Day 01: Arrive Cochin
Early morning arrive at Cochin International Airport. On arrival, meeting, assistance at airport by Holiday Travel representative and transfer to hotel. Day 02: Cochin City Site Seeing Tour

St Francis Church: Next proceed to St Francis Church, This church was built by the Portuguese in the year 1503 A.D. It is said that Portuguese explorer Vasco-da-Gama was originally buried here and his remains were later brought to Lisbon.
Santa Cruz Basilica: Built by the Portuguese around 500 years back, the Santa Cruz Basilica is known for its Gothic exterior with soaring spires. Also visit Chinese fishing net and tour of the Jew town. Evening visit to watch traditional Kerala Kathakali dances.

At 12.30 PM, board a Kettuvallam (houseboat) and proceed for an unforgettable overnight cruise, through the mesmerizing unique backwaters of Kerala.

After breakfast depart for Periyar (Thekkady). Morning drive through the Western Ghats to Thekkady, a beautiful area of tea gardens, rubber estates and coffee and pepper plantations, located high in the Cardamom Hills.
About Periyar Wildlife Reserve
Thekkady is also famous for Periyar wildlife reserve, This wildlife sanctuary is an established tourist spot and home to elephants, tiger, bison, sambar, wild boar, langur etc. The artificial lake formed by the
Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar Lake adds to the charm of the park. Spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a declared Tiger Reserve.
Spice Gardens of Thekkady
A walk through the plantation opens up a vista of pristine greenery shrouded by low hanging clouds, gurgling brooks and a pale shadow of the Western Ghats in the backdrop. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide you will be taken on tour of the cover, cardamom, pepper, rubber, vanilla, coffee and tea plantations. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper, but you will also see a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation.

Day 7 - Thekkady Site Seeing Tour
Periyar Wildlife Boating - 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM
Early morning (6 AM),proceed to the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary for boating. Nestled at an altitude with temperatures ranging from 15 to 30 degree Celsius, the park skirts a serene artificial lake, the Periyar Lake.
The most sought after way of wildlife viewing is a steamer cruise on the Periyar Lake past protruding bare tree limbs, while looking out for elephant herds by the water’s edge, sambhars peeking from a thicket, wild boars running amok.
Also you see the Tribals catching fish on the edges and collecting wild Mushrooms or Herbal Plants.
If you are really lucky, you could spot the Great Indian Tiger in a clearing of the forest. Always keep your binoculars and Camera handy, you could spot a blue-winged parakeet or a solitary kingfisher perched on an ancient tree limb jutting out of the lake. Of birds, you stand a chance of spotting Nilgiri wood pigeon, white-bellied tree pie, laughing thrushes and flycatchers to name a few.
After the Boat Trip, Relax an enjoy the hot tea served by the restuarant at main reception.
After Boating in Periyar
Once boating is finished, leave the Tiger Reserve; Plenty of activities awaits you at Thekkady. Before going for Cultural shows in the evening, you can go for Jeep Safari Tour or opt for an elephant ride, give elephant bath or even get an elephant shower which is quite thrilling!
Lower camp Jeep Tour (5km from kumily)
One of the activity, we can do is to visit the Lower Camp area and visist the plantations of vegetables and Grapes. Enroute desent to the Lower Camp, we see high pipes laid across the hill and Water from the Kerala dam is taken through these huge pipes for irrigation and generation of power for Tamilnadu. This area also offers a picturesque view of Tamil Nadu. Once you reach lower camp area, visit and sample the Grapes at vineyard, and see exotic Indian vegetables farming. Also see, how the water from the lake is diverted to the hydro electric project at lower camp(Tamil Nadu)to generate the electricity.Visit to the view point will take 2 hrs time.
Kathakali & Kalaripayattu at Cultural Centre in Thekkady
The traditional dance of Kerala, Kathakali is conducted everyday (only during season)and can be seen at the Kathakali centre at city centre. You can also See Kalaripaytattu,the traditional martial arts of Kerala.
Mullaperiyar Dam Jeep Tour
Periyar lake is formed by the Mullaperyiar dam, hich was built by British in 1895. It stands on Periyar river whose flow originates from Thekkady. The dam was built mainly for watering the paddy fields of Tamil Nadu perennially drought - prone. The dam is 175 feet tall in height and is 5704 feet long.
Trekking in Periyar Forest
Forest Department offers 3 hours trek inside the forest with a well trained staff of the forest department.The staff who takes you inside are mostly Tribals, You need to put on the leech proof socks and full body clothings before venturing in forest. You cross the Periyar lake in Bamboo shaft boat and start the Trekking into the Buffer Zone. It is an interesting activuty.

