St Francis Church

8.30 am: Reach Kodanad and visit the Elephant Kraal. Kodanad is a beautiful rural riverside village. Elephant rescue and care centre for central and southern forest region of Kerala. Tourists informally gets a chance to experience the bathing of baby elephants under the supervision of its Mahouts. At the park, the old kraal is maintained to house elephants, which is a structure made of wood compartments that can accommodate up to 4 elephants.
10.00 am: Continue your journey to Vaikom backwater village
11.30 am: Arrival at the village. On arrival walk through the village and see the activities at the village like coir making, see some spice plantations and then enter in to the boat for backwater cruise.
