The famous Vindhyavasini Devi Temple situated on the banks of the River Ganga is a Shakti Peeth dedicated to Goddess Kali.
The temple is situated in Vindhyachal, 8 km from Mirzapur District Heaquarter and 70kms from Varanasi.It is one of the most revered Shaktipeeths of the presiding deity, Vindhyavasini Devi. The idol of Goddess Kali is also known as Kajali Devi by the locals. Godess Kali is an embodiment of benediction and love.
Vindhya Parvat or Vindhyachal Mountain is a small hillock with lots of water bodies, where famous Saktipeeths of Vindhyavasini is located, it is in Mirzapur Uttrapradesh. Godess Vindhyavasini or Kajali Devi is worshipped in the form of an 5 feet tall Black idol adorned with sliver eyes,bangles,necklace,garlands mounted on a lion sitauted in a sanctum called Garbagriha.The exterior alcoves are enshrined with shivlingas and gigantic statue of Lord Hanuman. There are big yagna kundas to perform hawans.

Maa Vindhyavasini Temple closes at 12:00 am except in Navratras and opens 4:00 am in the morning. Immeditaely after opening, 'Mangla Aarti' is performed and devotees are allowed to seek blessings from Devi Mata from 5:00 am. The temple is again closed at 12 Noon for 'Bhog Aarti' and is re-opens at 1:30 pm. The temple is again closed for 'Chotti Aarti' at 7:15 pm and re-opened at 8:15 pm. At 9:30 pm the temple is closed for 'Badi Aarti' and opened again for devotees at 10:30 pm.