Jungle Patrol – Shepherding the jungle
This programme is part of the regular night patrolling in the fringe eco-development zones of the tiger reserve. By participating in this, one is actually helping in the protection of the forests of Periyar. The trekking could be at any time between 7 p.m and 4 am. and could be taken by persons having proper physical and mental fitness to trek through the wilderness in the night. The maximum duration for a slot is 3 hours and maximum capacity of one slot is limited to 8 visitors (to move in two separate teams). They will accompany two protection watchers and one armed forest guard! Try the limits of your senses-sight, hearing and smell and take in the totally different world of nocturnal jungle life.

Bamboo Rafting – Dawn to dusk - Watching Wild from Close Quarters
Bamboo rafting in thekkady is a dawn to dusk hiking and rafting programme through some of the richest forest tracts of Periyar Tiger Reserve, It is hugely popular among the Things to do in Thekkady. Program Starts at 8 am from the boat landing point, You travel on rafts made of bamboos. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest – clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists. Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served en route.

Day 7 - Thekkady to Munnar ( 140 kms - 3.5 hours)
Arrival at cochin airport and transfer to Munnar, which is called as “Nature Lover’s Paradise” and is at 1800mts above the sea level. On the way to Munnar visit Cheyyappara water falls.Surrounded by lush green-carpeted tea and coffee plantations, Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala. The town is located at the confluence of three mountain streams — Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kudala—and is known for its clean, neat, and brightly painted ambience.
The beautiful landscapes, cozy weather, and the smell of tealeaves make Munnar one of the most sought-after destinations in South India. Precisely these were the reason why the British always retreated to Munnar when the heat and humidity was on its peak in other parts of Kerala. Munnar is situated near the Anaimudi Peak, the highest peak in the Western Ghats. The hills here are covered with a carpet of flowers in bloom. Also found here is an exotic plant called Neelakurunji that flowers just once in a 12 year period.

After breakfast proceed for Munnar sightseeing. Visit Eravikulam National Park in the morning. In the afternoon visit Mattupetty Dam/Kundala dam for boating, Eco point, tata tea museum.

Day 8 Back to Kochi - Via Athirappilley
After breakfast, We will start back journey to Kochi and visit many waterfalls on return route, The main attraction while on return journey is to Visit Mega Athirappilley water fall made famous by 2016 movie Bahubali and Ra One.
Reach Athirapilley by 4 PM and watch the majestic waterfall from the top and have photo sessions, then trek to the bottom of the fall and enjoy the mega waterfall. Spend one hour at the site.
In the evening, Start tour to Kochi and dropped at Kochi airport on time for return journey.

