NavratriNavratri is celebreated on a grand scale in in entire Gujrat that goes non-stop for nine nights with devotees celebrate Goddess Shakti’s manifestation and victory over Mahishsura. People also perform the folk dance of Gujarat called Garba with great Enthusiasm.

Uttrayan – This festival is celebrated to observe the end of winter season and give a warm welcome to the summer season. The international kite festival is celebrated on this day.

Textile Expo - Textile Expo Surat is one of the chief attractions of Surat as this city is hub of textile mills. This fair is organized to show the achievements of textile industry of Surat.

The Trineteshwer Mahadev fair – This fair is of great importance in Surat because it attracts attention of a lot of tourists here. This festival is observed by the locals dressed up in colorful ornaments and attires with local dance and music performances.

Dang Darbar: The Dangs Darbar is an annual fair held in Ahwa every year, a few days before Holi. It is also called the Jamabandi Darbar. Thousands of tribal people flock to Ahwa from all over  the district, gaily dressed in lively colours, sounding the shehnai and beating their drums.

Grishm Mahotsav – This fair is organized by the Gujarat Tourism during month of May to bring tourists familiar to the Art and cultural of Saputara region.

Monsoon festival – This is a month long festival that is organized in the month of August aimed to bring tourists to Saputara in the month of monsoon.

7 day trip itinerary for South Gujrat Travel Package

Day 1 Ahmedabad – Surat (264km/4h)

Our representatives will pick you from Airport/Railway station and transfer you to the pickup point. We will drive for Surat from here. Upon reaching you’ll be transferred to the hotel for check in, rest and dinner.

Day 2 Sightseeing in Surat

We will leave the hotel early morning and visit Swaminarayan temple. This is one of the many temples that belongs to the the Swaminarayan Sect of Vaishnavism. This temple is located on the banks of River Tapti and was made in year 1996. The shrines of this temple are brightly colored with detailed wooden carvings on the walls.

From here we will travel to Old Fort that is situated on the banks of River Tapti, followed by Chintamani Jain Temple and Sardar Vallabhai Patel museum.

We will return to hotel for overnight and dinner.

Day 3 Surat beach sightseeing (18km)

Today we will wake up early morning and leave for Ambika Niketan Temple. This temple is located on the banks of River Tapti and is devoted to Mother Goddess, Goddess Ashtabhuja Ambika.

From here we drive further to Dumas beach which is located at a distance of 18 Kms from Surat.It is a beautiful beach with pristine seashores and palm trees that offers a decent view for tourists. You can have a camel ride or a horse ride here as they are conducted for fun activities.

From here we will leave for Hajira beach that is 31 km away from Dumas. This place is famous for an island with mangrove forests and Hajira bird sanctuary. After spending the day here we will return to hotel in Surat for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Surat – Ahwa – Surat (133km/3h)

Today we will drive for Ahwa early morning after breakfast in the hotel. Ahwa is in Satpura region of South Gujrat famous for Old buildings and waterfalls. Gujrat’s highest waterfall, Girmal falls is located here. Water falls from a height of 100 ft amidst the fog that surrounds this region. From here we will visit Gira Falls. This waterfall is made because of Kapri tributary falling from a height of 75 ft and drops into the Ambika River.

Other places worth visiting here are.

Gavadgarh View point: This view point that was developed by the forest department to provide visitors a fine view of Purna Sanctuary that is surrounded by Gira River.

Saptashrungi Devi Mandir: This is one of the most important religious destinations here. Saptashrungi Devi is the sister of Godess Kali. This place is renowned with seven hills surrounding this area.

Botanical Gardens: Established in 1966, this garden is the largest garden in Gujarat as spread in 24 hectares of land made for conservation of rare, endangered and endemic species of trees and plants.

We will return to Surat for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 5 - Surat – Dabhoi – Surat (149km/2h)

Today we will start in the morning after breakfast and travel to Dabhoi. Dabhoi is of great importance for people of Jain religion. There are 6 Jain temples out of which Shri Lodhan Parshvanath temple is the most important one.

After visiting these temples we will visit the old Hira Bhagol Palace which is named after its architect, Hiradhar. The architecture here consists of beautifully carved designed comprising inscriptions of Hindu deities like Shiva, Lakshmi and Vishnu along with scene of churning of the ocean and stories from Mahabharata. 

We will return to Surat for overnight and dinner.

Day 6 - Surat – Saputara (152km/2.39h)

Today we check out from the hotel and leave for Saputara after breakfast, upon reaching we will check in a hotel here and then leave for local sightseeing. Saputara is a hill station town in Gujarat and means home of the Serpent. This place is visited by many tourists seeking pleasant climate and scenic view from the surrounding areas. The forest area around Saputara is house of many tribal villages and their unique dances.

Today we will visit Saputara lake for boating and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, from here we will travel to Saputara tribal museum and then to Artists village which is a great place to see and buy artifacts that include bamboo craft, warli paintings, jewellery and pottery etc.

The day will end with Saputara Ropeway ride across the valley, on the other side you can enjoy panoramic views of the hill station.

Day 7 – Saputara – Ahmedabad (388km/6h)

We will wake up early morning and visit the sunrise point that is located at a distance of 1.5 km and can be reached by walking. This place offers a beautiful view of the hill station and the surrounding valley. From here we will check out from the hotel and leave for Ahmedabad. On our way we will stop at Hatgad Fort which is situated at a very high altitude and can be reached only by trekking or by climbing 100+ stairs.

After visiting the fort we will continue our drive for Ahmedabad where upon reaching you’ll be dropped at the railway station/airport.
