Day 08: Agra Local Site Seeing - Taj Mahal Site Seeing with Agra Fort
Visit the Taj to witness its shifting facades at sunrise. After breakfast, we set out to explore the Agra Fort, the work of Akbar the Great, who built it over the course of eight years (1565-1573). The fort was successively occupied by Emperors Jahangir and Shah Jahan; the latter died here, imprisoned by his son, left to gaze at the Taj Mahal he had built.
After lunch we cross the Yamuna River to visit Itmad ud Daula. The mausoleum was built by Queen Nur Jahan in 1622 in memory of her father. It is a notable representation of the fine inlaid stonework and translucent marble. Many historians believe that this monument was Shah Jahan's inspiration for building the Taj and is often described as the "petite Taj." Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Jaipur Local Site Seeing
This morning we will drive a short distance outside of the city to Amber Fort and Palace. Perched on a hillside on the outskirts of town, the palace was constructed in the 1590s by Maharaja Man Singh, the commander of Akbar's army, and was largely motivated by the highly defensible location.

Day 12: Udaipur Local Site Seeing
We begin our day at the City Palace, overlooking the blue waters of Lake Pichola. Maharana Udai Singh initiated construction in 1559 A.D., and it was subsequently expanded, with impressive uniformity, by several succeeding Maharanas. The palace consists of a number of beautiful courtyards and gardens. The main hall has been converted into a museum, housing opulent artifacts and original works of art.
About Udaipur - The Most Romantic City in India & Venice of the East
Inside the complex we will find the exquisite crystal gallery, exhibiting 19th century pieces including crystal chandeliers, tables, sofas and beds. We will continue walking towards the Jagdish Temple to study its many remarkable friezes. Lavishly built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh, it is easy to understand why Jagdish is the most venerated Hindu temple in Udaipur.

Day 14 - Jaisalmer Local Site Seeing
The Jaisalmer Fort
The fort of Jaisalmer, which resembles a gigantic sandcastle, is home to several thousand people. Crowned over the Trikuta Hill, the golden yellow Jaisalmer Fort dates back to more than 800 years. The fort has many gates including Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol, Bhoot Pol and Hawa Pol. In addition to this, it also has a number of beautiful havelies and a group of Jain temples that make it a special place to explore.
Gadsisar Tank
The huge Gadsisar Tank was once the main source of water supply to the city. In winters, a variety of birds flock here and make the whole environment enchanting. The beautiful arched gateway across the road down to the tank adds to its attraction. A number of exquisite temples and tanks located around the lake add to its pristine beauty.
Manak Chowk
Manak Chowk has successfully retained its ancient charm since time immemorial. Various lanes with exquisitely carved havelis lead to the chowk that remains abuzz, most of the time, with various activities. Exploring the chowk is an experience in itself.
Bada Bag near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
Situated 6 kms north of Jaisalmer on way to Ramgarh is the Bada Bag. Royal cenotaphs with carved images of past Maharawals & their families are the highlights of the Bada Bagh. Each chhatris preserve inscribed tablet recording the death of Maharawals in which the memorials are raised. The chhatris have been built on a set-pattern but in different sizes. The beautiful spot jait bundh (Dame) & Lake after Maharawal Jait Singh was constructed in 1513 AD. Attached to bundh (Dame), on other side is garden of mangoes and other fruits.

Luderwa near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
16 km northwest of Jaisalmer, Luderwa is the ancient capital of Jaisalmer now a silent city, the only witness to its former splendour are the jain temple, toran (ornate arche) & artificial divine tree (Kalptaroo) are the main attraction here. Ruins of the deserted capital still remind the famous love legend of Moomal-Mahendra.
Amar-Sagar near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
6 km from Jaisalmer and on way to Luderwa the natural spot developed by Maharawal Amar Singh is a water reservoir. The dams were constructed to hold rainwater in 1688 AD. Several terraces are formed where summer palaces and temples are constructed and gardens developed. On the south of the lake stands the exquisitely carved Jain temple constructed by Himmat Ram Bafna, the descendant of famous patwas.
Mool-Sagar near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
Mool Sagar, 8 km from Jaisalmer on way to Sam Sand Dunes, is an another natural point. Mool Sagar consists of lake, Garden and summer palaces constructed by Maharawal Mool Raj in 18th Century. The fort has three exquisitely carved Jain temples dedicated to the Jain Tirthankara-Rishabdev, Sambhavnath and Parswanath.
Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
Two architect brothers took charge of the construction of this magnificent piece of architecture in the 19th century. Interestingly, while one concentrated on the right, the other concentrated on the left and the result is a symphony epitomizing the side by side symmetry during construction. Paintings in miniature style monopolize the walls in the interior. Mighty tuskers carved out of yellow sandstone stand guard to the haveli. Its facade is a riot of ornamentation: flowers, birds, elephants, soldiers, a bicycle and even a steam engine.
Salim Singh Ki Haveli of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
This haveli was built about 300 years ago by the scheming Prime Minister Salim Singh in 1815 and a part of it is still occupied. Salim Singh was the prime minister when Jaisalmer was the capital of the princely state and his mansion has a beautifully arched roof with superb carved brackets in the form of Peacocks. The mansion is just below the hill and it is said that once it had two additional wooden storeys in an attempt to make it as high as the maharaja's palace, but the maharaja had the upper storey torn down.

This morning you are transferred to the airport to board your flight to Varanasi where you are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the buried city of Sarnath, one of the holiest cities for Buddhists which is located north east of Varanasi. Buddha came to Sarnath and preached the way to Nirvana. Later, Ashoka, the great Buddhist emperor erected magnificent stupas and monasteries, the ruins of which are visible today. A museum here houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculptures. Return to Varanasi to witness the evening Aarti ceremony at the ghats. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 4: Varanasi Ghat Tour and Site seeing
Varanasi, the holiest of cities for the Hindus, is amongst the oldest living cities in the world. Enjoy an early morning boat ride on the river Ganges while looking out for people on the ghats - the women bathing discreetly in their sarees, the young men displaying prowess in yogic postures and the Brahmin priests offering prayers for one and all. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later proceed for a city tour of Varanasi including visits to the numerous temples, which dot the banks of the river. Day 5: Varanasi / Khajuraho
Post breakfast you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Khajuraho. We recommend the 9W2423 flight which departs at 1040 hours and arrives at Khajuraho at 1155 hours. Upon arrival at the airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Khajuraho. The tour includes a visit to the famous Chandela Dynasty Temples, which are set in a lovely grass park. Day 6: Khajuraho / Orcha /Jhansi / Agra
Post an early breakfast, drive from Khajuraho to Jhansi (172 kms/5 hours) en route visiting Orcha. A beautiful medieval town, Orcha was once the capital of Bundela Kings. Built along the banks of the river Betwa, through a rugged countryside, it still retains the captivating air of a bygone era. Amongst the various imposing edifices, of particular interest are the Jehangiri Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of the Moghul Emperor Jehangir. The Raj Mahal and the Laxminarayan temple are both noted for their fine frescoes and mural paintings.

Onward to Jhansi Railway station in time to board your train for Agra. The Shatabdi Express departs Jhansi at 1755 hours and arrives into Agra at 2030 hours. Upon arrival at the Railway Station, you are transferred to your hotel / conference venue.

Day 13: Zainabad - Wankaner - Rajkot tour
Lave for an early morning safari in the Rann of Kutch to spot the well-known Indian Wild Ass and other migratory birds. Return to your camps, later on. Have your lunch and leave for Rajkot by road.
