Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai/Delhi or Directly at Manglore
Late evening arrival at the Mumbai airport or Delhi. Catch a connecting flight or train to Manglore. Evening at your Leisure and Night stay in Manglore Hotel.
Day 2: Manglore to Bekal (50 kms)
After Breakfast drive to Bekal.
Enjoy the scenic ride and Check- in at the hotel.
In the evening, explore Bekal Fort, the largest and a well-maintained fort in Kerala that is situated along the Arabian Sea. Visit the underground tunnels and the Observation.
Overnight stay in Bekal.
Day 3: Bekal – Wayanad (225 kms)
After Breakfast, Proceed to Wayanad. Check into the Hotel, After relaxation, In the afternoon,proceed towards Vythiri for visiting Lakkidi, located at an altitude of 700 m, it is the gateway to Wayanad and is one of the highest points at Wayanad as well. Enjoy the sight of the peaks, the water streams and the forests. Also Visit the Pookot lake, surrounded by lush forests. Enjoy boating, visit the Children’s Park and the fresh water aquarium.

Day 4: Wayanad Site Seeing
After breakfast, either go for trekking or explore the wildlife at the Wayanad wildlife Sanctuary. Also visit the Sentinal Rock Waterfalls in Soochippara, a special three-step waterfall at a height of 200 mts. Also visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum, which has a collection of various artifacts of the region.

Day 5: Wayanad to Calicut (75 kms)
After breakfast, drive towards Kozhikhode (Calicut). On arrival, check in hotel. Afternoon, proceed for a half-day sightseeing covering Mananchira, Marine Life Aquarium, the jetties at Kozhikhode beach. Last visit of the day will be Kappad, the very place from which Vasco da Gama entered India.

Day 6: Calicut – Cochin (225 kms)
After breakfast, Proceed for Cochin (Kochi) by road. On arrival, check-in at your hotel. In the evening, you can simply relax or can visit the popular markets for shopping.

Day 7: Kochi half day city tour and proceed to Thekkady (185 kms)
Post breakfast, proceed for city tour, covering Kochi Fort, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis' Church, Dutch palace and the Jewish Synagogue.

Day 8: Thekkady Boat Ride Periyar Lake

Day 9: Thekkady – Kumarakom (125 kms)

Neelimala Trek and Meenmutty waterfalls ( One Day)
Located in the southeastern part of Wayanad, and approachable from Kalpetta as well as Sulthan Bathery, Neelimala is a trekkers delight, with options for different trekking routes. At the top of Neelimala, the sight is a breathtaking one with a view to the Meenmutty falls located near by and the valley in the foreground.
Meenmutty waterfalls
Located close to Neelimala the spectacular Meenmutty falls can be reached through a 2 km trekking route from the main road connecting Ootty and Wayanad. It is the largest of waterfalls in the district of Wayanad, and adds to ones curiosity with its three stage falls dropping from about 300 metres.
Chethalayam waterfalls
Located close to Sulthan Bathery in the northern part of Wayanad. This waterfall is smaller in size when compared to Meenmutty. The falls and the adjoining areas are ideal locales for trekking and a haunt for bird watchers.
Pakshipathalam caves Tour
Pakshipathalam is located deep within the forest in the Brahmagiri hills at an altitude of more than 1700 metres. The region predominantly comprises large boulders, some of them really massive. The deep caves found here are home to a wide variety of birds, animals and distinctive species of plants. Pakshipathalam is located near Mananthavady and a visit to the region would require a 7 km trek through the forest, starting from Thirunelli. Bekal - Fort, beach and Water Park Tour
Bekal is the prime tourist spot of Kasaragod, the stunning Bekal fort running till the beach and stunning views.
Uniqueness of Bekal Fort
Bekal fort is a 300 year old key-hole shaped unique structure, built with defensive strategy in mind. It is the largest fort in Kerala, well preserved and nowadays managed by Archeological Survey. The beach runs by the side of the fort. If you are looking to spend time on the beach, the beach strip of Bekal – Pallikkare is just a starting point. Further afield, there are more fine beaches.
Another place to spend some time playing in water is Bekal Hole Aqua Park. If you are on a North Kerala tour and looking for water parks, there are not many around. There is Vismaya in Kannur, near Parassinikkadavu temple. Then there is Bekal Hole Aqua Park, and that is all there is.
Bekal is 10 kms south of Kasaragod town. Kanhangad, the other regional town, is 14 kms from the fort.
It may take 2-3 hours just to walk around.Govt is developing Bekal as a major tourist area without impacting the ecology of the place & pristine environment.

