Festivals and Events in Nashik

In September the city comes alive with Vinayak Chaturthi celebrations wherein there are elaborate processions and eye-catching rituals like immersion of Ganapati idols in the sacred water of Godavari River. Holi is another festival in Nashik that is celebrated with much enthusiasm; however the most important festival in Nasik is Kumbha Mela, which is celebrated once in twelve years coinciding with the Allahabad Kumbha Mela.