Day 01: Arrive Cochin – Enjoy KATHAKALI DANCE
Early morning arrive at Cochin International Airport. On arrival, meeting, assistance at airport by Holiday Travel representative and transfer to hotel. Day 02: Cochin City Site Seeing
Cochin is the financial capital and the most cosmopolitan city of Kerala. we visit - The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry (10 AM - 5 PM, Closed on Fridays and national holidays), renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The Jewish Synagogue(10 AM – 12 PM and 3 PM – 5 PM. Closed on Saturdays and Jewish Holidays.) at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Santa Cruz Basilica originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. The Chinese fishing nets are huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by Chinese trade.
Fort Kochi is inhabited by Anglo-Indian community. The whole of the region presents a different aura and ambience. The culture is quite unique and represents the Eurasian culture.
St Francis Church: This church was built by the Portuguese in the year 1503 A.D. It is said that Portuguese explorer Vasco-da-Gama was originally buried here and his remains were later brought to Lisbon.
Santa Cruz Basilica: Built by the Portuguese around 500 years back, the Santa Cruz Basilica is known for its Gothic exterior with soaring spires. Also visit Chinese fishing net and tour of the Jew town. Evening visit to watch traditional Kerala Kathakali dances. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Cochin - Visit Synagogue and Chabad
Morning Prayer in the synagogue and program in Chabad. In the afternoon one can walk around fort cochin. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Cochin - Periyar National Park (191 kms / 4.5hrs)
After breakfast depart for Periyar (Thekkady). Morning drive through the Western Ghats to Thekkady, a beautiful area of tea gardens, rubber estates and coffee and pepper plantations, located high in the Cardamom Hills. This wildlife sanctuary is an established tourist spot and home to elephants, tiger, bison, sambar, wild boar, langur etc. The artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar Lake adds to the charm of the park. Spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a declared Tiger Reserve.
After check in at Hotel, go for a spice plantation visit.
A walk through the plantation opens up a vista of pristine greenery shrouded by low hanging clouds, gurgling brooks and a pale shadow of the Western Ghats in the backdrop. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide you will be taken on tour of the cover, cardamom, pepper, rubber, vanilla, coffee and tea plantations. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper, but you will also see a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation.

Day 06: Periyar National Park – Kumarakom (185kms / 4hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a confluence of beautiful small islands and is characterized by marvelous backwaters, vast paddy fields, mangrove forests, coconut groves etc. On arrival, check in at hotel. After wash and change at hotel visit some famous places, Spice plantation and Lake. In the evening one can enjoy sunset cruise on Vembanad Lake (Optional).
Kumarakom is a charming emerald peninsula jutting into the ever-effervescent Vembanad Lake. It will take you into the heart of the scenic lake where you will come across plenty of traditional country barges, boats, and canoes. The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals, and waterways. This backwater is a haven for countless varieties of species of both fauna and flora.

Day 01: Arrive Cochin

Day 02: Cochin City Site Seeing Tour
Fort Cochin Tour with Chinese Fishing nets - Start the Cochin tour with Fort Cochin Heritage Area and walk in the lanes of the heritage area, Reach The Cornish area and see the Chinese Fishing Nets, These days as of year 2016, these chinese fishing nets are not in action and are only for the photo opportunity
St Francis Church: Next proceed to St Francis Church, This church was built by the Portuguese in the year 1503 A.D. It is said that Portuguese explorer Vasco-da-Gama was originally buried here and his remains were later brought to Lisbon.
Santa Cruz Basilica: Built by the Portuguese around 500 years back, the Santa Cruz Basilica is known for its Gothic exterior with soaring spires. Also visit Chinese fishing net and tour of the Jew town. Evening visit to watch traditional Kerala Kathakali dances.
Next we visit, The Jewish Synagogue(10 AM – 12 PM and 3 PM – 5 PM. Closed on Saturdays and Jewish Holidays.) at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Santa Cruz Basilica originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. The Chinese fishing nets are huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by Chinese trade.

Cheraman Juma Masjid the first mosque of India.This mosque is located in Methala village of Kodungalloor just 50 minutes drive from Cochin airport.Built in 629 AD, this is the first mosque in India and the second in the world where Juma prayers were started. People from far and near irrespective of caste and creed visit this holy place.This mosque is unique. Mosques all over the world face the direction of Mecca, but this particular one faces east.
The building until recently was predominantly made of wood. The mosque eroded owing to adverse climatic conditions and had to be partly rebuilt, though the wooden interiors are still intact.
Day 3 :- Kochi to KUMARAKOM - Checkinto Coconut Lagoon [50 Kms. / 1.5 hours]

