Day 1: Arrive at Shimla and Transfer to Janjehli
Arrive at the Shimla airport and head towards Janjehli. Janjehli is located at a distance of 157 km. from the Shimla airport. It takes around 6 hours to reach Janjehli. Upon reaching Janjehli, check in to the hotel and relax for some time. Later, head to explore the very beautiful Janjehli Valley.
Janjehli Valley is set at an altitude of 2150 metres. The natural beauty and green meadows of the valley make it a paradise on earth.
In the evening, talk a walk down the streets of the town. Feel the culture of the town and indulge in some local shopping. After exploring the town, head back to the hotel.

Day 2: Explore Janjehli
Begin the 2nd day of your Himachal Pradesh vacation trip with lip smacking breakfast. This day you will explore the popular sightseeing places in Janjehli.
This day of Janjehli trip is dedicated to adrenaline pumping adventure activities. Janjehli is famous destination among hikers. It gives an excellent opportunity to hikers, who can trek up to a height of 3,300 metres. On needs to walk or ride a motorbike to trek at some spots. The trek route offers beautiful view of the dense forests. The cold breezy climate with sun shining over your head makes it an unforgettable experience. Do not forget to click pictures of the flora and fauna around Janjehli.
Visit the Shikari Devi temple. It is one of the most sacred temples in Janjehli. If you believe in mythology, then this temple will surely interest you. The temple is said to be in existence since Mahabaharata days and there are many stories associated with it. In fact, it is said that Pandava brothers used to mediate here during their exile period.
Kamrung temple is another temple that you may visit in Janjehli. In the evening, you will head back to your hotel and take delicious dinner. Prepare for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Janjehli to Chindi (80 km / 3 hrs)
Start this day of your Shimla tour with morning breakfast. Then you will check out from the hotel and drive towards Chindi. The distance between Janjehli to Chindi is 78 km. and it takes around 3 hours of drive to reach the destination. After you reach Chindi, check in to the hotel and have lunch. Later you head for sightseeing in Chindi.
Karsog Valley located near to Chindi is an ideal place for nature lovers. The place has lush green meadows that makes it magnificent. It is a perfect getaway from the metro life. You may also visit ancient temple here and experience the holiness of the valley.
Later visit the Apple Orchards that are spread in wide area. At this place, you will feel very close to nature. Make sure you carry your camera to click lot of pictures.
If you have some time in hand, you can drive to Prashar Lake. The lake offers beautiful views of the surrounding vistas. You can also check out the pagoda style temple on the banks of this lake.

In the evening, explore the popular markets of Shimla. If you want to shop artistic items made of wood or woollen clothes then visit Mall Road. Lakkar Bazaar is another popular shopping spot in Shimla for tourists. Do not forget to try the local street food and experience the local culture of the city.

Day 5: Explore Shimla
The 5th day of Shimla vacations begins with hot breakfast at the hotel. Today you will explore some of the famous places in Shimla.
For adventure lovers who love activities that keeps the adrenaline rush high, ice-skating is the right sport. In the morning, visit the Ice Skating Rink. The entrance fee is very nominal. Enjoy the skating experience with clear blue skies.
Jakhu Hanuman Temple is around 2 km. trek away from Shimla. The Hanuman temple is located in dnese forest of Jakhu Hills. The route towards the temple is beautiful and soul fulfilling. The incredible view of Shivalik Mountains make it even more pleasant.
Chadwick Waterfalls is at a distance of 7 km. from Shimla. For nature lovers, the waterfall is just the right place. Enjoy the splendid view of water falling from the height of 67 meters.
Visit the Summer Hills in the evening. It is located just beyond the Chadwick Waterfalls. The place offers extraordinary view of sunset. Make sure you reach here before the sunset to experience the nature closely.

Day 6: Day Excursion to Kufri

How to Reach Shimla
By Flight: The nearest airport to Shimla is situated at Jubbarhatti, 22 kms from Shimla has regular flights from Delhi but due to bad weather conditions, flights may be irregular. Alternatively better option is to reach Chandigarh Airport at a distance of 120 Kms away, from Chandigarh, you can board Holiday Travel Taxi to reach Shimla in approx 2.5-3 hours.
By Toy Train from Kalka: From Kalka, the Narrow-Gauge Kalka-Shimla UNESCO - Heritage Toy Train connects to Shimla. The total distance covered is 96 kms from Kalka to Shimla with 107 Tunnels & 864 Bridges. The Shimla toy train starts Journey at 656 meters (2,152 ft) above sea level in Kalka and reaches Shimla at an altitude of 2,076 meters.
The route offers a panoramic feast of the picturesque Himalayas from the Shivalik foot hills at Kalka to several important points such as Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat, Taradevi, Barog, Salogra, Summerhill and Shimla. The Railway has 919 curves, the sharpest being 48 degrees. The journey takes about five-and-a-half hours to reach Shimla.
By Train: Indian Railways connects up-to Kalka (about 100kms from shimla) by broad-gauge line. The Kalka station is connected to most major cities in India, including Delhi and Calcutta.

Shikari Devi Templez
Shikari Devi temple is about 18 Kms from Janjehli and connected by a jeepable Forest road. It is situated at an altitude of 3359 Mtr. Thick forests on the way to Shikari peak are amazing. It is also said that Pandava brothers meditated here during the exile period and was later blessed by Goddess Durga for their victory. Every year during the Navaratri days fair is held here, which attracts a large number of devotees from all over the world.
Mamleshwar Temple: Mamleshwar temple is around 13 km away from Chindi and is believed to have been constructed by the Pandava . The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, whose idol has been carved out of a stone. This shrine has carved wooden pillars with artistic woodwork. It is famous for a drum that measures 6 ft in length and a single grain of wheat which weighs around 250 grams.
Ardhnrishwar Temple: Ardhnarishwar Temple is a sacred temple of hindus, Situated in Mandi Himachal Pradesh, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. The name “Ardhnarishwaer” means a person or a deity that is half man and half woman. The right half of the stone image in the temple represents Lord Shiva and the left half his consort Parvati.
Prashar Lake: Prashar Lake lies 49 km north of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India, with a three storied pagoda-like temple dedicated to the sage Prashar. The lake is located at a height of 2730 m above sea level with deep blue waters and holds a saintly position there. The deep blue lake lies in a saucer shaped valley and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The primary inflows to the natural sweet water lake are rain water and glacier runoff/meltwater and the lake depth is unclear as of now.

The Scenic Janjehli valley, 67 Km from Mandi, is a tranquil and calm place. The Beauty of which is enhanced by its lush surroundings and soothing greenery. The Valley can be used as the base for a variety of treks to places like Shikari Devi, Chindi, Karsag and Shoja. The journey on foot begins from there.
