Una Tourism: Itinerary

Day 01: Chandigarh-Una(Arround 123 km/2-3 Hours)

Start the Journey from Chandigarh and proceed to una. It is around 123 km and take 2-3 hours to complete journey. Enroute visit Naina Devi, Have a darshan of Maa Naina Devi Ji. After arrival una check into hotel, rest of the day is for your leisure and overnight stay at hotel.

Naina Devi: Shri Naina Devi Ji is one of the most notable places of worship in Himachal Pradesh. Located in Distt Bilaspur. it is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths where limbs of Sati fell on Earth. This holy place witnesses the huge crowd of pilgrims and devotees round the year and especially during Shravan Ashtami and in the Navratras of Chaitra & Ashwin.

Day 02: Una Local sightseeing

After breakfast visit local sightseeing of una Like Dhyunsar mahadev Temple, Kila Baba Bedi ji, Pir Nagah. The rest of the day is for your leisure. After that came back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Dhyunsar Mahadev temple:  The temple is located in the village of Bahia Una. Legend has it that the Pandavas in Mahabharata Elaborating family priest whose name had been Dunsar. That priest was a devotee of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva blessed him and he was delighted that some will seek a sincere devotee of the temple would meet all its Mnokamnana.Before the temple was known as Dunsareshwar Sadashiva Tirtha. Later it came to be called Dunsar Mahadev Temple. It was a great saint Swami Uttarkashi. A large number of devotees visit this temple during Shivaratri to come. Milk and yogurt are plated idol of the Lord.

Kila Baba Bedi ji: A historic mausoleum situated atop a mountain which offers some great views of the surroundings, Kila Baba Bedi ji is a famous tourist spot. The Kila is a dome built in an interesting Indian and Afghani architectural style and is also known to be the ancestral place of the First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak.

Day 03: Una Other Attractions

After breakfast visit some other attractions of una and near by places. You can visit like Pong dam, Govind Sagar lake, Kutlehar fort. After that came back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Pong Dam: Pong Dam is constructed across the River Beas and is considered to be the highest earthen dam in India. This dam is situated in the Kangra District and is also known as the Maharana Pratap Sagar Dam. The dam is at a height of 450 m and is spread across 45,000 hectares of land.

Govind Sagar Lake: Gobind Sagar Lake is situated near the Sutlej River and comes under the Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh. The lake is 90 km long and covers an area of approximately 170 sq. km. It has been named after the tenth and last guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. The lake is connected with a reservoir, where tourists can indulge in activities like boating, sailing, water skiing and water scooter racing. 

Kutlehar Fort: Kutlehar Forts, also known as the Forts of Sola Singhi, are situated at a height of 4500 m above sea level. These forts were constructed by the Kangra Ruler Sansar Chandra. Later in 1809, these forts were renovated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Ten out of sixteen forts at this site are in ruins and are situated opposite the Pong Dam.

After breakfast check out from hotel and visit mari and chintpurni. You can visit famous gurudwra in Maidi Baba Bhadwag sigh gurudwara, after that famous Temple chintpurni , Enroute also visit Bombay Picnic spot and Jwala ji. After that check into hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Baba Bharbhag Singh: The HOLA MOHALLA FAIR is an annual fair celebrated at the Dera Gurbarbhag Singh. Held in the Bikrami month of Phagun on a full moon day (February-March), this fair remains for a total of ten days. It stays there for a week after and even for a week before the actual full moon it. The festival is famous for pilgrims coming here with their relatives who have been affected by evil spirits or other devilish influences. Besides offering the Salutations at the Gurudwara, Pilgrims also offer prayers on ‘dhaulidhar’ or ‘charan ganga’ particularly during the full moon day. Considered Sacred by many, the waterfall here is also used by people who take this water home. 

Maa chintpurni: The one of the most famous place in una is Maa chintpurni Devi temple. Mata Chintpurni Devi is one of the many manifestations of the Supreme Goddess Durga. In this form She is also called Maa Chinnamasta or Maa Chinnamastika - the one with detached head. We humans have endless desires; desires steer us towards anxiety and worry. The Divine Mother relieves Her devotees from worries (chinta) by fulfilling all their desires. That's why, appropriately called MATA CHINTPURNI.

Rock Garden: The name refers to a sculpture garden located near Sukhna Lake. The Rock garden is also known by the name Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder. Nek Chand was a former government official who started cultivating this garden secretly in his spare time.

Rose Garden:  The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is the largest botanical garden in Asia that is dedicated to roses. The garden is named after Zakir Hussain the former President of India. Apart from roses the garden also features several verities of medicinal herbs.

Baba Rudranand Ashram: Baba Rudranand Ashram is situated in the Amlehar village that lies on the ridge of Jaswan Dhar, near Talwara. The ashram is known for an annual fair organised during the Kushotpaatini, Amavasaya and also for the special celebrations on Shri Krishna Janamashtmi, Makar Sankranti and Shivaratri. Other important fairs and festivals organised at the ashram are the Vyas Puja, Nirjala Ekadashi Fair, Panch Bhisham Mela and Baba Rudru’s Jayanti. There is also an akhand dhoona at this place which is believed to have been burning since 1850.

Pir Nigah:  The one of the holy Place in Una is Pir Nigah. Pir Nigaha Shrine is situated in the Basoli Village, which is around 8 km away from the Una Town. A fair is organised at the shrine on Thursdays.

Maa Jwala Ji: the another holy place is Jwala devi. Have a darshan Of Maa jwala devi. Jwala Devi temple is also known as Jwala Ji temple located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh is one of its kind, there is no idol placed inside, but a flame. It is one of the 51 Shaktipitha and Hindus believe that a visit to Jwala Devi temple in Kangra leads to end of their struggle and commencement of happy days. There are interesting stories that bounds the faith of its pilgrims.Jwala Devi temple has a series of dome, covered with gold. The gold atop the white structure, with green hills on the backdrop.

Bombay Picnic Spot: Bombay Picnic Spot is a renowned place for picnic & family gatherings on Jalandhar - Dharamshala highway towards famous north Indian pilgrim centers of Chintapurni Ji and Jawala Ji. Surrounded by nature the Bombay Picnic spot is an ideal place to relax and have entertainment with family.

Pinjore Garden: The Pinjore gardens were created by a Nawab under the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The garden was expanded and reconstructed by the Maharaja Yadavindra of the State of Patiala. The garden houses several palatial structures that display a distinct blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles of architecture.

Sukhna Lake: Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas, the Shivalik hills. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills.
