Maa Brajeshwari Temple- The famous Brajeshwari Temple is situated at a walking distance from Hotel Maurya. Brajeshwari Devi temple is one the famous Shaktipeeths in India. The temple is said to have been built over the charred breasts of Devi Sati. Brajeshwari Devi is also known as Vajrabai & Vajrayogini & is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. This temple has been plundered relentlessly many times for its wealth by invaders.
Kangra Fort-The famous Kangra Fort is situated at a distance of 3 Kms from Hotel Maurya located at a place known as Nagarkot. The torrential Banganga River deep in the valley forming a formidable sheer and the Kangra Fort lurking atop the mountain presents a wonderful view. Near the entrance of fort, there is museum containing valuable sculptures, idols, historical coins, carvings and painting. There are three temples in the vicinity-Ambika Devi Temple, Jain Temple & Lakshmi Narayan Temple. The place is also known as ‘Purana Kangra’.
Kangra Rail-The Kangra Valley rail is one of the oldest narrow gauge rail tracks laid by the Britishers in India. It passes through hilly terrains & meanders through a maze of valleys offering a very enchanting & scenic view of the Dhauladhar.
