After arrival at Mumbai/ Pune airport or railway station and you will proceed to Matheran which is 80 km from Mumbai / 124 km from Pune. Upon arrival Dasturi Naka you will take a toy train from Neral and visit Matheran, after reach check in to hotel and rest for some hour. Matheran is situated at a distance of 125 km from Pune which is well connected to Pune by road and take 2 hours to reach Matheran. One must note that you cannot drive all the way to the top of Matheran Hills. You will have to park your vehicles at Dasturi Car Parking Point. From here, you can walk to Aman Lodge station and hop onto the toy train.

Best time to visit Matheran Maharashtra
