Day 1: Arrive at Delhi, Delhi Sightseeing and Overnight Journey to Shimla
On arrival at Delhi railway station/airport, our representative will assist you to transfer to the hotel. Having freshened up, head for sightseeing tour of Delhi.

Day 2: Shimla Sightseeing
After taking off the tiredness, have scrumptious breakfast and head for local sightseeing in Shimla.
Located in the heart of the city, The Ridge is a famous wide open street near Mall road. It has everything from shopping to sightseeing. Here you can shop for souvenirs while enjoying the spectacular view of the snow-clad mountains encircling the natural beauty of Shimla. Day 3: Day Excursion to Kufri and Fagu

Day 4: Drive from Shimla to Manali

Day 5: Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley
Gear up this morning with hot breakfast and begin your sightseeing in and around Manali. Today you will drive 51 km. to reach Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley.
En-route visit Vashist Hot Water Springs and Temples. You can take a dip in the natural hot sulphur springs that are known to their healing properties.
Solang Valley is a haven for adventure junkies. It is one of the must-see attractions in Manali. During winters the valley is covered in snow while in summers it becomes a lush green carpet. Few of the activities that you can enjoy here in winters are skiing, snow scooter, sledging, ice skating, etc. while in summers, you can enjoy paragliding, horse riding, yak riding, mountain biking, zorbing, etc.
Rohtang Pass is the highest peak in Manali and this is where you will find lots of snow to play around. The view from here completely mesmerising. However, you must note that this area is not accessible during winters from November to May.
After an exhilarating day, head back to Manali for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Manali to Amritsar
Early morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and reach the airport to transfer to Amritsar. The flight duration is 1 hour 10 minutes. On arrival, complete your check-in formalities and head out to explore the popular attractions in Amritsar.
Amritsar is a glittering city showcasing the traditional and secular culture. It is not only an important devout centre but also has many significant historical sites exhibiting the glorious past.

By Flight: The nearest airport to Shimla is situated at Jubbarhatti, 22 kms from Shimla has regular flights from Delhi but due to bad weather conditions, flights may be irregular. Alternatively better option is to reach Chandigarh Airport at a distance of 120 Kms away, from chandigarh , you can board Holiday Travel Taxi to reach Shimla in approx 2.5-3 hours.
By Toy Train from Kalka: From Kalka, the Narrow-Gauge Kalka-Shimla Unesco - Heritage Toy Train connects to Shimla.The total distance covered is 96 kms from Kalka to Shimla with 107 Tunnels & 864 Bridges. The Shimla toy train starts Jouney at 656 meters (2,152 ft) above sea level in Kalka and reaches Shimla at an altitude of 2,076 meters.
The route offers a panoramic feast of the picturesque Himalayas from the Shivalik foot hills at Kalka to several important points such as Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat, Taradevi, Barog, Salogra, Summerhill and Shimla. The Railway has 919 curves, the sharpest being 48 degrees.The journey takes about five-and-a-half hours to reach Shimla.
By Train: Indian Railways connects up-to Kalka ( about 100kms from shimla) By broad-gauge line.The Kalka station is connected to most major cities in India, including Delhi and Calcutta.

Places to visit in Shimla
Shimla Ridge: the town spills downwards, with winding roads linking up settlements and stone steps connecting each layer. The Cart Road encircles the base of the main settlement, and is the highest motorable road of Shimla. The Mall is open only to pedestrians. There is a lift run by the Himachal Tourist Department that connects the railway stations and Cart Road to the Mall.
The Mall Shimla: The Mall Shimla is the main attraction in Shimla, lined with shops selling woolen garments and shawls, handicrafts, departmental stores, eateries and old colonial timber houses. There is a palpable change of character from the times when the Mall was strictly out of bounds for all natives except royalty, to the Indian crowds that walk down it today.
Christ Church: At the eastern edge of the Ridge is the famous Christ Church, which was consecrated in 1857. It is a prominent yellow painted building with a Victorian-Gothic spire. In the church some of the finest stained glass windows in India depict faith, hope, charity, fortitude, patience, and humility.
Tudor Library: Nearby to the church is the mock- Tudor Library, which was built in 1910.
Scandal Point: On the other extreme of the Ridge is the Scandal Point. A statue of the Lala Lajpat Rai dominates the place and groups of local people gather here in the afternoon for some casual chit-a-chat. The temple of Kali Bari is nearby to the Scandal Point enshrines the idol of Shyamla Devi, the presiding deity of Shimla. Town Hall reminds of the colonial past of Shimla, the timber lined General Post Office and the old Gaiety Theatre remind of teh Britishb Era. This popular hall was home to the Shimla Amateur Dramatic Society, complete with a gentlemen’s club where the discussion veered around the noble pursuit of cricket and horse racing.
St. Michael’s Cathedral/ Shimla church: The other important church, St. Michael’s Cathedral, which is built like a cruciform, is just off the Mall. Vice Regal Lodge, now known as the Rashtrapati Niwas (President’s House) is the most impressive colonial edifice of Shimla, located on the top of Observatory Hill, this Elizabethan mansion was built in 1888 for Lord Dufferin. It now houses the Institute of Advanced Studies, and is open only in some parts to the public.
The Glen: A thickly wooded area 4 kms to the northwest past the Cecil Hotel, Chadwick Falls, at 1,586 metres where the river drops 67 metres and is best visited during the monsoons.
The Sankat Mochan Temple: About 7 kms on the Shimla-Kalka road and the Himalayan Aviary close to the Viceregal Lodge, with a selection of birds like the monal, pheasant, pea fowls and peacocks. The Summer Hill is in suburbs of Shimla and is located about 5 kms away the town and a stop on the Kalka-Shimla rail line, has quiet walks through wooded surroundings. Naldehra: Naldehra, at an altitude of 2050 m and 23 km from Shimla on Shimla- Tattapani road, houses the oldest and the highest golf course in India. In the middle of the course is a temple, Mahunag Mandir. It was a favorite pastime spot of Lord Curzon.
Chail: Chail is a lush green setting and was the former capital of the Patiala State. It has the world’s highest cricket ground at a height of 2250 m, built in 1893. It is also a hiker’s paradise and there is a wildlife sanctuary at a distance of 3 km from here. Himachal Tourism runs the Palace Hotel (Earlier the Palace of Maharaja Of Patiala)
Fagu: Fagu Situated on Hindustan-Tibet Road (22-km), at a height of 2,450m Fagu is gifted with some enchanting views. Himachal Tourism runs the Hotel peach Blossom.
Kufri: Kufri, at distance of 16 km from Shimla and at an altitude of 2510 m above sea level, is a site offering some famous hikes and wonderful snow for skiing in winters. An enjoyable walk leads up to the Mahasu Peak. The Himalayan Nature Park here has a good collection of animals and birds found in the region.
Mashobra: Situated on Shimla-Naldehra road at a height of 2149 mt. . A place of unique beauty, Mashobra is an ideal interlude beneath the oaks and the pines. Featuring beautiful gardens spattered with the daffodils, hyacinths, asphodels and celandines, it is a popular weekend resort, dotted with delightful villas and innumerable picnic spots. Goddess Durga temple is worth seeing From here, a track leads down to Sipur, which is an exquisite glade shaded by ancient deodar trees. A fair is held here every April/May. About 3 km from Mashobra is the lovely resort of Craignano.