After Breakfast, check out from kumarakom and proceed to the Jetty to drive to Alappuzha by road, Reach the house boat point ( under the bridge) at 12:00 afternoon and welcome by River escapes House boat centre. Welcome with cold towels, the crew will explain you the houseboat and the route.
At 12.30 PM, board a Kettuvallam (houseboat) and proceed for an unforgettable overnight cruise, through the mesmerizing unique backwaters of Kerala.
You will have an exclusive houseboat which cruises till sunset, and then it anchors for the night. Your boat has a private deck and balcony(if you take 2 storey boat) with comfortable chairs. After breakfast depart for Periyar (Thekkady). Morning drive through the Western Ghats to Thekkady, a beautiful area of tea gardens, rubber estates and coffee and pepper plantations, located high in the Cardamom Hills.
About Periyar Wildlife Reserve
Thekkady is also famous for Periyar wildlife reserve, This wildlife sanctuary is an established tourist spot and home to elephants, tiger, bison, sambar, wild boar, langur etc. The artificial lake formed by the
Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar Lake adds to the charm of the park. Spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a declared Tiger Reserve.
Spice Gardens of Thekkady
A walk through the plantation opens up a vista of pristine greenery shrouded by low hanging clouds, gurgling brooks and a pale shadow of the Western Ghats in the backdrop. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide you will be taken on tour of the cover, cardamom, pepper, rubber, vanilla, coffee and tea plantations. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper, but you will also see a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation.

Day 7 - Thekkady Site Seeing Tour
Periyar Wildlife Boating - 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM
Early morning (6 AM),proceed to the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary for boating. Nestled at an altitude with temperatures ranging from 15 to 30 degree Celsius, the park skirts a serene artificial lake, the Periyar Lake.
The most sought after way of wildlife viewing is a steamer cruise on the Periyar Lake past protruding bare tree limbs, while looking out for elephant herds by the water’s edge, sambhars peeking from a thicket, wild boars running amok.
Also you see the Tribals catching fish on the edges and collecting wild Mushrooms or Herbal Plants.
If you are really lucky, you could spot the Great Indian Tiger in a clearing of the forest. Always keep your binoculars and Camera handy, you could spot a blue-winged parakeet or a solitary kingfisher perched on an ancient tree limb jutting out of the lake. Of birds, you stand a chance of spotting Nilgiri wood pigeon, white-bellied tree pie, laughing thrushes and flycatchers to name a few.

Once boating is finished, leave the Tiger Reserve; Plenty of activities awaits you at Thekkady. Before going for Cultural shows in the evening, you can go for Jeep Safari Tour or opt for an elephant ride, give elephant bath or even get an elephant shower which is quite thrilling!
Lower camp Jeep Tour (5km from kumily)
One of the activity, we can do is to visit the Lower Camp area and visist the plantations of vegetables and Grapes. Enroute desent to the Lower Camp, we see high pipes laid across the hill and Water from the Kerala dam is taken through these huge pipes for irrigation and generation of power for Tamilnadu. This area also offers a picturesque view of Tamil Nadu. Once you reach lower camp area, visit and sample the Grapes at vineyard, and see exotic Indian vegetables farming. Also see, how the water from the lake is diverted to the hydro electric project at lower camp(Tamil Nadu)to generate the electricity.Visit to the view point will take 2 hrs time.

Mullaperiyar Dam Jeep Tour
Periyar lake is formed by the Mullaperyiar dam, hich was built by British in 1895. It stands on Periyar river whose flow originates from Thekkady. The dam was built mainly for watering the paddy fields of Tamil Nadu perennially drought - prone. The dam is 175 feet tall in height and is 5704 feet long.
Trekking in Periyar Forest
Forest Department offers 3 hours trek inside the forest with a well trained staff of the forest department.The staff who takes you inside are mostly Tribals, You need to put on the leech proof socks and full body clothings before venturing in forest. You cross the Periyar lake in Bamboo shaft boat and start the Trekking into the Buffer Zone. It is an interesting activuty.

Jungle Patrol – Shepherding the jungle
This programme is part of the regular night patrolling in the fringe eco-development zones of the tiger reserve. By participating in this, one is actually helping in the protection of the forests of Periyar. The trekking could be at any time between 7 p.m and 4 am. and could be taken by persons having proper physical and mental fitness to trek through the wilderness in the night. The maximum duration for a slot is 3 hours and maximum capacity of one slot is limited to 8 visitors (to move in two separate teams). They will accompany two protection watchers and one armed forest guard! Try the limits of your senses-sight, hearing and smell and take in the totally different world of nocturnal jungle life.

