To visit the Thada you have to go through the rocky hills. This also lends a mystic aura to the whole visit. Do make sure to visit this architectural delight while on a tour to Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Sukh Mahal: Sukh Mahal or the Pleasure Palace Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur Rajasthan India Sukh Mahal ou le Palais des Plaisirs Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur Rajasthan Inde Sukh Mahal oder Vergnuegungspalast Fort Mehrangarh Jodhpur Rajasthan Indian.

Salim singh-ki-Haveli: The haveli has a distinct architecture. The roof has been constructed in the form of Peacock. The haveli is situated beside the hills near the Jaisalmer Fort. People claim that Salim Singh made two additional floors in order to make it as high as the fort but the Maharaja did not take this attempt in good spirit. He ordered the extra floors to be torn down. Nevertheless we do not find enough evidence to corroborate the story.

Exploring the vast barren beauty of the desert and crossing of huge shifting sand dunes is definitely worth putting on your list of ‘things to do before I die’. Osian is a very popular spot for desert safaris. One can also explore the various temple architecture on such trips. You also have a choice between day and night safaris.
Cuisine in Jodhpur: Jodhpur has a number of restaurants and eating-places. You can every cuisine in Jodhpur, ranging from Indian to Chinese to Continental to Mughlai cuisine.
Shri Mishrilal Hotel and Restaurant
Shri Mishrilal Hotel and Restaurant: It is famous for sweetmeats. You must try the Makhania lassi which is so thick you will be ‘eating it’ with a spoon. And then try the fantastic Rabri and the piping hot Samosas. We may as well warn you that the place is not much on ambience. Actually it is quite a ramshackle, with the pictures of great Indian heroes being the only decoration adorning its green walls, but you will hardly remember all that once you get lost in the sheer heavenly taste of the delectable milk and cream sweets available here. Another popular temple of sweets would be the Janta Sweets on the Nai Sadak. Apart from the sweets, don’t forget to try out their Mirchibadas.
Real Taste Restaurant: Real Taste Restaurant, as the name suggests, gives you a real traditional taste of Jodhpur. You get every cuisine here, ranging from Indian to Chinese to Continental to Mughlai cuisine. While there, do not forget to try the famous Kachouri (a snack eaten with chutney) and Pav Bhaji. Those with a sweet tooth should try laddoos, which simply melt in your mouth. And not to forget, do have a tall glass of buttermilk or 'lassi'.
Things to do in Jaisalmer
Shopping: A number of traditional Rajasthani handicrafts are available in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for embroidery, Rajasthani mirror work, rugs, blankets, antiques and old stonework. There are lots of shops but try to venture in government owned and operated ones. This will save you extra dollars that would have gone in the pockets of guides in the form of commission. If you want to buy fabrics such as Tie-dye and other fabrics, try the government operated Khadi Gramuddyog Bhavan. Shop for exquisitely carved wooden boxes in tiny curio shops. Traditional rugs, hand woven blankets and shawls in typical Rajasthani color and weave are also available.
Camel Safari: A Camel Safari is great fun, especially when combining riding and walking side by side with your camel at your own pace; this way you can enjoy both, relaxing riding and refreshing bone stretching. It is obvious that the longer you choose to go on your safari, the more remote places you will see and the more you may adjust to and enjoy the desert tranquility. Even for us it is difficult to describe the sunsets, the nights and the sunrises in the desert which you can experience only in areas this remote from any settlements ¬ you have to experience it in order to understand it.
Cuisine in Jaisalmer: The city of Jaisalmer has a rich cultural heritage, which is very well reflected in its rich cuisine. The western part of India has a distinct food culture of its own, which is so very different from the North Indian cuisines.