Adventure & Trekking in Beautiful Shimla
There are very few places in the world as richly endowed as Himachal Pradesh with its geographical diversity. Shimla is situated in the Shivalik range of Himalayas with combination of low lying hills to gigantic mountains. Shimla district is full of thickly populated pine trees and small rivulets, rivers in deep gorges and placid mountains lakes, mountain sides draped in snow, and green alpine meadows, all form a part of this immense spectrum. And the possibilities for a wide range of adventure activities are enormous. There are day-hikes by the thousand, and trek routes follow trails that last couple of days or can even extend over few weeks. These vary from gentle walks over easy terrain, to grueling expeditions. There is skiing, heliskiing and ice-skating. There is the thrill of paragliding and the test of stamina with mountain-cycling. You can go camping and fishing and play golf or take a safari by car, jeep or on motorcycle. All you have to do is make up your mind and select your own activity. And then, all this comes at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere in the world.
Golf in Beautiful Shimla
At Naldera, 23 km. from beyond Shimla is one of the oldest golf courses in India. The course, whose topography is absolutely natural, was originally placed by the British Viceroy of India, Golf Lord Curzon, at the turn of the centaury. He was so enchanted by the spot that he named one of his daughters 'Naldera' after the spot. This is a par 68, nine hole course which is regarded as one of the most challenging in the country. Ice Skating - The world's Largest Natural Frozen Ice Rink
The Shimla ice-skating rink has the largest open-air area with naturally frozen ice in this part of the world. The Ice Skating Club has already celebrated its Diamond Jubilee.
Ice-skating normally begins in early December and carries on to February. Clear skies and low Ice Skating, Shimla temperatures provide series of uninterrupted sessions. There are two sessions every day, in the morning and in the evening depending upon the frozen ice on the ground. The hanging balloon on the Municipal Building adjacent to scandal point works as signal, whether the skating is going to held on that day or not.
Membership is available for the season as well as for shorter terms and even for single sessions. Skates are available at the rink.

About Scandal point in Shimla & Visit to Scandal Point
History of Shimla cannot be completed without mentioning the name of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. The maharajah Bhupinder singh of Patiala was a frequent visitor to Shimla the summer capital of the Raj. It is rumored that, in shimla in 1892 he met an English girl there who eloped with him. This infuriated Lord Kitchener, the commander in cheif of Indian army based in shimla and Lord Kitchener completely banned Bhupinder Singh from entering Shimla. Maharajah shifted residence with his new found love to his palace at Chail, A near by hill station. The girl was probably the daughter of a high ranking British officer, though it is also rumored that she was relative of Lord Kitchener.
Scandal Point Shimla
A Famous point in Shimla Known as Scandal Point, This was the place, where the English girl and the maharajah used to meet. But actually in 1892 maharajah Bhupinder Singh was only 2 years old and could not have seduced anybody. But the tale has stuck to Bhupinder Singh because of his colorful nature.
Scandal Point, carries its legacy and reputation it carries today. People still love gathering at the Mall to gossip about who ran off with whom. And love affairs were quite scandalous” e.g the stories of the ‘grass-widows’, a label given to young, married women who spent time in Shimla when their husbands were away in the rest of the country. And of ‘fishing fleet’, young unmarried women who sailed out every year from Britain to find husbands.

Mystery regarding alf-stone-half-red brick building of Telegraph Office. now occupied by BSNL. This whimsical building in Shimla had Asia’s first automatic telephone exchange and a capacity for 2,000 lines. It is an earthquake-proof, majestic structure, made of Ashlar-worked stone. You could see that the stone is finely cut, to a size that was pre-decided. However, in 1922, money was scarce and that is what forced the architect, John Begg, to continue building the top half structure in red brick.
