St. John Church: This peaceful church is built amid the picturesque valley of Mcleodganj and is located about 8 kms away from Dharamshala. The church lies in a dense jungle between Mcleodganj and Forsythganj and is a monument dedicated to Lord Elgin, one of the viceroys of India, who died at Chauntra (Mandi district) and was buried here in 1863 A.D. This classic church, which has a Christian cemetery surrounding it, has lovely glass windows and boost amazing architectural design. It is ideally situated in the majestic 'Deodar' forest in the wilderness.

Visit Cricket Stadium: The famous tourist spot in Dharamshala is Cricket Stadium. Cricket Stadium (DCS), an internationally renowned stadium, is the home ground of Himachal Pradesh State cricket team. Few international and Ranji cricket matches are held here on annual basis

Dalai Lama: The one of the holy place in Dharamshala is Dalai Lama Temple. The temple complex is kept open from sunrise to sunset for the visitors to explore the peaceful ambiance of the surroundings. Solang Valley: Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purpose. Located here is a hut and guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is organized in Solang Valley. Skiing and Paragliding are two main activities are organized here. Apart from this many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc.

Rahalla Falls:  Rahalla Falls is located at a height of 3980 m, 51 kms from Manali. The Pass once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The Pass is open from June to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Just beyond the Pass are the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas River, a holy site for Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also accessible from the Rohtang Pass.

Jagatsukh Temple:  Jagatsukh, which is 6 km from Manali, in Himachal Pradesh. Built around the beginning 8th millennium, it has a tri-ratha sanctum covered by a Shikhara (a pyramid-shaped elegant structure located at the entry of temples). The temple is of identical structure as that of the number of wats or temples. Jagatsukh is on the remaining financial institution of the Beas and the street from Nagar to Manali operates through the town. Jagatsukh is 12km from Naggar and 6km from Manali. Vasisht Temple: Vashist, a small village 3 kms from Manali located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali towards Rohtang pass is worth a visit, which is renowned for its Hot Water Springs and Temple. The village is also the site of some old temples, dedicated to the great sage Vashisht, and to Lord Rama. The Himachal Tourism sulphur baths are just beyond these shrines. Natural Hot Sulphur water Springs with two separate bathing tanks for Gents and Ladies, which are always full of tourists. Turkish Style Showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby spring is provided for bathing.

Places to visit in Dalhousie in may

Dainkund: The famous place in Dalhousie is Dainkund. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the hills, with the rivers Ravi, Beas and chenab threading through the distance. A Devi Temple is also situated on the hill.

Panchpula: Panchpula is almost 3 km. there is a very beautiful monument erected at panchpula where several streams meet at one point. That is Samadhi monument was built in memory of great Sardar  Ajit Singh.

Satdhara Falls: Satdhara Falls are one of the most popular sightseeing attractions of Dalhousie. Perched at an altitude of 2036 metres above the sea level,the water in these springs, as it comprises of mica, known as 'Gandhak' in local language. The mica has several medicinal properties, which helps in curing many diseases and ailments. In addition, tourists visiting the place can enjoy the natural beauty of the place.

Bakrota Hills: This is the highest area in Dalhousie and is circled by a road called Bakrota. The area is surrounded with deodar trees and hills all around. This place is ideal for strolls and to look around and enjoy the sceneries.

Attractions of Khijjar

Khajjiar lake: Khajjiar Lake is located in Khajjiar in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at a height of around 1,920 m above sea level between Dalhousie and Chamba Town. The lake takes its name from Khajji Nag  and it is located in a huge grassy landscape, with evergreen cedar trees surrounding it from all sides.

Kalatop wildlife sanctuary: The Kalatop Wildlife landscapes are thickly covered with Deodar trees interspersed with little streams flowing into the Ravi river. This Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Leopard, bear, deer, langur, jackal, Himalayan Black Marten, Barking Goral and countless beautiful birds can be spotted here.The area is a favorite spot for trekking, picnics, and nature walks.

Places to visit in chamba

Tehri lake: Tehri lake is just 20 minutes drive from Chamba at the meeting point of rivers Bhagirathi and Bhilangana. It hailed as the world's fifth largest lake.

Surkanda Devi Temple: This attractive temple is located from 22 km off Chamba at 2757 m above sea level is a Shaktipeeth temple believed to be consecrated where a body part of Goddess Sati landed. An annual Ganga Dussera festival is held here between May and June.

How to Reach Chandigarh

By road: Chandigarh has excellent road connectivity with other neighboring cities. Many direct buses are available from cities like Shimla, Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, Delhi, Kullu etc. The National Highway 1 connects Chandigarh with Delhi, which takes around 4 to 5 hours.

Manali Rohtang pass snow point