Valiyaparamba backwaters Tour
Vast backwaters, scenic shores and green islands – Valiaparamba is the future of North Kerala backwater tourism. Valiyaparamba is an island, about 10 kms south of Nileshwar. The island is about 23 kms long. The backwater also came to be known by the name of the island.
Madhur Temple Tour (8 kms from Kasaragod town)
Located by the side of a small river, Madhuvahini, the temple is attractive for its distinct architectural style. On a side view, the three tiered dome appears elliptical. The tiled lower roof blends well with the upper roofs, which are made of copper.The inner walls of the temple have paintings from Ramayana, the ancient epic of India. Please bear in mind that this is a place of worship and entry inside the temple is restricted to Hindus only. Visitors are permitted in areas other than the sanctum.
Madhur temple is one of the most important places of worship in Kasaragod district. The principal deity is Srimad Anantheswara (Lord Siva). So it is called Srimad Anantheswara Vinayaka temple.However, the more potent deity here is Ganapathy (Ganesh).
Poojas (worship rituals) are performed thrice daily - at 8:00 A.M, 12:30 P.M and 8:00 P.M.
Kottancheri hills Tour
Kottancheri (kottanchery), the chill out hill, has some forests, grass lands and plantations. You could walk along the slopes with the goal of watching some wildlife. Birds and butterflies are easy find. Deer and boar can be seen in some areas. There is also the prospect of elephant and other wildlife sightings since Kottancheri is an extension of the animal rich Ranipuram forests.
Overnight stay is not possible and that makes Kottanchery a picnic or day tour destination.
Kottanchery is a part of Konnakkad, which is about 66 kms from Kasargod town and 48 kms from Kanhangad.
Ranipuram hill station Tour
If kottancherri disappoints you for the lack over overnight stay, the spot light should be on Ranipuram, where a tourist cottages are available.
Ranipuram has landscapes similar to Kottancherry. The jungle that continues to Karnataka is rich in wildlife. Elephant, leopard, boar, types of deer, civet cat, rare squirrels, different species of monkeys and a rich population of other animals, birds and butterflies are found here.
Government is looking at the prospect of declaring Ranipuram forest as a wildlike sanctuary. The Karnataka part of the same forest is already a protected reserve - Thalakavery wild life sanctuary.
Ranipuram is a group of hills near the small town of Pananthady. The distance from Kasaragod town is about 85 kms. Kanhangad is about 48 kms from here.
Chandragiri fort Tour
Just 3 kms south of Kasaragod, the fort is easy to reach. The fort was built in the 17th century. Similar to Bekal fort, it is also a defensive bastion built by laterite bricks.The fort is built on a hillock near Chandragiri River bank. The river curves in front of the fort, only to meet the sea soon after. Yes, the sight is pretty from the top.Chandragiri boat ride is another to do list item. The boat club offers rides to tourists. Chandragiri Bridge is the starting point of the rides.
Ananthapura Lake Temple ( 45 kms) Tour
Set in the middle of a 2 acre pool, it is one and only lake temple in Kerala. A crocodile named Babia lives in the pool. A vegetarian crocodile! He survives on the food given to him by the temple!
On the north east corner of the pool, there is a cave.
It is a Vishnu temple. It is one of the two two Anantha Padmanabha Temples in Kerala. The other one is the famed Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Trivandrum. It is believed that Ananthaa Padmanabha Swamy (Lord Vishnu) settled at Ananthapura Lake Temple originally. Hence the temple is called a moolasthanam (original seat) of the Lord.
The Temple timings are: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 5:30 - 8:00 PM.
The temple is about 45 kms from Kasaragod town.
Kanwatheertha beach Tour
Kanwatheertha beach is a well liked coastal spot mainly because there is a lake like pool cut of from the sea. This pool, about half a km long, is great for swimming for adults and even kids.
One of the fine beaches in the region, Kanwatheertha is about 4 kms.

