Mahakal is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingams, which are supposed to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the Rudra Sagar lake. The presiding deity, Shiva in the lingam form is believed to be Swayambhu, deriving currents of power (Shakti) from within itself as against the other images and lingams that are ritually established and invested with mantra-shakti.

Day1: Arrive Ujjain + Ujjain temple tour
Tour starts form Ujjain, the city of Temples. You will be pickup by taxi driver from railway station and transfer to Hotel. After lunch and some relax we will proceed for all sightseeing attractions includes: Mahakaleshwar temple, Sandipani Ashram, Iskcon temple, Harsiddhi Temple, Ram Ghat, Shakti Peeth, Bade Ganesh Ka Mandir etc. After all sightseeing come back to hotela and overnight stay at hotel in Ujjain.

Today early morning at 3 am you will proceed MMahakaleshwar Temple to attend Bhasm Aarti which start by 4 am till 6 am every morning. After attend aarti come back to hotel and have breakfast. Then move towards the omkareshwar which has another jyotirlinga temple - Mamleshwar and reached by 11:30 am then proceed for Omkareshwar temple, Siddhnath Temple and Go Dense (Kajal Rani Caves). After lunch and all sightseeing of Omkareshwar again back to Ujjain with 4 .5 hours of journey and relax in the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Ujjain Ardha Kumbh (half Kumbh)
The Ardha Kumbh(half Kumbh) is held every six years. Legend has it that a kumbh (pot) containing nectar arose from the depths of the ocean because of a tug-of-war between the gods and the demons. The ocean was churned with the help of the snake Vasuki, and Mount Meru.
A fight broke out between the gods and the demons over the pot of nectar. In the ensuing conflict, drops of nectar fell on the places that are now Prayag(Allahabad), Nasik, Hardwar and Ujjain.
Ujjain Shivaratriis
The age-old festival of Shivaratriis dedicated to Shiva, the Destroyer in the Hindu Holy Trinity of Creator-Preserver-Destroyer. Devotees flock to the temples at dawn and make special offerings of berries and belpatra or leaves of the wood apple. The Shiva linga (Shiva’s symbolic phallus) is bathed with milk and honey and worshipped on Shivaratri.

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga

Kal Bhairava
According to the Saivite culture, the veneration of the eight Bhairavas is an integral feature of the Hindu customs. The main among these Bhairavas is the Kal Bhairava, assumed to be constructed by the monarch Bhadresen, near the riverbanks of Shipra. This shrine has been cited in the Avanti Khanda of Skanda Purana.

Omkareshwar Temple
The temple of Omkareshwar is one of the most popular pilgrimage spots in India. Situated on Mandhata island (shaped like the holy “Om” sign), the temple is considered to be one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. Omkareshwar temple is closely associated with Mammaleshwar temple, as both these temples are deemed as single form of Lord Shiva. The island, formed on the course way of river Narmada, is 20 km from Mortakka in Madhya Pradesh.
Legend has it, Ambarish and Mucchkund, the two sons of King Mandhata, practised austerities in this place and pleased the lord. They also performed various other religious sacrifices, which made Shiva to fulfil their wishes. The temple, which follows the Nagara style of architecture, can be reached via ferry from the riverbanks.

The cave of Kajal Rani is located at a distance of 9 km from Omkareshwar and one of the main tourist attractions of this place. The Kajal Rani Cave offers a view of long and broad stretches of the surrounding undulating lands.