Bamboo Rafting – Dawn to dusk - Watching Wild from Close Quarters
Bamboo rafting in thekkady is a dawn to dusk hiking and rafting programme through some of the richest forest tracts of Periyar Tiger Reserve, It is hugely popular among the Things to do in Thekkady. Program Starts at 8 am from the boat landing point, You travel on rafts made of bamboos. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest – clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists. Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served en route.

Day 7 - Thekkady to Munnar ( 140 kms - 3.5 hours)
Arrival at cochin airport and transfer to Munnar, which is called as “Nature Lover’s Paradise” and is at 1800mts above the sea level. On the way to Munnar visit Cheyyappara water falls.Surrounded by lush green-carpeted tea and coffee plantations, Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala. The town is located at the confluence of three mountain streams — Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kudala—and is known for its clean, neat, and brightly painted ambience.
The beautiful landscapes, cozy weather, and the smell of tealeaves make Munnar one of the most sought-after destinations in South India. Precisely these were the reason why the British always retreated to Munnar when the heat and humidity was on its peak in other parts of Kerala. Munnar is situated near the Anaimudi Peak, the highest peak in the Western Ghats. The hills here are covered with a carpet of flowers in bloom. Also found here is an exotic plant called Neelakurunji that flowers just once in a 12 year period.

Day 8 Munnar Site Seeing
After breakfast proceed for Munnar sightseeing. Visit Eravikulam National Park in the morning. In the afternoon visit Mattupetty Dam/Kundala dam for boating, Eco point, tata tea museum.

Day 8 Back to Kochi - Via Athirappilley
After breakfast, We will start back journey to Kochi and visit many waterfalls on return route, The main attraction while on return journey is to Visit Mega Athirappilley water fall made famous by 2016 movie Bahubali and Ra One.
Reach Athirapilley by 4 PM and watch the majestic waterfall from the top and have photo sessions, then trek to the bottom of the fall and enjoy the mega waterfall. Spend one hour at the site.
In the evening, Start tour to Kochi and dropped at Kochi airport on time for return journey.

Day 6 - Alleppey - Trivandrum /Kovalam.(175-3.5 hours)
Morning, drive to Trivandrum City for a short sight seeing around the city. This includes visit to the Napier Museum, Sri Chithira Art Gallery, Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple premises and Kuthiramalika Museum. Over night stay in the Hotel at Kovalam.
After breakfast, disembark the houseboat and drive to Trivandrum.On your way visit Mannarssala Temple - Worshippers of the Naga (Serpent God) have always built their temples in groves where serpents are aplenty. Mannarassala is the largest serpent temple with 30,000 images of serpent Gods and has hundreds of snakes living around the temple.
Proceed towards Trivandrum, and upon reaching go for a sightseeing tour of the capital city of Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram has interesting places to see like, the Napier Museum , a beautiful building build by English architect Chrisholm combining English-Saxon-Travancore architectural styles carvings.(Open 10AM-5PM, closed on Mondays and before noon Wednesday.), the Sri Chitra Art Gallery (Open 10AM-5PM, closed on Mondays and before noon Wednesday.) - displays a rare collection of mainly Indian paintings, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple (from outside only) – this temple is an architectural wonder and the icon around which the the city is built, and Horse palace - unique palace designed by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal famous for its horse shaped windows and décor, has some good collections of antiques.
Later, proceed to Kovalam, the world famous beach destination of kerala. With three adjacent crescent beaches, Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourists,especially Europeans, since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse - sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes, Catamaran cruising etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a
matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night.

Day - 8 Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Kovalam (100 kms - 3 hours one way - Day Trip)
Kanyakumari is the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula and the meeting point of three seas, namely Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. En route you should never miss the Padmanabhapuram Palace, the largest wooden palace in the World and the magnificent Sucheendram Temple, where the Trinities are worshiped. At Kanyakumari you can visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Kanyakumari Devi Temple.
After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion of Kanyakumari & Sucheendram temple.Just off the Nagerkoil-Kanyakumari highway lies an architectural treasure, Padmanabhapuram Palace made entirely of wood. A Kerala architectural masterpiece with exquisite murals, granite sculptures and wood carvings.