Kanwatheertha is only 3 kms from Manjeshwar, one of the regional towns. Kasaragod town is 15 kms to the south.

Kerala off the Beaten Trek - Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai/Delhi or Directly at Manglore
Late evening arrival at the Mumbai airport or Delhi. Catch a connecting flight or train to Manglore. Evening at your Leisure and Night stay in Manglore Hotel.
Day 2: Manglore to Bekal (50 kms)
After Breakfast drive to Bekal.
Enjoy the scenic ride and Check- in at the hotel.
In the evening, explore Bekal Fort, the largest and a well-maintained fort in Kerala that is situated along the Arabian Sea. Visit the underground tunnels and the Observation.
Overnight stay in Bekal.
Day 3: Bekal – Wayanad (225 kms)
After Breakfast, Proceed to Wayanad. Check into the Hotel, After relaxation, In the afternoon,proceed towards Vythiri for visiting Lakkidi, located at an altitude of 700 m, it is the gateway to Wayanad and is one of the highest points at Wayanad as well. Enjoy the sight of the peaks, the water streams and the forests. Also Visit the Pookot lake, surrounded by lush forests. Enjoy boating, visit the Children’s Park and the fresh water aquarium.
Overnight in Wayanad.
Day 4: Wayanad Site Seeing
After breakfast, either go for trekking or explore the wildlife at the Wayanad wildlife Sanctuary. Also visit the Sentinal Rock Waterfalls in Soochippara, a special three-step waterfall at a height of 200 mts. Also visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum, which has a collection of various artifacts of the region.

Day 5: Wayanad to Calicut (75 kms)
After breakfast, drive towards Kozhikhode (Calicut). On arrival, check in hotel. Afternoon, proceed for a half-day sightseeing covering Mananchira, Marine Life Aquarium, the jetties at Kozhikhode beach. Last visit of the day will be Kappad, the very place from which Vasco da Gama entered India.
Overnight in Calicut.
Day 6: Calicut – Cochin (225 kms)
After breakfast, Proceed for Cochin (Kochi) by road. On arrival, check-in at your hotel. In the evening, you can simply relax or can visit the popular markets for shopping.

Day 7: Kochi half day city tour and proceed to Thekkady (185 kms)
Post breakfast, proceed for city tour, covering Kochi Fort, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis' Church, Dutch palace and the Jewish Synagogue.
Later, drive towards Thekkady.
Reach Thekkady, Checkinto Hotel and Spend the evening in shopping at the handicraft and spice shops, starting from Kumily to Thekkady.
Stay overnight in Thekkady.
Day 8: Thekkady Boat Ride Periyar Lake
Enjoy an early morning boat ride on the Periyar Lake. Post breakfast, Visit Periyar Tiger Reserve to do activities like Nature Walk, Jungle Patrol, Bamboo Rafting, Border Hiking or a Bullock Cart ride.

Day 9: Thekkady – Kumarakom (125 kms)
After Breakfast, drive towards Kumarakom. After reaching, check into a backwater resort. Enjoy the surrounding beauty or explore the surroundings on foot. Spend the day at leisure.

Day 10: Kumarakom (Houseboat) Trip
Post breakfast. Drive to embarkation point to board your private Kettuvalloms, traditional name for backwater houseboat. Cruise along the scenic landscape, paddy fields, villages and the coconut groves.
Lunch and dinner will be served On-Board.

Day 11: Kumarkom – Kovalam (135 kms)
Have your breakfast at the resort and then drive towards Kovalam. On arrival, check into your pre-booked resort.

Day 12: Kovalam site seeing
After Breakfast, proceed on Kovlam site seeing tour of major attractions today such as the lighthouse, Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, Halcyon Castle etc, In the evening enjoy fun activities Kovalam- Samudra beach, Lighthouse beach and Hawah beach. Enjoy sunbathing, a leisure walk etc.

Day 13: Kovalam - Thiruvananthapuram (End of the Tour)
After having your breakfast, spend a relaxed day, laze on the beach or have an Ayurvedic massage.
