is a good place to relax and visit nearby monasteries or gompas.

Pangong  Lake – Most Beautiful Lake in the World!

Pangong lake is the largest brackish lake in Asia. This lake is located in India and China. The longest part lies in China and the 40% lies in India. This lake is 134 km long and 5 km wide at its broadest point. This lake has salty water and still it freezes in the winter. This lake has no marine life and still it serves as a home for migrating birds. The lake also holds many other minerals which are created by the snow. It is seen that this lake changes its color with every season. Lake sprinkles the color of green, purple, violet and blue.

Kargil – Zanskar Gateway!

Kargil is located at the line of control to Pakistan’s Baltistan in west and Kashmir in south. Kargil is 204 kms away from Srinagar and 234 kms away from Leh and is located at the Suru River. Kargil people follow the Buddhism religion. In the past, Kargil was the center for Pan Asian trade work. Kargil has many mosques with Arabic inscriptions on all. Kargil can also be visited for adventure activities like trekking, camping, river rafting etc. The main attraction in Kargil is Mulbek which has a 9 mtr tall rock carving. Kargil also has many places near river bank or on the hills side to take a good stroll.
